We were also the first ever team to be top of any league in history, after winning game 1 in the first season of the football league.
    ...you'll never sing that.

With Bird going and Hourihane's contract up at the end of the year, I wonder if Adams + Fornah is his plan for next year? Suspect Smith will go too.

My mum grew up in a house in the 1930's that was, in my time, the car-park outside the C Stand/main office entrance. Me Uncle would store all the bikes in the back garden (had long gardens then) for a penny (or whatever the minimum currency was!).
My dad wasn't into football so I was about 15 when I first went (without my parents knowing) so circa 1987. It was so utterly frantic I don't even know who it was against but as soon as I stood in the Popside, I thought 'this is a bit of me'. It was scary, loud and the away fans were utterly nuts. I knew absolutely nothing about football at the time (some would argue I still don't) but the energy and atmosphere was just addictive. It felt like being in a movie albeit a rough one!
Was home and away most of the time until kids came along. My lad (now 21) is fascinated of my stories of the BBG - whilst he never experienced it, he says he misses it! I think that whole, raw, passionate thing has it's draw.

You can't say "Sensationalism doesn't change the facts" and then in the next breath say "How many chances did he get against Cheltenham? 1... and he scored it". You are literally using sensationalism to change the facts!
And the facts are (as illustrated above) his chance to goal ratio isn't great. The stats say it, we've seen it.
Anyway, this is done to death. You'll hear no more from me.

Suspect it's based on 2 things:
    1) Reduced weekly rate vs 1 year deal
    2) Sports science team will have a proper view on his biological age, etc so they know

He want straight into Premier League football and coped, I personally don't think Cashin will be a premier league player but none of us know. Big jump from doing well in League 1 to facing some of the best forwards in the world

I was thinking that as I typed but I feel Cashin is better all round and as Srg says, Riggs was injured a lot. Although it's true that obviously they played at very different levels so guess the jury is still out until Cash plays at a higher level.

In my era, it would be McG, Stimac and I'm struggling for a stand-out beyond those. Plenty of decent players but those two stand out as class for me. Perhaps Larsen or Craig Short. Yates was good albeit injury did for him. I feel like I'm forgetting someone...
Cashin - I really rate him. It's not often that CB's are this good, this young. He's a very good all rounder too - can pass, head, good timing, etc.

I'm local too. My 2 sons were born and bred just 18Km from the Ajax stadium. They are both staunch Rams fans. Internationally they will support Holland.... unless they are playing England. Choice? Hell, NO!

The daft thing is, if you stuck everyone in a pub, I'm pretty sure it'd be all smiles and everyone would get on like a house on fire.
It's damn near impossible to articulate what you are trying to say exactly on an internet forum and so much gets misinterpreted and lost in translation and then arguments occur when the individuals actually likely agree.

It looks like I struck a chord with the opening post and I'm very pleasantly surprised that it kicked of a bit of an 'Arguers Anonymous' therapy session, with several posters being honest and contrite enough to hold their hands up and admit to getting drawn into personal spats.
On the evidence of this thread, most of the members of Arguers Anonymous are not your archetypal keyboard warrior but seem like Rams-mad, articulate, intelligent people who on occasions let themselves go a bit too far. It gives me hope it can become largely self-regulating.
I don't want to leave the forum and I'm reluctant to use 'ignore' as many of the things that irk me are good points made in a poor way - but I'd like it to be a bit more footy focused and a bit more civil and I sort of get the impression that several self-confessed arguers would like the same - without losing the core element of the forum........opinions, debate, humour and camaraderie.
I don't understand computer coding so no idea if I'm asking for a 2 minute fix or 2 years of hard work but could we add something like B4's panda profile pick to the emoji list so that anyone can, very politely, give a bit of a 'could you have made your (often completely valid) point in a less provocative way' nudge?.......i.e. be a bit more B4

Oh my goodness, what a response!
Hello everyone, I’m Claire, Daniel’s (B4) sister. I am overwhelmed by your kind words, support, and the memories you have shared.  Thank you so much for the kindness and love you have all shown to Daniel over the years. My parents are working their way through all of the posts and will offer their own thanks in due course.
I wish I knew about the scraves, flanges and ballions before now. I wouldn’t have let Daniel live that down at home. This made my husband and I laugh this morning.
I will be wearing Daniel’s shirt and keeping his seat warm at the Bristol match. Really looking forward to hearing a big cheer and round of applause in the 38th minute, a goal at the time would be perfect!  Do please continue to share the picture with details of the applause. Let’s raise the roof for Daniel!!!
    Thank you all again ❤️

Connor Washington came across really, really well in his interview. Smart, sensible comments and came across as a bit brighter than the average footballer. Seemed to talk, albeit briefly, about aspects of the game that PW just doesn't but perhaps that's just a style thing - i.e. PW says it in a more... layman's fashion whereas I think as fans, we actually want to understand more about the tactical side in detail.
Anyway, CW - gone up in my estimation.
Collins however - missed some sitters.

Whether it was Cashin not playing or not, it's undeniable Sonny Bradley, particularly first half, strode 3 or 4 paces forward when he received it and not only hit it sideways with pace, also fired it to feet through the middle. This hadn't happened all season.
