For all those with negative thoughts: If you supported Boro or Brizzle then would you swap places with us?.....Too fecking right you wouldn't. Also West Brom need reminding what happened to George Thorne when you play a full strength side when your play off spot is already assured.

Are you honestly advocating the sacking of another manager (yes...stop sacking managers is pretty important), when the team still sit within a shout of Playoffs with 14 games left?
This isn't just directed at you RoyMac5...but any who are even thinking about a new Manager...what do you want here? Do you really sit and think a new manager is just going to come in and say...OH, that's what needs changing; and all of a sudden - promoted! ??
It's going to take a good 3-4 years with the same Manager slogging through hold-over players, new signings, tactical changes, Big wins, crushing losses, and most of all our support.

YES- Lampard deserves to have more time. Silly argument- really. 6 Managers in the last 3.5 years. Let's stabilize that area for a couple years, then see what happens. COYR

Wow, you are way off the mark, Frank and Jody for myself, and many other right minded fans are doing a good job, you are so over the top, last 4 league games we have taken 8 points, beat Millwall on Wednesday and we are in the top 6, we have important players returning like Marriott and Mount, we have just added two quality players to the squad in King and Cole, we have a very exciting last 15 cup finals to look forward to, so stop your over the top negativity and get behind your club. I think you could end up eating your own words, Derby are in a good place right now.

Frank is failing?? Is he really??? Edge of playoffs, 8 points from last 4 matches in the league. Not saying the away performances recently have been good, they haven't, but I think Frank is doing well- 1st season in management.

Ipswich are bottom because they are incapable of playing away from home. Their away form is as follows:
    L
    L
    L
    L
    D (Birmingham)
    W (Swansea)
    L
    L
    D (Reading)
    L
    L
    L
    L
    L
    L
    L

At home, they're not as bad. They've drawn more than they've lost. I'd argue the reason that they've struggled turning draws into wins is due to their lack of bite upfront. At home, they've taken points off (of the top 15 - or 10 points away from us):
    Blackburn
    Villa
    Norwich
    Brentford
    Sheff Utd
    Derby

They won none of those games. The games they've won at home were against (current) bottom 6 teams.

People who look at the table and deduce that, if we're are 7th and they're bottom we must be THIS much better than them just simply haven't been paying attention to the Championship. The difference in quality between 1st and last, even when last place is adrift, simply isn't that much.
Ipswich are two above average players away from being a mid-table side. You couldn't say that about any of the teams last-place in any other league.

This is where I get to sometimes when I find myself wondering if I've watched a different game to other Derby fans. (and I mean that with no disrespect at all!)
Yes, he chased everything today. Won the ball back a few times but not so much so that I found myself thinking "Corr, he's having a really good game."
He's still poor in possession. Passes either immediately backwards or sideways and often doesn't play "forward-thinking" passes for other players to run on to or ones which open up the game for us to attack.
Again, I'll go back to what I was saying last week. I would like to see Evans in over Bryson, to purely fulfil the role of winning the ball back, freeing up some of the defensive responsibility from Huddlestone. This might free up Holmes to attack more aswell.
Feel like I'm being pretty harsh to one of my favourite players here but I just don't see what he's bringing to this side nowadays, and I feel like we were saying that two years ago...

I recall a Fergie talking about Frank. Apart of the ability of a midfielder to score 200 or more career goals and have the most incredible fitness record it was his total professionalism that stood out. Ability and self discipline made him truely exceptional.
isnt this odd .. we are 6th .. pretty much par for us over the last few years but there is an aura about us that has been lit up by Frank. We all seem to have a sense that this is only the start -  we are more like a tethered race horse than something already at full speed.
I don’t know where this will go but it will be a helluva party if we make it and a tribute to a young manager of remarkable conviction.
i can’t think of a time when a manager has so united fans

As someone who has been a STH for over 50 years and lived through the BC glory years as well as two 1st Division Championships I must say that the first 30 minutes today took me back to the football played by the Clough team that won the 2nd Division Championship. I know the memory fades but it’s a long time since I’ve been so impressed by a Rams team.....the football was absolutely brilliant and let’s hope it continues for the rest of the season. Coyr

We were the better team today, no question. Some of the football was outstanding. Even with all their play in red second half never really felt like we would concede. We’ll never score an og like that again, thought Bogle played well until that point but his head went after that and made some mistakes afterwards - no blame for him - he won’t dwell on it.
Mount Hudds and Lawrence the pick for me, Tomori and Keogh were also excellent. In fact I don’t think anyone had a bad game. Can’t believe some people have been calling Carson for not commanding his area. He’s came and got some important punches in the last two games, not to blame for the goal and he clearly wasn’t right at the time.
Its two points dropped based on the performance but means nothing at this stage as so early in the season. It’s all about performance at the moment, and we’ve just played 3 promotion contenders back to back and outplayed them.
We have a lot to be happy about!

