Pitch encroachment is a criminal offence.
With that, the club are duty bound to remind fans prior to the game, you cannot criticise them for that.
The same message is repeated at the end of every season, regardless of what we have or don't have to celebrate.
It's a hey, we did ask the fans not to, we also had sufficient low paid staff in high viz jackets around the perimeter of the ground to the governing body. What can they actually do more to prevent it other than bringing back cages?
Prosecuting thousands of fans is never going to happen, so it will be the club that will pay the price with a possible fine if the EFL see fit.
Do or do not, my opinion matters not, I think we all know it will happen regardless of what is said on here and by the club.
I just hope we don't have any numb nuts that have been on the Carling and marching powder taking it too far attacking staff, players or opposition fans, should be a time to celebrate, not use it as an excuse to be a thug.
And on the what have we got to celebrate topic, yeah we're "just" going back to the Championship, however it wasn't a normal relegation by any standards and returning after 2 seasons given where the club was, is very much a reason to celebrate with our sanctions also being lifted next season.
This does feel like a fresh start moment for the club, I will be having a drink or two or three or more tonight if Warne and the boys get the 3 points this afternoon.
Disagree? That's not illegal, just don't piss on the parade, especially with the anti Warne stuff when the bloke will have completed the first stage in his objectives.
We're on our way, we're on our way, to the Championship, we're on our way, how we get there, I don't know, how we get there, I don't care, all I know that Derby's on their way...🎵🐏

I think that, provided we're promoted, we should turn the Carlisle game into a Truth & Reconciliation event where, after the game, any fan who booed the team, sang "Paul Warne, your football is s*it", phoned into RD for a good old moan or screamed into Conor Hourihane's face at Stevenage should have the opportunity to do a lap of dishonour on their knees while receiving the forgiveness of the players, management and their fellow supporters.
What do you guys think? 😉

They are chanting warnes name AFTER games now , that’s not in game chants to raise the team , it’s praise for the job he is doing and well deserved it is too , he’s also not jumping in on the bounce to steal the players / fans joy , he is maintaining that line as the boss with a job to do , some on here may not like it but the majority of fans at games are giving Warne the respect and praise he deserves for what he is creating at derby ,
there’s an honesty and culture at the club now that’s been missing for a long time and I for one want to see where he can take it given time and a bit more to spend

Potentially, but those 'better' signings all come with drawbacks (usually age). Ultimately, all free agents are in that position for a reason. It's easy to look at past credentials and say ''these players are better because of their CVs so we should walk the league'' but the reality is that, to be really harsh, these are other clubs' castoffs...
Given Warne has repeatedly emphasised the importance of athleticism and pace within his system, the pool of players we could sign does not really fit the 23-28 year old demographic that we ideally want, as players in this age range are usually under contract.
I just think these constraints hardly get mentioned, but getting promoted without being able to buy a single player justifies turning to efficient football. It just seems fairly entitled to sit here in 2nd place, with a fantastic chance to go up, and be moaning about style of play; especially when there are mitigating factors as to why we may have had to turn to pragmatism. ''Trying to play better football'' with the players we have at our disposal may have cost us a chance at promotion, would that have been worth it?

I don't think the fanbase is that divided - at the match there's plenty of pro-warne chants for example. A few posters on here give the impression of a split fanbase, but the reality is different. It's like reading twitter and thinking the world is mental, whereas in reality you've just stumbled across some nutters in the village square.

I have the radio on, so I can shout at it. Then if we are losing badly the black dog descends and the radio is turned off. Then all the mental gymnastics kick in. If I leave it switched off the boys will surprise me, or alternatively I have to keep listening cos they need me, or If I keep listening I’ll jinx them. So I go and cut grass .. but then slip back to BBc sport on an iPad just to check of its “safe to come out” Away games for half fans is torture !

