Yes, I was hoping we'd score so we go up.

You do realise I was saying Rosenior had us playing well? Whatever, you just delight in being rude to posters, what a sad life you must have. 😄

Some don’t like Warne’s football (me included) but it’s very childish for some posters to accuse Derby fans of wanting to lose to prove a point. I hope we get promotion. I will be overjoyed for weeks but will hardly remember any of the football

Thanks for that, mate! Actually Wycombe were better than you have just described, although our defence was fairly solid. And yes, you have moved away from the dark arts, although you were time wasting from the very start - but then so were we!  Ut you started committing a lot of quite cynical fouls once the substitutions happened, and your ball boys were very naughty when it came to giving the ball to one of our players.
Unfortunately our manager’s tactics are so one dimensional that even a sheet of paper looks like rough terrain, and you quickly worked out how to stifle us. If because of last night we end up in the play-offs, we won’t get promoted.

I actually enjoyed the football you played once you had woken up, so once you get rid of your ambulance-chasing chairman you should start to go places.

@Ghost of Clough As I mentioned yesterday, these stats don't show what our manager is trying to do with the club and I think you'd admit (if you saw the game yesterday) that we have moved away from the Dark-Arts and that we are looking to do something with the ball.
The stats from last night prove that we can step it up with the more challenging teams that we play against. From last night's viewing, it looked like a even fixture overall. You were well on top for the first 15 minutes before Wycombe got their act together and started to match you up across the pitch. I'd go as far as saying that in the last 10/15 minutes, we looked the more threating.

However, a draw was a fair result even though the game didn't deserve the score line of 0-0! Good luck to you guys for the rest of the season and I'll keep an eye on your run-in. It tighten up as we get closer to the final day of the season but looking at those in the play-off battle, I think you'll have a good day out at Wembley in the Play-Offs (if you don't go up automatically!) Just make sure you don't give Oxford anything to be happy about!
    Good luck!

I was at Pompey the other night. Still buzzing from it; pure theatre. My lasting memory though will be the support in the Away end. Got to my seat 10 minutes pre-ko & the Rams were in full voice with a new song that was mesmerising & unusually had zero references to penises. The singing never stopped for the 98 minute duration and it was at times transcendental. Or summat. Made me feel very proud of Derbyshire. Hope we can keep that up in the last 4 fixtures. We really need those flanges…almost like @B4ev6is is conducting events - because it’ll be a fantastic day if we do the …<fill in the blanks>.

I never leave a game early. I stay and applaud the players off the pitch - win, lose or draw - as I think you well know, young man!

When the going gets tough, you turn to Waggy. He'll find his unstoppable inner beast for the most meaningful matches. Maybe a bit of help from the other unsung hero and footballing genius, Marlon Pack.

I won't care who scores a goal that results in us getting promoted. I'd just like it to be in front of few  lucky Rams fans stood behind the goal at Cambridge. Meaning on the final day of the season, I can be a in a packed Pride Park, celebrating promotion before a ball is kicked.

I post a gentle reference to Portsmouth’s most famous son, and you and Clint Eastwood hold me out to public ridicule on the forum. I have been a gibbering wreck for days.

You seem to think I’m in the camp that believes that we have found the best starting X1 only because of injuries. I’m not. If you look at my post more carefully you’ll see I’m saying simply that it has taken us far too long to settle on a balanced and effective startling line up. I think for example that this season we’ve overused Hourihane massively, overplayed NML, mis-used Fozzie (I agree with your assessment of him of course), underplayed Barkhuizen, Ward, Fornah (maybe) and Wilson and possibly underplayed Tommo. Dropping Wildsmith was obviously just weird but let’s assume there were other things going on. I also agree with you that Nyambe is a useful and good footballer but I’m not sure - even if fit - that he should start right now.
The costly error imo - you can debate this of course - has been to accommodate Hourihane in the starting line up. I’ll be astonished if - having seen how much better we are without him - he ever starts again. That took 38 games ! I think a lot of people will be posting about that if we don’t go up

Clickbait, agreed. However, when they actually say something rather than the speculation they mainly post, it's generally spot on although 95% of what they post is pure speculation, the rest is copied from other sources. So, 5% of their posts are accurate... this was one. Seems Fozzy, like Collo, looks like getting back early. Good news if true.
Went on Wycombe when the Couhig thing started to ask their view on it. I was polite, they responded in kind, had some discussion on there, not always agreed with each other but it's been civilised, even when I faulted their "style" although I do understand why they play that way.
I'm one of the last few on FootyMad. Joined this one when COYR went south. Used to run the East Midlands Collective before that ended up with a handful of posters from a top of 500.
My background? Played till I was 53. Last few years as player/coach, UEFA B qualified. Coached the youth keepers at my local club for about 10 years. Qualified ref as well. Quit that 2 years ago after a broken fibula that needed 2 operations left me not able to keep up with play box to box for 90 minutes. Always said I'd never become the ref that never left the centre circle so, at 68 and true to my word, I stopped.

So long as he sticks with a back four, and plays Smith and Ward rather than Bradley and Hourihane, we  will be fine.
At Northampton we started with both Bradley and Hourihane, Ward and Blackett Taylor were only subs.
We also have Collins back instead of Washington/Waggy.

We’ve now got the best balanced side we’ve had all season imo, a side that has the ability to outplay the oppo as well as grind out results; a side that is showing the consistency we have lacked for most of the season. That’s why I agree with those who are predicting promotion.

I don’t think using words like ‘stumbled’ is helpful, but I think it has taken us far too long to work out how best to utilise the squad. Happy to provide more detail but if I do I fear you’ll merely criticise me for being negative.

I'd hoped the announcement was that with us teetering on the edge of promotion, some monied up investor had stepped up to help DC fund a campaign in the Championship, should we get there, but apparently the announcement is that you can't play cricket in the rain.
Oh, they're at Moor Farm on Monday too 🤷‍♀️

I moved to Canada in June 2023. It's been a great move for me, but apart from family my connection home has been through Derby County. I wish I saw more games during this season, but I've done a lot of hungover early starts to watch us grind out the wins that got us into this position.
And here we are. Portsmouth away seemed very significant. It's poetic in my own personal way that Derby will get promoted in the first season I can't go to any games. But from thousands of miles away, I finally feel a bit of confidence.
Long story short - This Wycombe car park ambulance chasing lot made me hate a lot of modern football, and I'd love to turn these over and tell the football world we are back.
As a Brit now in Canada following on and loving every second of this season...
We're going to win this one. Quote me, screenshot me, @ me.
    And we're getting f****** promoted.
