I'm a fan to be honest.  OK he's maybe not quite where he was but, along with the illness he kept really quiet about, plus being effectively kicked out to Fulham he still gives his all for the club.  At this level there aren't many better natural goal scorers or players with his ability to hold up the ball and lay off to others.  If we can keep him then we should.  We can't afford to waste millions on someone who may or may not be better in the current climate.  I bet hardly any footballers accept the first offer.  Why would CM be any different.

Couldn't agree more. There is such a disparity between the PL and EFL it's ridiculous. PL clubs received some £2.5bn in the 18/19 season and that's due to increase.  The EFL will get  circa £120m.  Then you get the parachute payments if you're relegated, spread over 3 years.  So the lovely Cardiff (sarcasm) will have received some £40m after relegation, then another £35m.
Yes wages need to be realistic and sustainable but at its core is, in my opinion the broadcasting deals negotiated.  Just because they're in the PL doesn't mean they're more entertaining.  Would you rather watch Derby v Florest / the Dirties or BHA v Palace (no disrespect to them).  I know which would be more entertaining and warrant parting with my hard earned cash.

I was only looking up the 3 of them a couple of weeks ago wondering what each was doing. Very sad news.  Grew up with the Goodies. Genuinely gutted.  A true gent and a Ram. R.I.P Sir Tim.

IF this has any truth then I'm interested.  His stock has dropped.  We all know that. Yeah Pep wanted rid, but IMO he was looking at it from a "world class" perspective.  It's relative. He has a mistake in him, something else we probably all know, but all keepers do, so if the money's right, and he's desperate to play then I'd want him.  He can catch a ball (more than Roos or Hamer anyway), he's a great shot stopper. Pretty good ball distribution (certainly at our level), and importantly he commands and marshalls the defence.  Worth a punt me thinks.

I think 'Pep' wanted the best ball playing top keeper in the world. Hart's distribution was pretty good, just not the best. Not sure we are in the same market as Man City for a ball playing golalkeeper?

I still get grumpy when my Watford mate reminds me of how little they paid for Will.  Why do we never seem to cash in like other clubs.  OK I don't expect us to sell him for £15m+ but £5m feels ludicrously low considering his quality.  Unless he goes for £5m, with an immediate guaranteed (no recall) season long loan back, plus a 10-15% sell on fee......

BucksRam got a reaction from Premier ram in v Manchester United (H) - Matchday Thread
Watched the game but only now made time to scan the thread.  I forecast a win, although deep down thought we'd lose.  Saw their team and knew it was almost a certainty as it was near as their first team.
Thought we did good.  The youngsters performed really well, and will have benefited hugely from the experience, as did (no surprise) Rooney who oozes class.  I know Man U have struggled but even so, they're still a top PL team, with some world class players who all turned up last night...Shaw, Fernandes, McBamford ....
I hate losing but we can hold our heads high - given some more clinical finishing, or Rooney's free kicks being a couple of inches either side, we'd have scored at least 2. Then who knows....
Onwards and upwards, which is where this team is slowly, but surely heading.....if we remain patient enough. Stay positive and strong all...our time will come.

BucksRam got a reaction from 86 Schmokes & a Pancake in Optimisim for next season
To try and keep the optimism flowing, rather than trying to list players who we should have bought, or ought, I'll just focus on a few bits.
We had an absolutely awful start to the season, hindered by a dire pre-season.  Lampard jumped ship.  Cocu joined, knowing zilch about the Championship.  We lost our 3 best players back to the PL. Keogh-gate.  Distracting sale issues. Now EFL charges hanging over us.  Despite all that, acadamy players have been successfully blooded, Bird/Knight excelling.  Rooney's joined and is making a big difference.  Cocu is finally getting to grips with the team and, because of bad luck / poor decisions we should have another 3-5 points on the board minimum IMO,  sitting around 10th or 11th.  Performances are improving if not quite the results yet.  We're not far off.  Yes we could do with 2 or 3 players so let's see what Cocu does in the summer.  I do think he's the right man for the job.  Look what he's done with everything that he's inherited and has happened since joining.
Points deduction threat aside, I am really optimistic we're on the up again and I remain confident for a much more exciting 20/21.

Absolutely agree.  I challenged the price (about £5 too much) and SHE said "are you telling me black people can't add up".  WTF?  I actually said words to the effect "what's the fact you're black got to do with it? Why are YOU saying that. All I'm asking is for you to check the price".  It's a mad mad world.
