Potentially, but those 'better' signings all come with drawbacks (usually age). Ultimately, all free agents are in that position for a reason. It's easy to look at past credentials and say ''these players are better because of their CVs so we should walk the league'' but the reality is that, to be really harsh, these are other clubs' castoffs... 
Given Warne has repeatedly emphasised the importance of athleticism and pace within his system, the pool of players we could sign does not really fit the 23-28 year old demographic that we ideally want, as players in this age range are usually under contract.
I just think these constraints hardly get mentioned, but getting promoted without being able to buy a single player justifies turning to efficient football. It just seems fairly entitled to sit here in 2nd place, with a fantastic chance to go up, and be moaning about style of play; especially when there are mitigating factors as to why we may have had to turn to pragmatism. ''Trying to play better football'' with the players we have at our disposal may have cost us a chance at promotion, would that have been worth it?

The job Warne has done, since Stevenage away, has been exemplary.
You cannot play one touch 50 pass moves with league 1 players. Not feasible. If we blow it, and have to face up to another season down here, Warne is definitely the man to rebuild us and go again.
If we go up, he will have earnt the right to build a Championship squad and have a go at keeping us up, as per his original brief.
I know he's marmite, with his off-beat personality profile, but he's clearly an honest and genuine man and it's hard to see a nice guy cop for abuse.

But we have too deal with the massive fixture backlog for all those teams in Europe playing home and away against some team who won the Cypriot cup, or 20 games to win the Champions league they qualified for by finishing 4th.  Don't forget the 4 preseason games going to Saudi to play against Al Hilal and some other randoms as well.  Rochdale can feck right off with their 200k extra gate money.

Next season there will be no replays in the FA Cup from the First round onwards. Potentially financially devastating for non- league and poorly supported league clubs not being able to earn that money earning replay at a large club that could potentially keep it alive or bankroll it for a couple of seasons.

She's right. In our house we have so many TV shows that we give up on even when we are enjoying them. Narcos, Peeky Blinders, Ozark, Witcher, Boardwalk, Lost, Walking Dead, The Tourist, House of Cards, Vikings... Honestly, so many more that we just trail off them when busy and end up losing interest 
Breaking Bad was one that we would make time for. After a brief dip in Series 1 (that is part of the story) once it gets going again it doesn't stop. So good.
I don't know if anything can live up to the hype Breaking Bad has. But I'm with your Mrs. Best thing ever. 
I'm starting Fallout this weekend. Was a fan of Fallout 3. The Mrs has no idea what to expect and when she saw the trailer I don't think yet another apocalyptic survival adventure excites her. She says there's too many. I say not enough. Could end up going solo on it

I've watched it... 
If you're a gamer you'll probably enjoy the show, it captures the feel of the games and has loads of easter eggs.  If you've never heard of Fallout, its still been getting good reviews and Season 1 sets up the world and story nicely for the future.
I found it to be kinda 'meh' however - although I guess despite being a huge gamer I've never really enjoyed the Fallout/Bethesda games, so maybe its just me.  Reading other reviews it does seem that I am in a minority. 
You can easily watch it in a couple of evenings though, which is a positive for me!  So at least there isn't too much of a time investment - my missus wants me to watch Breaking Bad cos apparently its the 'best thing ever' but I see how many episodes there are and 'nah...'

We came out of admin with 6 rostered senior pros and just missed out off the back a non-existent pre-season, with a cobbled together team. That team is now challenging for the autos in our second season since facing liquidation, all achieved while under soft-embargo and an enforced business plan too.
You can sneer all you like, but some folk are actually proud of how this club has turned things around, a notion you clearly find hilarious.

We haven't had a TV licence for over 2 years now... And get a bloody letter from them most months, threatening us with a maximum £1000 fine if we don't buy one, telling us they have opened investigations against us and asking whether we'll be in on [insert date].  As we've taken early retirement and are in most days, we know for a fact the buggers never come around!
A while back we filled in a form saying we don't require a licence, which stopped the letters for approx 6 months before they started arriving again.  Any other walk of life and it would be harassment.
We know the rules and genuinely don't watch the BBC or live TV.  If they did ever come around, I'm under no legal obligation to let them and and after hearing horror stories from people that have let them in probably won't despite the fact we have nothing to hide.  If we were 30yrs older or more vulnerable we'd feel under real pressure to pay for something we don't use or want.

I used to think that the TV Licence vans really had "tv detectors". It seems that was another BBC lie. They just bully vulnerable people into confessing they watch TV. They have never used "tv detector" evidence in court because it doesn't exist.
