Quite common in most clubs. The candidates all had suitable CV’s ... None of us were fundamentally opposed to any of the appointments at the time. We might have had a dislike of either Pearson’s 1970’s PE teacher mode or the razzmatazz of Lampard but they were all typical of football. We have had every variety with the exception of trying to recruit the sort of tough guy agricultural manager with a “proven record” (although Pearson might fit that bill) . where everyone would have moaned about the lack of ambition.
The transfer policy “errors” started with Bryson and Hughes being injured in the same match which lead to panic buying at inflated prices. At the time, these were seen as bold, supportive and positive moves. Your are eating hindsight by the KFC family bucket load.
The financial state of the club ? .. Mel filled it with money .. some spent well, some badly .. We haven’t had a fiscal mismanagement situation or anything “taken” from the club by Mel. We got in a mess on FFP and Mel coughed up by buying the stadium and paying the club money for it.
Sam Rush ? Is Mel really responsible for another man’s ethics ? ( or lack of them ? )
The fiasco ? .. Someone broke their pledges or didn’t meet their obligations .. it wasn’t Mel. Maybe Mel shouldn’t  have trusted them but good business and life is defined by trust. You have to start somewhere. Has anyone thought about Mel here ? He has obviously had some serious health issues yet he hasn’t flinched from being a DCFC man
yes, for sure, be sceptical or wary of new owners, we all are, we care about our club, but Mel has been a straight shooter from day one. Some of the things he’s done or wanted to do didn’t work out but he is trustworthy beyond doubt . Now maybe those he has trusted are sharks .. but that’s a different story.

I cannot believe how you have such a judgmental attitude to a guy who has given his best efforts and a shed load of money to this club. Your judgement is littered with an astounding lack of logical analysis.

A strike of top, top quality that I never seen coming saved the night from being a huge disappointment for me. The onus was on us as the home team and I thought we were pretty poor. If I was Wayne Rooney, I wouldn’t want to be associated with a performance like that and I hope he addresses the lack of intent pronto because much as I love what he’s achieved so far, that what we’ve just witnessed just won’t do.

A really professional performance that. Surprised about Rooney saying he got it wrong first half as I thought he'd nailed it - Jozwiak/Waghorn offering little so they went to the bench, Huddersfield like the ball so pack midfield, bring our full backs into the game more & hit them on the break. First 15 mins we were very on the back foot but only once got cut open for Campbell's chance. Our goal massively changed the dynamic of the game & thereafter the Knight-Shinnie-Bird triangle started to become very difficult for them to get through.
Very brave of Rooney to make two subs at half time but both Jozwiak/Waghorn changes worked well as the game started to stretch with Huddersfield looking for the equaliser. Also noticed the co-ordinated press led by Knight in particular - it seemed very pre-meditated the way we'd hone on players particularly on the flank surrounding them very quickly with 2 or 3 players.
Cracking second by Waghorn - delighted for him after enduring such a long run without a goal & sublime ball from Kazim who has a real eye for a cracking pass (did v similar for Jozwiak v Middlesbrough). By the end, we were totally dominant & think 2-0 flattered them somewhat.
Notable performances all over the park - Bird, Knight & Wisdom all played great but MOM has to be the main man, King Kazim. So dominant against their CBs, some great defensive work in his own box & a fantastic spot to put Waghorn in for the second.

I can't understand when we've snatched a last minute win in a bloody difficult match  that posters are lining up to have a dig, either at individual players, the manager, or the team as a whole.
It's almost like it's more important for you to prove your status as an amateur FM genius than it is for you to jump up and down, celebrate with the players and take the win with a big grin on your face.
We've come out of matches this season where we have played ten times better than that with zero points so I am not going to complain when we're the ones coming away with the points.
I'm not sure some people understand that it's the Manager's job to do that and it's our job to get behind the team.
We kept going tonight until the final whistle and we won. Fact.

He certainly comes across as knowing what he’s talking about, at least. Been pretty impressed with the way he analyses games, he’s surprised me a lot in that respect to be honest, this is coming from someone who was very much against his appointment in the first place of course. He doesn’t speak in soundbites, he just says straight up what he’s seen out on the pitch - what went well, and what needs to improve. Very simple, and a breath of fresh air with his honesty. Seems to have a lot more tactical insight than many would give him credit for.

Jozwiaks game is all about dribbling and running down the wing. He can’t when the ball bobbles all over the place. Messi would struggle to dribble on our pitch right now. Yesterday when he tried to get on a dribble the ball slowed down or took a bobble forcing him to stop. For me he did his job very well yesterday. Ran in behind and created problem for the fullback when he didn’t have the ball. Had a very good work rate and won the ball countless times. Some people need to cut him some slack

Look to the Rotherham games. We saw what they were going to do on the first game. We try and play out from the back and they didn't allow us time on the ball. It was incredibly disappointing to not change our approach on the second game and we got done again after knowing how they'd play.
The dross set out to stop us by not allowing us time on the ball. Teams at the other end are playing their own game and not specifically setting out to stop us.
I'm glad we have the second striker now so we can change our approach from playing out from the back, to lump it up to the strikers with a view to them holding up the ball and bringing others into play. Hopefully this will now keep other guessing about how we will play. Bring on Wycombe.

To be honest I think Boro are a better version of the likes of Rovrum. I think we can take heart from the performance because it wasn't pretty. It was more of a roll your sleeves up and battle type of affair and I thought we were good value for the win. There seemed to be a tweaking of the style too. It wasn't exactly hoofball but we did seem to set out to not allow them to press high up the pitch. It suggests to me that Rooney and Rosenior are aware of the problem we have against sides like Boro and found a pretty cute way to address it.
In this league it helps if you have some technical ability when you come up against the better sides, but to do well, you have to be able to win ugly too. Today I thought we showed that actually, we can do that too. It was a pleasant change to see us really frustrate a team and I don't think we ever looked like losing. Had we not given away a few silly freekicks late in the game, there'd not have been an anxious moment, to my eyes at least and I think that's a big step forward.

    1. It wasn’t the money. WR was attracted by the opportunity Derby provided to seemlessly progress into management thanks to the pitch that MM provided.

    2. Wrong again. I suspect MM has been working tirelessly to got things done. We have a very well-run Club which will be once again competing at the top before too long. Events beyond our control have had an impact but these things will be sorted.

Two things stand out for me.
The first is the fitness levels. Everyone seems fitter. So much energy in the full back areas, the midfield are always closing down, and Knight and Kazim are great at defending from the front.
Second is, for me, the most important. The long awaited return of having some gamesmanship to us. We were too nice under Cocu. We now stop them taking quick free kicks by kicking the ball away or picking it up, we argue with the ref, we push players over when they clear the ball, we leave our foot in on defenders. It all makes the opposition more unsettled. Nobody wants Kazim or Knight closing then down and leaving a bit on them.