I doubt that Collins would have been in the box in the first place...he's reverted back to being anywhere but where he needs to be!
Gayle on the other hand would have both been in the box at the right time and have had the ability to score both.

The job Warne has done, since Stevenage away, has been exemplary.
You cannot play one touch 50 pass moves with league 1 players. Not feasible. If we blow it, and have to face up to another season down here, Warne is definitely the man to rebuild us and go again.
If we go up, he will have earnt the right to build a Championship squad and have a go at keeping us up, as per his original brief.
I know he's marmite, with his off-beat personality profile, but he's clearly an honest and genuine man and it's hard to see a nice guy cop for abuse.

It’s more to do with the level these athletes are playing at these days and the toll it takes on the body. To get to the peak of physical fitness can often put you at a breaking point where you push your body beyond its comfort zone too often, leading to more muscle strain/tear injuries.
Plus with modern physios and doctors checking in on players regularly, these problems are identified much more regularly than they used to be.
Im not saying players from back in the day weren’t skilful, but the game was different physically and training wasn’t as intense as it is these days. This meant there were more rest and recovery periods for players compared to todays daily schedule for professional squads.

I have such mixed feelings. I can see the view of those who just don’t like our current style, yet what is fundamentally wrong with using wingers and getting the ball in the box ? It’s simplistic but it’s not kick and rush and I would challenge anyone who suggests it is. We have some intelligent players. Then dial in that this is L1 with the level touch, consistency and quality defined by that league  - which when lacking (which it is sometimes) makes silky tick tac midfield interchanges a bit of a lottery. Warne has adopted a style that best suits the skill set and consistency of the squad we have. The optimist in me thinks with a step up in quality there is nothing to say PW won’t change his preferences. We won’t know until A .. we’ve seen what’s available in new players, B if we can afford them and C if they want to come. For me he must have at least half a season to prove himself. And … can we honestly criticise him if the funds / players / opportunities are not there for him to adjust his current working model. ?

The football hasn’t been electric but it has been entertaining, puzzling, awkward, frustrating and occasionally exciting…in equal measure. The clicheed suggestions from certain quarters that it’s crude or “Warne ball” are limp, inaccurate and unfair.

We need some youth, we need improved touch and skill quality and a striker that scares people. The rest is fate but it’s 50 years since we could puff our chests out and really justify it on the field of play against all comers. That isn’t PW’s fault.

    Good point. No plan B!
Whereas Warne has a Plan A, B and C. We sometimes see all three in the same match. 😂
Just an aside, Warne wasn't at the Supporters Club event last night because he'd gone to watch Cambridge at Bristol Rovers. Even at this late stage of the season, he's leaving no stone unturned in his quest to get us up. He works as hard as he expects from the players.

I think we've seen enough Championship football to know that largely the teams that linger near the bottom has some form of football or financial instability. Just take this season for example, the bottom 13 teams have had a change in manager during this season, some with multiple changes. This idea of sacking Warne as soon as he's promoted the club just screams Chansiri.
The only goal should hopefully we get promoted will be to stay up and Warne more than deserves his shot and dare I say more than achievable when there's plenty of basketcase clubs in that league who will spend most of the summer in a manager recruitment rat race.

Was there all this negativity when Arthur Cox's team scraped into third place in this league courtesy of a dodgy penalty in 1985/86?
Fortunately, that was the last season before the play offs were introduced, who knows what would have happened had we have to have gone through that process?

I think they like the novelty - and the fact it churns things up to have discussions about.  We could have Klopp, lose a game, and the same remarks would be made.  Or:

"he's only here for the money"
"he might understand Premier League tactics but he doesn't get the Championship"
"his standards are too high - and they don't want to play for him"
"he is a high budget manager that got 'lucky' with the players".  Without Salah he is a busted flush"
"I don't like his sense of humour".
"he is signing players the top top clubs don't want.  He should go after world class players, pay them peanuts and offer no transfer fee because we are Derby - don't they realise how lucky they are?"
