c£10m on non player wages seems very high. Especially as a lot of staff were made redundant during admin. Is there any detail on that?
That's what i'm thinking
I have no idea how many employees we have at DCFC but that's the equivalent of 50 employees on £100k pa plus 100 employees on £50k pa

Pearce explained this in his radio derby interview.
Basically we had reached the limit we were allowed in our wage budget (for contracted players). So we did a deal with Charlton where we pay them a lump sum which covers a loan fee and his remaining months wages. Then come the summer when our agreed business plan ends, we can add him to our books.
That's how I interpreted it anyway.
I wonder if that's the problem then, we would have to give Gayle a contract & the EFL say that we've already reached the limit - but we explain that we've sold Bird & we have no fit strikers so please let us sign him ?
Maybe we'll have to give him a 'week to week' contract to get around it

Wasn't there something odd about the CBT deal with Charlton ?
Something Charlton said about it's a loan deal rather than a permanent signing to help us with the business plan ?
So God knows what fine details remain with the EFL

In the Championship Season 2021-22, game 2 under Rooney
We were the early kick off away at Peterborough and when Jack Stretton gave us the lead, I took a screenshot before Peterborough scored 2 late goals to beat us
There was even some tongue in cheek but brief chanting of " we are top of the league" 🤣

I think we'll get a loan in who no one really knows a lot about but many will become expert in the never make it/wunderkinder debate.
Probably a centre half.
Probably German.
It won't be Tony Springett - gone on loan to Northampton

Whatever happens, the teams around us have strengthened more than we have. Bolton have made 3 quality signings, similar to Pompey. Despite the fact we’ve signed CBT we have also lost our back up forward for the season. The midfield still isn’t right either and we’re one injury away from Cashin/Nelson/Collo and we are going to struggle.
very similar to last January window unless we can pull a rabbit out of the hat.
True, Nelson was struggling in the last 15 minutes on Saturday & Collo is 2 bookings (in the next 8 games) away from a 2 game ban

If Namibia lose to Mali, which they probably will, there's a good chance that they'll finish bottom of the league and he can return - probably not in time for Saturday but definitely for the next game
I think it's the best 4 3rd place teams that go through
-
He wouldn't fit into our system & I wouldn't want him anyway
My point is he's still doing it at his ripe old age
It's just an observation rather than anything else

By the end of the month, Warne is going to have a pleasant problem - how to keep the squad players happy
Once Nyambe is back, the 6 outfield players selected for the bench will be fully loaded
Bradley, Ward, Elder, Smith, Fornah, Thompson, Sibley, Barkhuizen, John-Jules, Waghorn - only Washington & Rooney missing long term
4 of those 10 will not even make the matchday squad which is crazy strength for this level - plus we may make additions in January

When was the last time we won when 'live on Sky'?
Probably completely unfounded, but I honestly can't remember!
We were on Sky 5 times last season, all away matches, drew 2, lost 3
The previous season we had 8 home games live on Sky, winning 4, drawing 3 & losing 1. The most recent Sky win was the last live one that season, beating Fulham in April 2022

We were in a London pub after the game and there was a small group of Worcester Derby fans with a Norwegian Rams fan who had flown over for the game

No Forsyth apparently. First match in a while, will it be Elder at LB then?
I think he's had 5 bookings so it must be a one game suspension
James Collins is on 4 bookings with 3 games to go before the limit gets bumped to 10 bookings
-
Yeah, just noticed that
So that could be NML, Washington, Nyambe & Fornah ( called up by Sierre Leone ) plus do Hourihane or Cashin get called up ?

From the list below, I'm realistically hoping for 2) but witnessing 4)
1 ) Play good football and win
2) Play dour football and win
3) Play good football, not win but see what is trying to be achieved
4) Play a style/tactic that is not good to watch , isn't consistently winning & does not seem like changing any time soon
5) Play bad football & not win
PS. No, I don't want to set up another vote

Don't know why but my idea of what 'Big Trav' looks like is similar to 'Big Vern' from the Viz magazine
Maybe that's why he gets his inside info
