Still one of my favourite Rams goals & celebrations. This video, whoever's it is, always makes me smile

I like him a lot, it can't have been easy for him adapting to the physical demands of the Championship
His workrate & trickery have been excellent but just wish he could combine that with the shooting ability of someone like Tom Lawrence

This was the league table after we lost 3-0 to Boro on Nov 25th although I think we first went bottom before that

Unfortunately, that's an incredible stat, we've only equalised once all season. In fact, I think that is the only goal we've scored after another team has scored this season.
You forgot the red dogs which was another 2 points.

Very true, & another stat is we've actually only scored 9 goals from open play all season - in 29 games !!
Although 8 of those have come under Rooney
( & yes, i've got too much time on my hands )

    For the whole season
Points gained from a losing position - 0 - (we did equalise at Luton early in the season but ultimately lost the game)
    Points lost from a winning position - 8 - Cardiff H, Bournemouth A, Wycombe H, Coventry H - drew them all 1-1

Since Rooney took sole charge against Wycombe at home - 28 Nov
    Goals scored/conceded in 16 games
    1st half - scored 11, conceded 1
    2nd half - scored 5, conceded 9
Do we run out of steam a bit ? & if so, why do you think that is ?

I think some of this might be due to having a very thin squad until the end of the transfer window. Rooney didn't want to throw kids on with things so tight, so the starting 11 generally played longer than would be ideal. I suspect that now we have a reasonable bench, the stats will start to even up a bit.

This is what Rooney inherited so he's found a way of setting up well against most of our opponents since then.
When you look at how desperate our situation was I for one fully respect what he's done to get us out of that terrible mess, however uneasy on the eye it sometimes is

And the league table since Rooney's first win against Millwall on Dec 5
Also note that Swansea have only lost one game in that time - against us because Rooney found a way to set up against that particular opponent.
I expect us to NOT play 442 against Watford as Rooney will have identified a different system for a different opponent

What if Kazim had nodded in that open goal from a yard out?
    Just as valid really!

Player of the year for me so far. People on here were worried how we’d do without Bielik. I worry about how we’d do without CKR. His hold up play and energy is integral to us, and I think his presence and voice on the pitch really lifts the rest of the team. From minute one after joining us his attitude both on and off the pitch has been brilliant and think he was exactly what we needed around the start of December when it was looking pretty hopeless.

Definitely. I was thinking of Sheringham earlier when considering how some players can age. He was all about technique & intelligence and whilst CKR is much more physical, there are some similarities.
Position & level of football also plays a role, CFs need to be mobile but not rapidly so (Martin another example of that) & CBs (like Maldini/Baresi) can compensate for loss of pace with excellent positioning & decision making. By contrast, Rooney at DM was never going to work long term given the energy he needed to compete against the typical high press/high work rate midfields in the Championship. May have been a different story in a slower paced division i.e. in Spain or Italy, Beckham of course had a good spell in a very good AC Milan side aged 34/35
