We can hardly draw a line under it whilst we are still in the middle of it,it's still there.
Hiding our heads in the sand, pretending all is well is what led us into this situation.

ūü§£¬†yes i am sure the 38¬†year old defender who is currently a free agent will be on a fortune. We don't pay high wages by championship footballer wage standards anymore even if we did have the money to spend. The only way he will be on high wages is if he goes and plays for anothet club - won't be at Derby.

Yes but they only did it because they ballsed up on ffp. Entirely their fault. In your analogy they'd already crashed the car and smashed it to pieces, but they've luckily found a way of keeping the car running on fumes for a little while longer. Lucky they had a way of getting themselves out the poo by selling the stadium.
With the amortisation i'm more inclined to agree with you, but we're still doing it differently to every other club in the league and asking for trouble.
No they're not. Every single referee isn't out to get poor little Derby either. Stop being so paranoid. Stadium was only sold to stop us breaching ffp - ie its our fault we wete in this mess in the first place.
Again i'm more inclined to agree on the amortisation, but again its another way we've tried to be clever and its backfired massively.

The amortisation charge and the stadium charge are both the fault of Mel and Pearce. We may have got away with the stadium one, but we should never have had to sell it in the first place to remain compliant with ffp. The amortisation charge is again entirely the fault of Mel and Pearce.
Nobody else to blame for the situation we find ourselves in.

Maybe, Derby need to lead the way. Maybe this is what is really meant by the Derby Way!
The question may not be ... what does everyone else do ... but second guess what is needed for future success for Derby.

I don't know either, but the impression I get is that Mel doesn't want to put anymore money in if he can help it and if we manage to sell any players it just seems to me that this money will just keep the lights on for another month. Don't think we will be spending any money on players ourselves any time soon.

Good. Should help us to get rid of cash sooner rather than later. I only carry cash now for the few stubborn holdouts who refuse to join the modern world

I agree he was one of best players last season and I wouldn't want to lose him, but of all the positions in our first 11 it's probably the one where I'd be fairly confident using the youth players standing in line behind him. Think McDOnald would be able to do a good job for us there if Byrne does leave.

My pet hate resurfaces. Sibbo (currently playing on the right) nicks the ball and wins a freekick 10 yards inside the opposition half. It's a decent attacking opportunity with 5 minutes to go. Instead of attacking, the freekick is passed backwards 30 yards and we end up losing the ball. It makes you want to bang your head against a wall.

On this showing, when we have everyone back, and IF we can sign some of these players + Wis and Davies… It possibly won’t be awful.

We're dependent on the EFL's interpretation of their own rules whether we are allowed to sign anyone. DT summarised the situation fairly well. Basically we just have to hope the Chorley game doesn't count.
