In a recent interview Arthur said they are looking at changing the batting order with next season in mind, which hopefully means Guest down the order. Maybe Reece at 3? He also mentioned Andersson as a potential number 6 though I don't think so in this game

Pat Brown bowled 5 overs against Middlesex. With four bowlers already in the team Reece and Lloyd can share the fifth bowler duty if needed. Stack that batting and we might make 200 😬
Will be interesting to see what the pitch is like. A lot of runs and a lot of draws at Leicester in recent times, but they got thrashed by Yorkshire a couple of weeks back, bowled out for 98 and 209.

I like the idea of the Jewell signing. Someone who is here for the whole season - won’t go off playing various competitions and probably has his heart in a little more.
He also has something to prove if he harbours international ambitions.
Opening batsman as well. It’s what we need and he probably doesn’t break the bank.
With Morley (hopefully) and Andersson coming in, I also imaging we have budget for a final quality overseas player - whatever position that is in.

I'm assuming Elder will be added to the injury list, so Forsyth starts and Wilson takes the vacant spot on the bench. Ozoh, Thompson and Barkhuizen will be out for a couple more games at least.

I don’t think signing Morley rules that out, we had 3 spinners in MA’s first two seasons. Thomson seems to be injured a lot too.

For entertainment value he's certainly right up there. Could have been even greater for us if injuries hadn't struck at the wrong time.

Agree. My main gripe has been fans standing when my nipper was little and he couldn’t see and more recently fans standing in front of my dad who is 87 and can’t stand. Waste of time him going now.

There must be cameras on the crowd at games. It wouldn’t take long for stewards to subsequently point out those who have been abusive (and I mean overly aggressive or illegal) ?
We have to protect ourselves against this hooligan element. 
I think the police have a role to play too. They need to have a word with those who are clearly intoxicated to point out they could be refused entry or ejected if they misbehave.

 

Even more so when Sharp is on his third club since leaving the club that the morons are chanting it at. It all started many years ago when drunken idiots got Ched Evans and Billy Sharp confused. Note that no other clubs have this problem against Sharp as he's specifically mentioned in numerous interviews about the abuse he gets from Derby, some sadly targeting his passed child. It's purely repulsive.

I like how they state in that article his batting average of 39 over the last 3 seasons doesn't jump off the page…yet it would make him an instant hero for us 😂

There’s three ways to go with an overseas. Big star name who will play a few games, aging veteran at the backend of his career, or up and coming player looking to make a name for himself. 
Caleb Jewell fits into the latter at 27 years old and if you get it right and they stay loyal to you and come back year after year it can be huge. See David Bedingham and Simon Harmer as two of the best current examples.
Jewell is a powerful opening batsman for all formats, who’s impressed for Australia A and talked about as on the brink of the Australian team over there. Could be a very shrewd move 🤞
