Well yeah, it's Keanu Reeves mate. And it was made 30 years ago, so there's that. Top Gun is just a homo-erotic pop promo, despite being the greatest film ever made.

We have in general played well against top teams this season since Rooney took control, surprising he made so many change where if it was resting players, Derby being Derby v Coventry is a game we will struggle in so in a weird way would have made sense.
I guess his thinking is we need to take points off the teams around us, makes sense, if we do pick up 3 points against them, but pressure is on now.
Cardiff felt like a cup game, pressure is really on now to win on Saturday

Definitely seems like Rooney made the decision to write the game off and rest players. That’s a disgrace imo. There’s no team in this division that much better than another, it’s been said a million times before - anyone can beat anyone. We should have been going into that game with at least the aim of getting a point. And even if it wasn’t a game we had the faintest hope in, then I would still expect us to at least try and pull off a miracle, not give the game up like we did yesterday - we looked beaten from the first whistle, which is no surprise when you put out such a weak and disorganised team. I’d go as far as to say that performance was actually disrespectful, the players seemed to have so little clue what they were doing it was like they hadn’t even been coached.
Rooney had better learn from his mistakes and not try that poo ever again. Last night was total managerial ineptitude, sending a team out so unprepared - the result is all on him. Shocking. Maybe if he actually used his subs a bit better in other games then he wouldn’t need to rest players? Regardless, if he wants to be a successful manager, then he’s going to have to set his teams up a lot better than last night, simple as that. Only one game of course, but too many like that and his managerial career will go down the drain.

Well I can only speak for myself of course but when the first lockdown started and Sky decided to make every match live it was like football heaven, I probably overdosed lol.  As time has gone on though, without the crowds they've started to feel a bit souless - even with the fake crowd noise - then of course there is nothing to compare to the actual matchday experience of being there.  Add to that the indifferent season, its just been one to write off and hope we can actually be at PP for the kick off next season.
Re. the forums I keep half an eye on the Abu Derby thread, the transfer section and occasional others with interesting titles but other than that I've pretty much stopped caring atm.  The lockdown fatigue is real...

I would say its about 30-50% in primary schools and around 10-20% in secondary schools.
It was lower in previous lockdowns. Parents have got lockdown exhaustion and are starting to worry about the negative aspects of children being off so long. As I walk round my local park I regularly see groups of teenagers hanging around, kicking a ball etc so hard to estimate how much impact going to school will have on their exposure to the virus.
Most secondary school kids will be tested in schools initially and then be given tests to do at home, so won't be surprise to see positive test rates go up but that isn't in itself concerning.

There will be a sharp spike in cases as they are testing the kids twice a week starting end of this week, that’s hundreds of thousands of folk being tested who currently aren’t. I just hope we don’t over react to it and manage it best we can. Fingers crossed for April starting to bring life back to normality.

I hate it when they try to blame it on an offside decision. The bigger problem from the game is the fact that we were poo.
I understand the idea behind remaining calm no matter what, but it would be nice for fans to see a little emotion every so often. I don't think Wayne even celebrates when we score does he? (admittedly its not often but still)

Tonight I finally saw the game through the football-hating eyes of my Mum when I was a kid.
From start to finish it was awful. No build up to the game, bizaare selection, turgid passing across the back, shocking camera angle, unbelievably bad commentator, no atmosphere, conceded sloppy goal and then went ever more rapidly downhill.
Just unwatchable in its limp, sluggish and half-arsed nature. Probably immaterial as we will stagger to a lower midtable finish. Still no idea what's happening with any takeover and currently very few players who I would pay to watch or get me out of my seat.
Just all-round tonight I for the first time ever, literally felt 'why am I watching' and turned over. Not in anger or despair, just in realisation I was totally not engaged in it and it was incredibly immaterial to me.

