RadioactiveWaste reacted to MaltRam in Where do you think we'll finish this season?
We got ahead of ourselves (well, I did) ahead of Northampton and again against Wycombe.
I'm going to focus wholly on Cambridge all week. If we f*** that up, little hope of coming back again, IMO.
It's well within our capability to stick a rank performance in and come out without the win.

I still disagree with them checking tickets at the bottom of the stairs. Just leave the check for when the stairs split between upper and lower sections.

He didn't look like you suggest yesterday - he's not had lots of opportunity to show how he can play forward. After all who'd have thought he'd make a fullback. He hasn't hit the 'heights' because the club has sunk like a stone. He's all of 22? How old is Wilson etc. He's nowhere near the finished article but even so looks a threat when played other than as a defensive player.

Meanwhile, the EFL tried to impose a Premier-league-mandated points deduction on Leicester. Leicester said, hold on, there's nothing in your rules that allows you to do this, and took out an injunction to stop it. The EFL said, "oh yes of course you're right" and withdrew the deduction.
My conclusion is that the EFL doesn't know its own rules and if we'd had the wherewithal to be able to contest their outrageous behaviour against us, we'd have won as well.

I think that it's safe to say that the EFL, Middlesbrough and Wycombe all took advantage of Derby's delicate position. If we'd had a strong owner in place, they would have all been sent packing.

I don’t like the rails which gave been put in/imposed - space is much more cramped, and they are actually at waist height so should be moving forwards into them you simply spin forwards and drop down head-first into the next row down!
It makes going down for a pint or a pee much more hassle, and we have to fight our way past those season-ticket checkers lying in wait at every opportunity!
    But apart from that ……….

Its popular and in high demand because its cheaper and people can stand if they like, if anything they should be lowering the east stand prices inline with the south stand! 🤷🏻‍♂️

There was a group of lads in the west stand, one of them dressed in a Derby strip (shirt, shorts and socks). I got chatting to them in the concourse at half time, turns out it was a stag do, the groom, dressed in the strip, was a Leyton Orient fan and after the match they were heading to Nottingham for a night out.

There’s nothing to be fearful about in the Championship and I can’t believe this narrative is already being pushed.
The jump in quality really isn’t that significant, outside of the usual teams we see every year that are leaning on parachute payments to keep their squads together. Even then these teams are nothing close to infallible, especially in one off games.
A third of promoted teams from League 1 in the past five years have not only gone up and consolidated their position but they have competed at the right end of the Championship table, in some cases getting promoted or mightily close.
The teams that usually go up and find their way back to League 1 are the ones without the resources or infrastructure to hold their own.
We are only going to end up like Rotherham, Wycombe, Barnsley, Blackpool, Peterborough and others if we show a serious lack of ambition financially or there is a lack of synergy and effective strategy behind the scenes.
If Clowes, Pearce, Thomas, Hale and Warne are all working well and pulling in the same direction, why is it beyond us to build a competitive squad for the Championship, one that could finish 15-18th in year one, for instance?
No-one stands still and neither will we. Everyone resets. Teams get better. Teams get worse. Managers change. Managers improve. Managers decline.
There are so many variables at play, why would we be fearful now when we can work towards a stronger position over the summer? Such needless negativity when nothing is set in stone.

What it shows is from a nadir which, figuratively speaking, had fans reaching for the revolver, the team has been on a run of 100-points a season, which is impressive by most standards, yet still not good enough for some it seems.

These "alternative tables" are all well and good, and I guess they do help to prove any point the poster is trying to make.  And yes, it's a good point well made.  Commendable stats and all that.
What would such a table show for games played solely between 17th March and 28th March (inclusive), for example?  I'll not post it, as I have neither the skills nor the desire to do so.  #Just curious.

When all said and done, there is only one table that matters, and that's also highly commendable, as it stands.  Here's hoping (and expecting) it stays that way!  🐏

Trying to figure out why her gender is relevant here, that is the box you are referring as being ticked?
You are aware that all other referees are male and have been making bad decisions week in week out since the dawn of the game, yet their gender is never relevant in the aftermath.
It's those poor decisions which has led to the introduction of VAR, which again has made some terrible decisions even with all this technology by a bunch of men sat in a room together.
I haven't seen what happened yesterday, assuming you are correct and it was a ludicrous decision, it won't be her first nor her last, likewise with every referee in the game.
If your first thought however is to come here and moan about a woman making one bad decision out of how many correct decisions over a 90 minute game of football, does come across as a bit Joey Barton like.

He was good today but I'm still not in love with him as a player.
He hasn't fully deserved the slagging off he's had from some quarters but I'd be fine with us moving him on despite his two goals today. I know he's had good games and but there's something about feeling secure with the defenders the Neson and Cashin and Fozz have in spades, it might get there with him, but it's still nagging me.
