Mike knows a bargain when he sees one. He would probably spend enough to get us in the Premier League, then enough to just keep us in it. I would take that right now.

Ashley has the money in his pocket and could probably buy it tomorrow if he wants it. If he wants it, I cannot see anyone beating him to it. He is entirely focussed to get administration bargains. I would welcome him. We would not go into administration with Ashley. More likely that he would make a few quid out of us when somebody offers big good money for us.

I have a feeling that when the dust settles, Mel will be seen to have done the best for the Rams that he could have done and found to have been let down by some people. We will see.

League 1 a lot less attractive. Could be down there for ever. Need to fight any points deduction if possible.

Despite our excellent results so far this squad isnt good enough to stay in this division, you throw in a points penalty whatever it may be, i am sure we will have more penalties coming.

it's a complete waste of time and resources. we should be planning life for league one and that should be along the lines of savouring every penny we have - not fighting stupid legal battles. So if its not staff that are suffering, we are gonna have to pay that bill with a player sale in january anyway.

The admins realise comms have been a problem, that the fans want updates, so there is an information flow to the journos that keeps us all happy enough   I think they’re doing a decent job

As I have said the fact they are trying to broker a six point deduction rather than go to a tribunal or Court which would decide whether it should be 12 or zero.

I agree, this is not a scenario that the EFL wants, it is possible we could negotiate a deal. We do have a case based on Covid, might not win it but we could. The EFL need to decide if they can risk losing and the floodgates opening or making a compromise where we accept a number, say 6 (6 suspended) for admin and 9 for FFP. the total would have to be more than the 12 we already have.
lets see as we don't have a lot to go on

You say this, but I think we would have a comfortable life under Ashley. He has a poor reputation for Newcastle, but in all fairness he established them as a lower premier league side. Would you not take that? I certainly would.

We have a value as either a league 1 or league 2 club and a going concern ..
The huge question is what is that value and will it exceed what MSD can get for whatever assets it has a lien / first call over. ?

If those values as L1 L2 DCFC doesn’t exceed the figures they can get for their share of the fixed assets  then we are in serious do do
What are the players worth in cash ?  …. Given contracts are running down and knowing what we paid for Nathan Byrne values are tumbling … which actually might be good for us
What is the Stadium / Moor farm worth
This is a hardball game .. I am appalled at how slowly the EFL are working in regard to pints deductions  .. we are a member, regardless of administration.. The EFL needs to come clean and play fair or, one could conclude, they are failing protect both their members and the integrity of their competition !

Derby County is being reborn from the centre of its fan base. It is like a snowball rolling downhill with no yellow bits in it. Rooney is revitalising the Club. Welcome to the Alamo.

Your best guess is as good as mine ?. We can’t tell not least because we don’t know how much debt is MSD and how much is MM ‘soft loans’ to be written off.

The ‘plug’ in the numbers is HMRC, because they will take all they can get but they will avoid pushing us into liquidation. The other numbers are hard wired

The admins have said 95% chance of survival. which tells us they are confident someone will bid enough. I think 32 may have helped quite a bit but that’s a guess

Glass half-full?  I saw a lot of this angst being played out on Coventry City Forums.  I think you will survive.  You have the best supported club in the Midlands apart from Vile.  Passion makes up for lack of bums on seats.  One way or another you will get through this as a group of supporters.  Derby had points deductions for Admin in the past.
I just hope you move forward once out of Admin.  The prem needs more clubs from the Midlands in it.

I think it’s when the admins reckon there is no realistic prospect of the club continuing as a going concern.
i e if they conclude that there is no buyer who is willing to pay enough to clear MSD, football creditors, 25% of unsecureds and whatever HMRC settles for plus the admins costs

It isn’t the letter of the law. EFL are not bound to pursue points deductions for FFP breaches. They are not forced to fo anything.

The outstanding tax bill will not be paid in full. Some of it is not a preferred creditor status and even preferred creditor status does not mean you get paid in full.

Essentially sounds like he wasn’t able to guarantee he could repay the loan, so we couldn’t apply for it.
