There’s been plenty of polls and a few ‘Warne Out’ comments, but thought I’d start the definitive ‘Warne Out Out’ post, which as fans of a particular Sarf London comedian means ‘properly out!’
No messing, I was on his side at first, but am tired of the utter banality of our football; mid table mediocrity and I don’t care what he did at Rotherham.
Please can we bring back some McLaren-esque footy, something to actually ‘entertain’ the fans? I’m sure I read somewhere that football should be entertaining 🤷‍♂️

I feel for the fans, I really do.
It’s a stupid amount of money to travel to away games nowadays, you’d expect a level of competence above what we’re giving as a MINIMUM.
I wasn’t there, but followed Radio Derby and the fan chatter on here and it sounds like we couldn’t make 3 passes for the majority of the match 🤷‍♂️ what the hell is that about?
The ONLY crumb of comfort is that a new manager CAN turn things around very quickly, I again think of Mac when he took over from Clough Jnr.
But, Clowes needs to act and we need to get the RIGHT man, and that’s the million-dollar question, who is right for Derby right now 🤷‍♂️

ps, sorry for the capitals, don’t mean to shout, I’ve let football ruin my weekend, AGAIN!! 😞

My condolences go to his family.

He was a great ambassador for the sport.
On a separate note, however, queue the SkySports love-in.
I mean this with no disrespect, but SkySports are so far up Man U's a*se, that they will be milking this news to the enth degree.

As I say though, a great ambassador for football.

Many more positives than negatives for me, including:
    * The defence looks solid
    * New signings Nyambe and Fornah look excellent and John-Jules, albeit on little evidence, looks very good too
    * Bird, Barkhuizen and Wilson are back in the squad
The biggest issue imo is a lack of pace and movement up front. A Sturridge type striker with anticipation and pace gets on the end of two or three of those crosses today. Collins is too cumbersome. When fit, I'd hope to see John-Jules leading the line but until then I'd like to see Brown on the bench as an option.

I purposely didn't read the forum until I was home and I'm so glad because you saved me the bother of posting earlier because its exactly what I would have said.
Every week its constant moaning about just launching the ball aimlessly, yet today we played the ball constantly on the floor.  Passing was fairly crisp and our control really good. Lots of angled balls between their backline but then our final ball was either poor, the shot blocked, we didn't attack the ball or it just didn't fall right.
Pretty much controlled the game and if we'd had a better striker and/or a bit more luck then we would have won 2 or 3 nil. Set pieces were pretty poor to be honest though.
The boos were aimed at the ref/linesman who were awful 2nd half.
I actually enjoyed the game other than our failure to score,  and its clear the agenda of a few regular posters is just to moan relentlessly, regardless thus rendering the match day thread almost pointless so I will avoid it in the future I'm afraid.
Disappointed and of course 'we should be beating' Cambridge but we missed good chances and were the only team playing football.

If it wasn’t for Rosenior’s little black phone book at the start of last year, we could have dropped like a stone.

Yep, a much better performance than any other at home but no luck in front of a packed goalmouth. The new guys in midfield and right back have added some defensive steel, but as we all know we lack something up front.
Yes I was frustrated by the end, but that is football when you can’t get it in the net.

A big part of the problem is that a crowd of top Championship/Premiership size and expectations is having to watch budget players of Div 1 standard and the frustration at lack of quality is obvious. But that is where we are at and as with Sunderland, Ipswich etc before us found it may be sometime yet till we find the right balance and escape!
As I recall back in the 80’s when we were down there it was a lucky pen which got us out. For much of the time crowds were half what we get at present and not full of people fed a constant diet of Premiership football to judge the team against. We have to be patient.

Those saying that they don’t like loan players are not keeping up with modern life.
    We don’t own anything anymore.
We buy cars on monthly credit, we buy houses, owned by the bank, on ridiculously long mortgages. We don’t buy CD’s and DVD’s anymore because we pay monthly to streaming services  such as Spotify and Netflix.
Apart from the clothes on our back, for many in the U.K., we own surprisingly little and, even then, some of it is on the credit card.
It’s the same with players at lower league levels; if you can’t afford top talent, you HAVE to rent them.
I recommend, therefore, a new mindset for loan naysayers.
Relax, enjoy and support the team on a Season-By-Season basis, I.E., if Clark signs, fully support him because he IS a Derby player for this season and NOT a Liverpool player (Unless he’s recalled in Jan 😞)
I follow NFL and they have such a stupid turnaround of talent every season, through trades etc, fans have adopted a saying: ‘Don’t get addicted to the talent’
In other words, accept a player is playing for you THAT season, marvel at their skills but DON’T fall in love with them, because they may be off elsewhere next season.
So, if Clark signs, or whoever we may loan, and they turn out to be the next messiah, be thankful that we had a season to enjoy them and wish them all the best at the end 😎
