With the injuries currently throughout the squad, we’ve stumbled onto a formation that surprisingly works quite well. Collo getting another weeks training helps. Joe Ward is a wing wizard with an eye for goal. CBT looks like an actual player too. NML looks the odd one out though, not quite working through the middle (not that I’m suggesting he’s dropped, he’s still good, just maybe a bit injured?)
Defence has survived 2 matches without anymore injuries. 1 to go until Sonny the headless is back.
Oddly thought Ward looked his best slotting into the ‘10’ role last night, he seemed to interchange with NML on that right hand side and both goals came from him floating in the middle.
Might be the three attackers behind the striker swap and change in the game depending on what the opposition defends with.

Heard Marinakis wants to make us his feeder club for his up and coming sleeping European giants

Have we had a youth player in recent memory who scored as many in their loan as he has? Looks to have all the core attributes to kick on next season and an ideal replacement for Washington/Gayle

Eh we’re doing alright I guess

Well done. Thought we deserved more but that's football.
See how it goes from here on in, but glad I don't have to watch that every week TBH.
We'll live 🙂

Gayle is a top level player starting to wind down his career, Collins is a lower league specialist who on form is one of the best in the league.
It just happens that they are both about the same level now, and benefiting us

Player pull is huge, if he has the choice between going back to Cardiff who never really gave him a chance, or playing for us where the fans already love him and will continually play whenever given the chance then we know where he will go.
The same reason the likes of Warne, NML, Cashin, Bradley etc all signed/stayed with us when they probably could have commanded better money and higher leagues.

Reportedly on 35k a week at Stoke. Presumably his wage (even if reduced) is still going to make him the top earner at the club hence it running by the EFL

Massive loss with Collins out for the season, absolutely imperative we get Waggy and Wash back fit now

Dropping over half of our league points in January has all but ended our chance of automatic promotion.
The poor performances in the above games don't bow well for playoffs either. Yep we won against Cheltenham but let us be honest we were 2nd best at home to a team in the bottom 3.
….highest we’ve been in the league all season?

A welcome and good win, but that was a tough watch the second half.
Makes the win all the more sweet. On paper Charlton has one of the best squads (and certainly best attackers) in the league.
If scrappy 1-0 gets us top of the league come May then Viva-la-Warneball

Absolute legend.
Of our recent academy products probably has the highest ceiling and if we go up and he keeps playing like this he will easily get a move to a big premier league club.
Gutted about Bird but if we had to choose we’ve managed to tie down the more important of the two.

People wanted a striker younger than 30, capable of outscoring 18 goal Collins, who would bring more play into the team and because of our financial position they would need to be either free or little cost.
Anyone close to the above is either way out of price range (ie Langstaff) or has already been snapped up by the league above us. The fact that a player like Will Osula is getting regular prem game time shows how few exceptional strikers are out there right now.
We have got to where we are in the league with the current attackers. Where we are faltering in recent games was down to the midfield and Warne has addressed that.

I like Max Bird, I also like the money.
I’m sure the club likes money too, so they are getting more money and the same amount of Max Bird. Not sure where the problem is here when he was never going to sign an extension.

Collins does exactly what he told us he’d do, he scores goals. He’s not always going to be a stand out player but he’s a natural goalscorer in the purest sense of the word. Let our wingers be the flair players, we just need our striker to put the ball in the net.

I’m really glad we won yesterday, I was worried with our form there was a risk of relegation/dropping out of the playoffs/falling away from the automatic promotion pack (delete as appropriate to sensationalise our poor playing style despite our still exceptional form).

Hi all,
Having a clear out of some old football shirts and signed Derby footballs. I know many on here are keen traders/collectors. Where do you find is best for buying and selling old shirts/merchandise?
