Points Deduction, Who's Next And When Will It Stop?
BucksRam replied to ram59's topic in Football Forum
Suspect Everton's were big enough to get the deduction this season rather than last...... -
I did say a while back I'd give him until Christmas. Scarily we're nearly there. An inability to change tactics An inability to play to our strengths No trust in some of the youngsters Looking like he's losing (lost) some of the dressing room We're only as high up as we are due to the fact most other teams are absolute tripe. Not sure I want to wait until Christmas.

TV Repeatedly Apologising For Bad Language At Live Football Matches
BucksRam replied to ram59's topic in Football Forum
That's exactly why they do it. CYA measures. They've done on the current Cricket World Cup a few times when the stump mics picked up some colourful language. I find it funny - the swearing, not the apologies: they're annoying. -
Been out all day and just got in. First stop the forum to bask in the positivity and joy of a great win, and saw this 😢 I didn't know you mate, or ever meet you but jeez your passion, your belief in this team of ours, your rallying cries, your innocent naivety whenever someone gently pulled your leg - you leave behind a legacy your family should rightly be proud of. We'll miss you B4. RIP fella 🐏

Derby 2 - 1 Barnsley FRGS. An inspired, uber confident Collins

Don't get me on the topic (sic) of shrinkflation! Chocolate bars are now smaller yet cost proportionately more. Freddos used to weigh 20g, they're now nearly half that. Large dairy milk went from 200g to 180g, yet the price stayed the same. As did the smaller ones, losing 4g simply by having square corners not round, with no change to the price. Mars are something like 20% smaller. I could go on but fortunately for everyone here I have a meeting I need to prep for......

Agree - was interesting listening to Daniel Sturridge on MNF this week explaining what positions a striker should take up in the box, and why. Instinct, understanding of where your team mate is going to pass, understanding of who may be following in behind you (your AM) so move in to create space, to name a few. Sadly I don't think Collins is anywhere near this.

With good reason sadly. If we had a massive unit of a striker as the target then fine - we don't. We need King Colin back. Crewe were set up to defend the cross, and did it extremely well. We opened them up by playing it to our strengths, on the ground to score our two goals. Shooting practice wouldn't go amiss too.

I play a little bit of golf (not well). A phrase my buddy hears me say far too often is "a tee shot is only as good as the 2nd shot" when, after nailing a 280yd blondie, you then shank your 2nd shot. Last night's game was like that for me. Great first shot, let's see what he does for his 2nd before we believe he's cracked it.

Derby County versus Northampton Town (H) Match Thread
BucksRam replied to S8TY's topic in Derby County Forum
Had an absolutely poo week last week (mother in law into hospital, heart attack (ok now TF), but cancelled long planned holiday to Iceland) so really cheered up to see tonight's result. Hope this is us rejuvenated. -
Derby 2 - 1 Northampton FRGS Collins - penalty

Based on the fact we do have some quality players (for this league)and a feeling if they play to their strengths etc. So both.

Unless there's a cunning pot of money under DC's mattress, PW and his staff are likely going nowhere; this season at least. We've definitely got a top 6 squad, maybe even top 2 but not playing this style of football. Unless anything changes, it's mid table mediocrity for us. We look a bang average (at best) L1 team. PW is a decent bloke. The problem, I think, is he has a set of beliefs about how the game should be played, so deeply ingrained, he's unable to change. It's change we need. It's all very depressing.
