Used to regularly see him in the Bull's Head at Repton, he used to visit his son at the school if he'd commented on a local match. Top commentator, top bloke, R.I.P Motty ?

So what did you buy from him?
A used car, A bridge in Brooklyn, A Fake diamond.
No you did not "buy" anything
The facts are he blew £150 million of his own cash trying to get Derby County back into the Premiership.
Self entitled youngsters like yourself make me despair, he tried, he blew a fortune trying, and all he gets is snide comments from supporters who believe that they are entitled to tremendous success from the club as long as someone else plays for it.

Zurich Ram reacted to Newcastle Fan in Abu Derby County
Hello folks
I just saw the news in the Ncl Evening Chronicle. I posted on here a while back re the fake Sheikh and his pal Midhat (not a sheikh - actually a cockney of Indian heritage. The press kept referring to him as a sheikh though!).
Whilst I’m not surprised about the outcome, I’ve come to post my sympathies. Ludicrous to watch a football club and a section of its support strung along by obvious con men. My contempt I reserve for the EFL (how did these duckers pass the ‘fit and proper persons’ test???) and the football press, for their complete lack of investigation into these people, instead continuing to print absolute nonsense about the money they have and the relationships they have with the Abu Dhabi royal family.
It’s terrible when a support is taken for a ride by chancers - aided and abetted by the media. Personally, I think some mea culpas are owed from them - but I wouldn’t hold my breath.
I’m glad to see you’re pulling away from the Third Division trapdoor - though of course had you went down, you’d comfortably be the biggest club in that division - you’d have a nightmare as teams like MK Dons, Scunthorpe and Sunderland try to take a scalp.
I’m back to watch the quagmire that is our takeover - as it leaves the High Court and returns to the PL. Imagine arguing that the financial arm of the Saudi state isn’t really part of the Saudi state? That’s what’s happening at the moment. Modern football is crap, isn’t it? It definitely is with Steve Bruce as manager. You’ll be playing us next year, so you’ll get to see in person just what we’ve been grumbling about ...
PS 500 pages? Don’t know whether to say ‘well done’ or think you’re maniacs :)
Either way, all the best for the rest of this season. I’ve no doubt that if you’re for sale, someone genuine will come along. Derby is a sleeping giant - get it right, and there’s no reason that the club couldn’t be sitting pretty as a PL regular pulling in big crowds.

Exactly this - judge over 24 games not the last 5. 9th in the form table over a large chunk of the season that is about the very top end of where this team is at, vastly improved on the first 13 games and continue this we will survive no problem. Not blind faith - facts looking at his whole reign so far which includes winning runs and losing runs. Can’t believe some people are still questioning him. We are still in trouble because of the disastrous start pre-Rooney.
That being said, this squad was always better than the position it was in when he took over, he’s doing a good job but too early to say he’s a miracle worker and the right man longer term. He won’t have much to spend so the challenge will be can he improve this set of players and make astute signings in key areas to take us to the next level and playing in a style easier on the eye (last night in the second half will do just fine). The jury remains very much out on that.

You're not telling me you'd have walked out and gone home. at halftime are you? Rams could have won that game last night, silly first penalty to concede, as soon as Wisdom lost possession, you could see it coming, but even at 2 down, there was still 45 minutes to turn things around, and they did.
A win at Stoke combined with a lot of other potential results on Saturday afternoon and all of a sudden, the cracks that were being papered over, will have disappeared. Keep the faith, its not blind faith, either. New backers, investment in the team and things have the potential to be significantly different.

What this post doesn't state which aged is we are a team full of free transfers, cheap punts, loan players and academy players learning their trade on the job, this along with Rooney, who has inherited a poo show, a mishmash of different players from different eras and managers all from poor management in the past, hes learning on the job, personally I think all things considered with the many terrible decisions made in the past 6 years we could be in a worse position???

From today's Independant
"Nottingham Forest are in discussions with sponsor Football Index after the “virtual stock market” experienced a catastrophic market crash.
Football Index, a website where customers can buy stock in footballers, is in turmoil after announcing dividends would be reduced by 80 per cent, causing player prices to plummet.
Users reacted with outrage, with some losing thousands of pounds on the website. "
