I don't know what Collins has to do, to please some people, there some moaning about his MOM award. He was excellent tonight, he popped up all over the park, including tracking back and not doing any reckless challenges. His first goal was a brilliant reaction to a miss hit shot and I suspect that for his second, he told offside JJ to leave it, so he could finish it. He could have had a further 2 goals with a bit of luck, one hit the keeper and the other beating the keeper, only for it to be cleared off the line.
Similarly, Bradley also had a very good game, his best yet. I've noticed that his best performances have all come in this competition and it could be for a number of reasons, quality of opposition, small crowds reducing pressure on him and also him playing on the left side.
Too many people can't bring themselves to give credit where credit is due, constantly desperately looking for the tiniest thing to justify their point of view.
There were players who, I feel didn't have their best game tonight, but I'll keep that to myself.

I will beg to differ, they had a 10 min spell in the first half and 15 mins at the start of this half, apart from that we have been in control.

They have looked better this half but we are much better.

Quite the opposite, In their position, I would be looking to strengthen the squad. That could mean looking to replace Ladapo with a better quality striker who will be able to perform in the premier league.

It should be operated similar to cricket and American football whereby the manager on the sidelines has a couple of challenges per half, which are retained if successful.

We don't know why he didn't know the player's name, it may have been through lack of interest, a momentary memory block or if he's anything like me, he may be terrible with names and faces. Over the years it's led to many embarrassing moments for me and is all the more frustrating as I have an excellent memory for many other things.
It's not a good look in his position, but some people seem to be too keen to pick out every tiny problem with the club and management at the moment and make a mountain out of a mole hill at every opportunity.

How do you define “lucky”, “unlucky” or what a team “deserves”?

Are you saying we were lucky against Peterborough, Blackpool and Bristol in particular? If so, on what basis?
I don’t know how you can say your assessment is more accurate than actual achievements when it’s based on something as subjective your opinion on luck.
Maybe I’m completely misreading your post.

At halftime he went to a 3/5 at the back v Bristol and we were far better second half. First half with 4 we were poor.
The likes of Wilson and Ward are tailor made for the wing back role where nyambe is more suited to a 4 (rb)
Basically there are situations where having the 3/5 is beneficial (as there is for 4 sometimes) so asking to drop it completely i can't get on board with.

The problem is mate that us older lads know that promotion from this league does not rely on stats. It relies on team spirit, hard work and a bit of luck (after the last few years that's one thing we hopefully have in the bank). Many of us wax lyrical about Bobby Davison and Phil Gee firing us to glorious promotions yet often the games were bloody hard work with just an occasional flash of brilliance....like NML's superb pass to the young lad tonight.
The Rams are going up 🐏

Wilson chance early on well saved by the keeper, Collins first shot was screaming for a chip but was a decent stop again and Hourihane's turn and shot was blocked in front of goal by a defender. Those are another 3 good chances that spring to mind, set against zero chances for Vale, that I can remember.
Just remembered NML's curling shot tipped around the post by the keeper.

Maybe, just maybe we are heading in the right direction. Sometimes good things take time. Thought we were really solid in defence and midfield and JJ took his chance well. What a great block by Barks and pass by Nat. Feeling good vibes right now.
