c£10m on non player wages seems very high. Especially as a lot of staff were made redundant during admin. Is there any detail on that?

    That's what i'm thinking

I have no idea how many employees we have at DCFC but that's the equivalent of 50 employees on £100k pa plus 100 employees on £50k pa

Pearce explained this in his radio derby interview.

Basically we had reached the limit we were allowed in our wage budget (for contracted players). So we did a deal with Charlton where we pay them a lump sum which covers a loan fee and his remaining months wages. Then come the summer when our agreed business plan ends, we can add him to our books.

That's how I interpreted it anyway.

I wonder if that's the problem then, we would have to give Gayle a contract & the EFL say that we've already reached the limit - but we explain that we've sold Bird & we have no fit strikers so please let us sign him ?

Maybe we'll have to give him a 'week to week' contract to get around it

Whatever happens, the teams around us have strengthened more than we have. Bolton have made 3 quality signings, similar to Pompey. Despite the fact we’ve signed CBT we have also lost our back up forward for the season. The midfield still isn’t right either and we’re one injury away from Cashin/Nelson/Collo and we are going to struggle.

very similar to last January window unless we can pull a rabbit out of the hat.

True, Nelson was struggling in the last 15 minutes on Saturday & Collo is 2 bookings (in the next 8 games) away from a 2 game ban

  4. By the end of the month, Warne is going to have a pleasant problem - how to keep the squad players happy

Once Nyambe is back, the 6 outfield players selected for the bench will be fully loaded

Bradley, Ward, Elder, Smith, Fornah, Thompson, Sibley, Barkhuizen, John-Jules, Waghorn - only Washington & Rooney missing long term

4 of those 10 will not even make the matchday squad which is crazy strength for this level - plus we may make additions in January

When was the last time we won when 'live on Sky'?

Probably completely unfounded, but I honestly can't remember!

We were on Sky 5 times last season, all away matches, drew 2, lost 3

The previous season we had 8 home games live on Sky, winning 4, drawing 3 & losing 1. The most recent Sky win was the last live one that season, beating Fulham in April 2022

  6. From the list below, I'm realistically hoping for 2) but witnessing 4)

1 ) Play good football and win

    2) Play dour football and win

    3) Play good football, not win but see what is trying to be achieved

    4) Play a style/tactic that is not good to watch , isn't consistently winning & does not seem like changing any time soon

    5) Play bad football & not win

PS. No, I don't want to set up another vote
