SamUltraRam reacted to Duracell in Derby finally accept 21 point deduction.
Where was this energy from the football authorities when QPR went up in 2014?
It seems that because we weren't promoted as heroes in that playoff final, we lived long enough in the Championship to become the villains. Although we may have got a lucky escape like QPR if not for Roos' cabbage hands which he saves for special occasions.
I'd wouldn't find this such a bitter pill to swallow if I believed this was part of a wider project to completely shake up finances in English football, but it really isn't. It's a case of punishing the scene of the crime, rather than the criminal. The individuals whose terrible decision making led us to this position will likely financially recover long before the club and community does.
It seems the EFL believe that this points deduction will send some sort of message, but there will be another Derby. And another Derby after that. The kind of ego and personality willing to put a club in financial jeopardy in the name of promotion to the Premier League is plentiful in the world of business, and such personalities don't think "better not, this club could be on its knees after I'm gone."
So long as the football authorities pretend that this sort of financial mess is the actions of a few errant individuals rather than symptomatic of a broken financial model in the game, nothing will change. There will keep on being MMs, fueled by ego and enabled by dubious accounting, trying to compete with parachute payment clubs.

For me, the EFL became the bad guys when they used the words "disappointed" and "regrettable" when one of their attempts to punish us failed. Its a governing body and should be ran as such, the use of such language turned it into a witch hunt imo.
None of that takes any blame from Mel, it just makes the EFL look like they are not bothered about the actual rules and whether we have broken them, but rather they want to punish us because we appear to have broken the rules and are under pressure from powerful lobbying from outside their organisation.
Plus I'm biased. ???

Does this mean refs will be allowed to give us penalties now?

SamUltraRam reacted to Marriot Ram99 in Rams vs Blackburn Matchday Thread
Thought the positioning of our attacking players was all over the place in both defence(when pressing) and when transitioning from defence to attack, we seemed unbalanced and I'm not sure about the 4231 formation that we started out with. Think a 442 or a 433 with Knight, Bird and Morrison in the middle would work better. Shinnie doesn't have me convinced with his lack of ability transitioning the play from back to front. Can't rely on Bird too much.
Also would add that Bird was absolutely class today and has improved alot from last season, I used to be abit unsure on him but today has won me over.

SamUltraRam reacted to Steve Buckley’s Dog in Charlton Athletic and Ipswich Town to sue Derby County
Charlton Athletic are set to sue Derby County for £25 million after the ball burst in the 1946 FA Cup Final. If it hadn’t burst then we might have won or got some good players or something, said a Charlton spokesman. Meanwhile Ipswich Town also announced they were going to sue Derby County due to some reason or other. We might have won more games if they hadn’t beaten us in them, cited an Ipswich spokesman. It simply wasn’t fair that they had better players and scored more goals. We want £40 million and Martyn Waghorn back.
Meanwhile American fast food chain McDonalds announced that they were going to sue Derby County for fielding a player with their brand name. Flagrant breach of copyright, claimed a spokesman for the evil corporation.
In other news the EFL announced a further 9 points deduction for Derby County after the midlands side finished their 0-0 draw against Swansea with 5 full backs on the pitch. Everyone knows you should have two full backs, said a source close to Rick Parry. Derby ended the game with 5 players who full back could be considered their tecognised position. That is clearly too many. We checked the rules but couldn’t find anything specific about this so we all agreed that 3 points per extra full back sounded about right.
Meanwhile Wycombe have announced they aren’t going to sue Derby County for getting them relegated by buying Nick Blackman when they were two leagues below after they realised it was totally ridiculous and so far fetched as to be laughable.
*Has anything ever gone wrong with your football club? Not won enough points? Let in last minute winners to players who can’t even drive and park their car properly? Why not sue Derby County? Contact Gibson and Parry Solicitors for your claim form.

SamUltraRam got a reaction from ariotofmyown in Attacking play limitations
Some info for any statisticians out there :
All our home goals (5) have come in the 1st half - none scored in the 2nd half
All our away goals (2) have come in the 2nd half - none scored in the 1st half
Only 2 goals have been conceded in the 1st half all season home & away
Only 1 goal conceded from open play in the last 6 games
4 of the 8 goals conceded have come in the last 10 minutes of games
Derby haven't been awarded any penalties this season in the league - despite several clear and obvious incidents

Yes, very informative.
I was wondering if we are lucky enough to end up with 2 potential buyers, who do the administrators choose ?
eg. 1 bid is for £100m from an experienced, reliable football investment group
& 1 bid is for £120m from an inexperienced investment group with no track record in football - but they both pass the fit & proper test
who would the administrator choose ?
Do they have a duty to recover the most money or to sell to the best group for DCFC ?

SamUltraRam got a reaction from Rampage in Derby County Administration (with the slight possibility of Liquidation still there)
I guess that is an important reason why we have to keep trying to pick up points - in case others collapse this season
But what a terrible endorsement of English football that would be - but possible
I remember a few years ago, there was some ridiculous idea of lower league clubs becoming feeder clubs for some of the premiership teams - I think that possibility is now far more likely i'm afraid

SamUltraRam got a reaction from David Graham Brown in Simon Jordan
Even the BBC website's headline yesterday was about how Rooney wouldn't have taken the job if he had known the full financial situation.
The headline should have been that the administrators are positive about finding new ownership - but that doesn't get as many 'clicks'
