Stive Pesley got a reaction from Nookiebear1 in Local Journalism
why do we need local journalists when the club opened a direct communication channel to the fans and their representatives, by way of a fan forum. All that needs to happen is for the chosen ones to report back to the fans...oh

Stive Pesley got a reaction from atherstoneram in Further EFL charge tagged on
I remember the Lampard one at the cinema in the Intu - Mel was banging on about how the P&S rules were all so stupid woolly there were loads of clever ways to navigate them. At the time it sort of felt like he was spoiling for a showdown with the EFL over it all. Well he got that for sure. He might wish he'd never bothered

Good point.
At least in very simple terms, it has to at least slightly reduce transmission if it lessens symptoms - as the cough reflex is the main way that the virus gets itself airborne. Less coughing = less transmission (but not zero transmission)
But you're right - taken as a whole, it's a tricky balancing act with no easy answers - hence I defer to each individual parent to make their own mind up, and respect their choice

I know Mel ultimately carries the can, but I've said before that a lot of this has to fall on Stephen Pearce. How that guy is still in a job I'll never know. After the Sam Rush saga when he was CFO- and now all this this stuff has happened since he became CEO in 2018
All while he sat on the EFL board as well!

Things like this help to clarify what the channel is all about - getting people to argue and then monetising the result
They don't actually believe anything they broadcast or care what the consequences are, as long as it generates heated debate

They do love a mass debate - and there are an awful lot of mass debaters on there at present…..

Personally I believe vaccinating children is very wrong morally given the stats and overwhelming evidence that they are at minuscule threat from covid and my gut is they are being used as a shield to put in front of adults,
that said I very much believe that if a parent truly believes they are protecting they’re children by vaccinating them then that is they’re right to do so without interference, we all get things both right and wrong in the process of bringing our children up and keeping them safe , as long as our choices come from the right place then that’s the best we can do??♂️

Have to say the more I read all this, and the longer this all goes on, I really do wonder if it is as simple as blind, childish obstinance on the EFL's part, whilst we're saying "look, I get you're not happy but legally we've done nothing wrong, so what you're asking us to do, well, much as we could do it, we can't actually legally do that so you'll just have to accept that the way we've done our accounts is legally correct, so put down your rattle, take your thumb out your mouth, stop whining and let us move on with our lives please".

Surely strengthens our position a little, if it transpires that the instructions from the EFL were impossible to comply with (resubmission of accounts to companies house - there was nothing illegal about the original submission). And the reason they were impossible to comply with is because the EFL are effing clueless and had no idea what they were even asking for

Well I was outvoted and we've had the dog almost a year now.
We had to rehome one of the cats, as they just stopped coming in the house and simply sat at the end of the garden looking disgusted
I've warmed to the dog a little bit, but he's still a bit crazy

No - don't get me wrong, I don't have a problem with your opinion, I'm just trying to work out where we diverge in terms of respecting people's freedom of choice around vaccinations to being ardently against vaccinating children even if that's the parent's choice
That's fair enough, i'm not especially comfortable with it either, and we will live and (hopefully not) die by our choices. In wider terms I still believe in the right to choose above any personal misgivings over vaccinating young kids
