In all fairness, despite not playing well. We should have won.

The chances that Adams and Waghorn missed were absolute sitters.

You could argue if they had fallen to Collins he would have scored both.

I doubt that Collins would have been in the box in the first place...he's reverted back to being anywhere but where he needs to be!

Gayle on the other hand would have both been in the box at the right time and have had the ability to score both.

I enjoy reading @RoyMac5 posts with regards to style of football. To me she/he is obviously a massive Derby fan and will enjoy our promotion as much as anyone else if it should happen. I have no problem with him criticising our style at times and I happen to agree with his opinion a lot of the time. Where we disagree is probably on Warne’s future in the championship (hopefully). I’m not a Warne fan (in terms of football style) but think he deserves a chance with us in the championship and maybe he can too change his style.

    Keep posting @RoyMac5👍🏽

Why do posters keep referring to Roy as a possible she rather than a he?

Did noone else use the video forum links in lockdown? 🤣

The football this season has been tough to watch, even when winning. There's definitely cause for concern when thinking about how we're going to do if we go up.

But if Paul Warne manages to get us promoted with a squad that has been plagued with injuries all season whilst having next to no money to spend, then he will have more than earned the right to take us into next season.

He'll also have earned the chance to spend some money and mould this squad into what he wants.

Quite what that might, in theory, look like worries me slightly, based on what we've seen this season. But that's just an assumption. Maybe with some money to spend, Warne can overhaul the playing staff and get us playing some nicer stuff? We'll see.

The bigger question will then be: what money has he got to work with?

The club and ownership will need to back him if he's going to have a decent chance.

Highest number of points in a season for us,2nd as we stand with the highest goal difference....I'll take pragmatic over "playing nice stuff" to keep on winning....and he seems to know what he's doing,so I'll leave him to it

Won’t make any bones about not being his biggest fan. I think even at his best this season he’s merely been “fine”, which for what we are presumably paying him and the fanfare that surrounded his arrival, has been a disappointment to say the least. He’s made several errors and for a 6ft5 monster I don’t think I can remember a centre back so tentative. Would do himself some favours by attacking the ball and leaving the wrestling out of it.

I questioned the reasoning for his inclusion yesterday given his recent performances and what he did at Northampton, but it seems Warne may have known about Orient’s inability to defend crosses and it really worked. Hats off on that. He was untested defensively, although did give away a couple of poor free kicks first half. The announced man of the match seemed a bit of a stretch, there were 3 or 4 players more deserving.

He a actually made a couple of excellent tackles,I was impressed with him yesterday

It will be interesting to see the type of player Warne wants. So far our signings under him scream physicality, which in fairness we did need after being a soft touch at times last season.

But next season, we will need more control to compete. Trying to just outwork and outrun teams at Championship level won’t work, but I’m sure Warne is aware of this having been relegated with Rotherham twice playing that way.

He was relegated twice because od a lack of resources once he was in the championship and losing players once promoted...

Let's give the guy a chance once we get there, after all we gave Rooney a go with zero qualifications (or ability as it turned out) and he got us relegated whilst playing particularly s**** football

Anyone else feel like this is a weird promotion season? It’s like if we do go up, it’s because there are 22 teams worse than us, not because we are in the best two if that makes sense.

I sit here at the game and the atmosphere just feels a little ‘off’ somehow. It doesn’t compare with our previous seasons of success for me.

I have no idea what you are talking about here, absolute nonsense.

I was at the game, the atmosphere was amazing....where are you sitting????

Clowes wont sack him, and if we go up he deserves a chance at least and i am not a fan of his football. Was not my choice when appointed but as i say if we go up  he deserves his chance, but if we dont im not sure where i stand.

I wasn't sure either, his style wasn't one I particularly fancied although It was clearly effective.

However,Rosenior and his inexperienced was even further down my list.

I've warmed to warm over time, his football is certainly pragmatic but has proved to be effective and he has made a disparate set of players into a close team as well as bringing the rest of the club together which I can't help but admire.

In hindsight he was the perfect choice for clowes rebuilding not just the team but the club and I'm with him on that.

  8. So manager of the month twice in one season, second in the league, best goal difference, fantastic home and away crowds every single week...and yet,the usual suspects think that clowes will sack him 😂

I do wonder just how many of them actually go to games or even watch the on TV rather than just reading the scores at the end of every match and making "decisions" based on that or their sycophants on here.

You do realise I was saying Rosenior had us playing well? Whatever, you just delight in being rude to posters, what a sad life you must have. 😄

He really didn't roy, unless you count sideways passing to each other 50,000 times with no end result.

I'm not sure you should hold your breath.

Netflix have a proven track record of cancelling expensive shows that aren't massively popular. Especially Sci fi.

True, tho I think this one has been doing ok,it seems to be very popular.

    Really liked it though.

I've watched it through, brilliant production values and very enjoyable...looking forwards to series 2

I doubt the same tactics will work on Tuesday night if we’re open in the middle and allow the opposition so much ball. Pompey have more in attack and I fear those little passes into the box rather than crosses. Maybe we should go 3 in the middle …

Warne played these tactics to suit the game,he will no doubt be looking to counter Portsmouth in a different fashion on Tuesday.

Yep somehow get promotion this season and Warne goes back to Rotherham - Get no promotion and Warne goes back to Rotherham. Alternatively attendances will be missing 3-4000 each home game with Warne’s continued style of football

It's been two years with warne and attendances are outstanding...what are you factually basing your drop in attendances on?

It doesn’t matter. We weren’t “lucky” today. Overall, Bolton played the better football and had the better chances but the reason they lost is because they weren’t good enough on the day and because Wildsmith had a very good game. Wildsmith did what he’s paid to do and did it very well and Bolton didn’t do enough to get a goal (or two). That’s not luck.

And we scored more than them.

You always seem to come out with a post like this following a decent performance and result.

Why not give it a rest?

Goes both ways there mood tho,you can't be whining all week after a less than optimal game and then fail to celebrate a good one without getting some stick.

(That's not aimed at you at all btw)