    Yeah.
Watched that game back and think as a neutral pundit he was just looking at things from Sheff Utd’s point of view and why they weren’t keeping possession. It’s always a contrast watching on tele compared to listening on RD or watching on RamsTV, where 80% of the focus is on us. Neutrality sounds like bias when you’re used to those platforms because they’re made by proffesional fans.
Goodman is fair on us, I respect his punditry. Gary Birtles goes too far the other way. He’s hyper-aware of his Forest background and always overeggs his praise with us. Remember him comparing us to Brazil 1970 against Wolves once (no, I PROMISE you he genuinely did that).

I see the moaners are out in force again tonight and as usual it’s the demand for instant success and no patience brigade. Give FL time and he’ll get it right. I think we’re slightly better off for points than last year and we’re in 7th place. Come on get behind the lads. Even the great BC took more than one season to get his team together

andyburton72 reacted to LeedsCityRam in Next manager, who would you like in charge?
Am amused to see the suggestions for Stimac/Wanchope/Eranio etc. We have an old boy from that team in charge now, doesn't seem to have a) impressed the fans or b) kept him here for the long term (if the rumours turn out to be true). Also got no interest in a big name ex-player coming - let Lampard make his mistakes at Ipswich.
If Rowett goes, I think the next appointment has to be someone with a track record of producing attractive football. Its clear that a certain faction of Derby fans were not going to relent on Rowett, even if we'd gone up & another similar type of manager will cause the same boring 'results v style' schisms. Be warned though, promotion this way will take time & we can forget going up next season because the squad as it stands is simply not capable of playing that way.
I like the idea of Mark Warburton as a replacement - plays the right way & seems to recruit based on youth & potential. Was impressed with Forest when we beat them at PP.

Yes his son is a big fan. Met Motty in the bar at The Holiday Inn in Salford in 2012, he was filming for MOTD and I had come back from The Stone Roses gig at Heaton park. He was stood on his own and I plucked up the courage up to buy him a drink. He told me then that he thought the owners wanted Nigel gone. Told me some great stories re Clough Senior and he has some real affection for the club. Good guy

I have a feeling he is, on the quiet. Met him in the merlin a couple of times pre match. True gentleman, was sat on the next table as fan after fan came to speak to him. For about an hour he spoke to each of them with equal enthusiasm. Got the feeling he just lives and breathes football

We've been quick to slate the ownership and the management this season, but I think a big thanks is owed to Mel for persisting with Gary even where the results have gone sour.
It only occurred to me that this is the first manager to see a whole season since we had Nigel Clough here, long may it continue.
Even if we don't manage promotion this year, to see a change in the approach to management this year is encouraging. A truly settled club with a clear direction will always get to the promised land, whether it be in the short or the long term.

Mel, if you are reading this please sit GR down and reassure him, even if we fail to make the play offs, that his position is secure.
You employed, quiet correctly, a proven, hungry manger that is more than capable of leading us to the Premiership. You will undoubtedly have observed the social media outpourings which, in my opinion, are idiotic and unfounded in calling for the removal of our manager.
This is an all too familiar call when supporters, some with grandiose expectations, and no appreciation of the nuances of the game. From my prospective we are making head way even though it may appear not to be the case after some performances.
Our last period of true stability was under Clough, who, again my opinion, would have led us to the premier had he been allowed to see that season out. Successful sides are developed over a period of time, at least over a three year period. Rowett needs that time to deliver what you have asked him to do, and as the trigger sackings over the past few years have proven, it will ultimately get us nowhere.
The supporters of West Brom, Stoke and Sunderland all made the same call believing falsely that it would be in the best interests of their clubs who were then having a poor run. We need to be very careful in what we wish for.
You are the owner and supporter of a club I care a lot about so I am asking you to be patient, considered and trust the capable manager you have employed.

Spot on, Eddie.  I'm sure a lot of the level headed ones among us would agree with that sentiment.  Given time, I'm sure he knows we expect a better standard of football but it appears he is trying to build from the back and that's proving to be a bit more challenging than he expected.