Hi All, as a Cardiff fan, who has an affinity with Derby fans after befriending a few during Euro 2016, here's my take on last night's precedings.
We came into the game in a rich vein of form. Big Mick has somehow taken the same players that Harris had and made them believe. He has also adopted a 3-5-3 system which is very hard to break down but gives our front 3/5 the space to show their flair and abilities. Kieffer Moore is on fire, not just as a target man, he also has other attributes with his feet which makes him the bargain buy of the season at £2m. 6 wins and 3 draws breeds huge confidence.
The Rams have also seen an upturn in fortunes since Rooney took charge, arguably, considering the precarious position you were in, being the form team in the division. With all that said, last night's game looked very tough for both sides.
Games come thick and fast in this league and I knew we would have to rest 2/3 players, which we did. I must say I was perplexed when your teamsheet came out with 6 changes, Marshall was forced, but the other 5 I'm not so sure. The only conclusion I could make was Rooney has pulled a masterstroke here and seen something that most managers would not.
Quite quickly into the game I realised that Rooney was trying to match our formation to nulify the threat. He's not the first, Bournemouth did the same. Easy to say now, but I felt that this was a mistake as teams should play to their strengths, not the oppositions. The rest is history, although your team did not do themselves any favours by passing it around the back and inviting the press, which we do very well.
I have read the comments on this thread and agree with many that every game in this league is up for grabs. It did seem at times that your team didn't actually know what they were being asked to do. I guess it's a big learning curve for Rooney and more is learned in adversity than in victory.
Good luck for the rest of the season. I wish you all well.
    Cheers, Jim

It's a valid point really. I think losing Bielik was the final nail in the coffin for any aspirations of anything than a lower table finish this season. Funny looking back on how many scoffed when his importance was in their minds overplayed. I think in fairness to both gaffers though, this is a really spineless group. You need a few warriors out there but way too many of ours just go missing whenever the going gets tough. We've had a soft centre for too long now and even when managers come and go as they have, that trait remains. I can take a losing display, no bother, but a gutless one tends to stick in my craw. That's what we got tonight I'm afraid.

I’m not even drunk yet - give me time, it’s a Tuesday after all.
But I have never played to any level. Shropshire FA First Division in the early nineties was my peak. So what the 20th rung on the football ladder? If that.
Tell you what though, that team never hid and shirked like Derby did tonight.
I watched one player (who I won’t name) lose the ball and the jog around half-arsed for the next two minutes pretending to get into shape. Fraud.

Not tonight. And sorry if it’s been said. But that was shocking and it’s down to Rooney.
    Woodgate’esque managerial performance.
I will never accept us throwing a game. No effort, bewildering formation, no effort, no proactive change to the formation from Rooney, no effort, subs 20 mins too late, and no effort.
Appalling rubbish. As a happy clapper I’ve struggled with Jordan for  couple of years at least. But whatever he says tonight is bang on.

Absolutely pathetic result. Rooney surrendered the game from the first minute with his team selection, absolutely shameful management. No team in this league is unbeatable, we should be going into this game thinking we can at least get a point. Instead we seemed to give up as soon as Cardiff had their first shot. There was no reaction at all to going behind, we just carried on as we were and allowed them to hammer us. Rooney has to take full blame here for his team selection and lack of game management. Proper amateur hour. Glad there wasn’t any paying fans in there because they’d deserve a refund for that shower of poo.
I mean, what was he thinking with that set up?! Sibley on the wing, Edmundson in midfield, Baningime as an advanced midfielder... any idiot could see that’s a total mess which would never work. And Christ, that game emphasised how bad our squad is and how far we have to go before we reach Cardiff’s level. Some of those players wouldn’t get a game in League One with some of the passing on show. But also, what are we working on in training? These sorts of games have been a problem all season, so why haven’t we got any better at beating a press? Why is there still no intelligent movement up front? Why haven’t we moved on from the Cocuball passing it sideways with no game plan of how to score a goal?
Cardiff probably couldn’t believe their luck with some of our “defending”, easiest game they’ll have all season with our disorganisation at the back and toothlessness up front. I know Cardiff are good, but the way we just rolled over tonight was pathetic. Hang your head in shame Mr Rooney. We’d better win on Saturday after this.
