That is a very sensible question and I'm sure the answer is "yes". There is always the problem regarding his remaining contract at Brum, how long left and what was he on.
Of course the last manager unfairly sacked by Birmingham whose next club was yours didn't work out too well. But I think Eustace will prove to be a better coach/manager than Rowett has; and more loyal. It isn't just his impressive time at St Andrews. His Kiddy team played such lovely football they were dubbed "the non-league Barcelona".
I was stupid enough to put a lot of money on you today. I thought you'd blow The Shrews away. Ah well silly me!

I have a friend who is a very close friend of Eustace, I can say with certainty he would come if offered. Likes the club and would like to be part of the rebuild. Of course, that's not to say he's even been spoken to about it but after today I have to say I've joined the Warne out brigade. For a club of our size and with our resources that was really poor.

Did you watch their match on TV during the international break. The game where Mansfield 'tore them a new one'. County were awful. They played some of the most slowest and boring football I've seen in years. County can keep their gaffer.

Proper heroes actually to most of the country at the time. Brave men who refused to be bullied or intimidated into striking when there hadn't been an official national ballot. But as Steadybreeze wrote earlier this subject doesn't belong on a football forum.

Apparently The Robins were appalling at Pompey yesterday so it should be a good opportunity to get back on track.

If a 4 year contract means we finally stick with something and see it through, allow a manager his poor spells and give him the opportunity to work through them, rather than panicking and dropping the axe at the first sign of trouble then no, it's not a mistake.
(Unless we actually get relegated, but that's not going to happen)

Both Cloughs might have been sacked using the same criteria - certainly, no-one was convinced by Nigel at the end of his first half-season, though iirc with his Dad the fans could see that something was building, particularly after a 4-0 victory over top of the table QPR towards the end of the season.
We've had so many managers, eventually successful, whose initial impact seemed "meh" at best, but now they're instantly compared to Nigel Pearson, and not, say, George Burley or even Arthur Cox, who both had to resurrect the club from virtual bankruptcy. As a fanbase, we seem to have gone from immensely relieved and grateful to survive to entitled and hyper-critical in record time. We're "so over" Administration and teetering on the edge of liquidation, aren't we?!

In the remaining 29 games Rotherham played that season the won 4, drew 4 and lost 21.
I have no clue how he managed to hang on in the job, but I bet Rotherham are glad he did.
Calls for him to go this early on are preposterous and only based in prior held convictions, not the realities of what is needed to succeeded in football.
Half this board would have had Clough sacked in his first season as well as Cox. And Jim Smith would have been hung, drawn and quartered after the Tranmere game.

ROKERITE got a reaction from RoyMac5 in Is Paul Warne the next Nigel Pearson?
I'm amazed at the negativity already about Warne. He's had four league matches, two of which he's won. He might not be the most exciting appointment but he's proved thrice that he can get a team promoted from League One. It might be beyond him this season but after a couple of transfer windows I'm confident he'll have you challenging in 2023-4.

ROKERITE got a reaction from Jimbo Ram in Derby County v Exeter City Tuesday 25 October
Nothing is certain in football and Caldwell might prove me wrong. But his managerial record and the low regard in which he is held by supporters of the teams he's managed would suggest this is a very bad appointment by The Grecians.
His managerial career started very well. He took Wigan straight back up to The Championship as title winners in his first full season. But it's been all downhill ever since. Fans of a club where a manager has been sacked will rarely have anything good to say about their former man. But the vitriolic language used by both Chesterfield and Partick Thistle supporters regarding Caldwell is particularly extreme. At both clubs he was an abysmal failure and he is very fortunate to have been given the Exeter City post. It has taken Exeter ten seasons to eventually gain promotion to League One and I fear they'll regret placing their hard won status in the hands of Mr Caldwell.

It's unfortunate timing. Gary Caldwell is an atrocious appointment, an astonishingly bad choice. But it's his first match in charge so the new manager impetus will kick in while it will take a few matches before the effect of just how inept the new man in charge is becomes clear.
