    That is the
Derby County we knew was in there, and have been waiting for!!! A tremendous away performance!
I can't fault anything about today's performance. Yes we should have added to the score, but the rub of the green did play it's part. So Collins didn't miss a sitter in the first half - the ball rebounded to him as he was already falling, and already on the goal line heading over it, yet he managed to get the ball onto the post, and redirect the rebound back into the area. Hourihane's miss in the second half was b because the ball fell for him to prod it home with his left foot just as he was using it to take the next step. Unlucky, not poor finishing, just fine margins!
Someone said that they wanted the substitutions earlier in the match because two or three players were "blown", and if it was to freshen those legs up I would agree. But they were typical Paul Warne late substitutions, and as such I wouldn't want them making any sooner than they were, simply because defending a 1 - 0 lead isn't our strong suite. However, Paul Warne demonstrated his mastery of tactics, because he was obviously sure that Wigan wouldn't threaten our goal, no matter how much territory we game them, Did they actually manage a shot on target all match?
The second half wasn't quite such a dominating performance, but Wigan were never likely to play the second half like the did in the first half, and they duly obliged. At least their manager dragged them up to being a really poor second best, but at least he got them on the same planet as Derby County! Unlike the ref, who made a balls up in the opening minute, and had clearly got a job on, one which he wasn't up to. Was he trying to outdo Rebecca Welch? If so, he missed a trick because Wigan should have had 6 or 7 yellow cards, instead of the 4 which they did have by half time. But we kept a lid on it - I feared for James Collins because he had a blow at the ref when he was fouled and the free kick went to Wigan, but he too kept his cool in the second half, so well done him!
I couldn't be happier - apart from a flirt with insisting on "channels and crosses" last Saturday, he has got the team playing football on the floor, and involving the midfield players in the middle of the pitch, and it works. Some of our player was good on the eye, and our pressing and physicality in the tackle was also good, so Wigan could never get their "play it out from the back" going for most of the match. 6 poinTs of first place with a game in hand? Brilliant! I know its not February yet, but the way Paul has got us playing, February doesn't matter, we'll take it in our stride!
    COME ON YOU RAMS!

It’s never easy, Claire, but it does help (immensely) to enjoy the memories.
Rule No1 in my book is never feel guilty about smiling… or laughing… about our lost loved ones.
Yes, that in itself may sometimes lead to tears and literal heartache, but occasionally to more smiles, and more laughter. It feels bad. It feels wrong. But in reality, it’s healthy. It’s normal.
The next few days in particular will no doubt feel like a roller coaster… physically and mentally.
None of us can stop the ride, but we can hold your hand and help you through it.

Stay strong for your parents, for Daniel, and most importantly for yourself.
    We’re all here for you.

It feels surreal coming on here and having so many other people ‘get’ Daniel and also feeling his loss. I’m having a bad day today with it hitting home that he’s gone. It’s a bit less lonely hearing others speak about him 😢

Boro fan here, donning hard hat and coming in peace.
Been an occasional stalker on this board (ever since all the unpleasantness!) but felt compelled to register today after seeing this sad news.
B4 was a poster I saw popping up on almost every thread that appeared on here and his passion for his football team was so clear with every word he typed. Fans with this level of devotion are few and far between and should be treasured by clubs and other fans alike. I'm sure he will leave a huge hole behind for everyone who knew him. Sending condolences to all friends, family and fellow DCFC supporters for your loss.
All the best, Steve (not that one!)

Gotta admit I was listening intently to Radio Derby up here in North Yorkshire hoping to hear the applause in the 38th minute (it came across loud and proud).  I wasn't expecting the commentators to mention it, let alone talk about Daniel for as long as they did.
B4 touched a lot of lives and trust he was happy with the recognition he got today as he looked down on us all going through the agony that is following The Rams.  I'm pretty sure he tied the defenders boots together for the first and willed the ball into the net for the second!
Its still sad to think we won't see anymore of his rousing posts on the forum.

If it wasn't for the fact this was quelled in the past day or so, it'd be rendered irrelevant.
I'm all for romance, and It was a nice emotionally charged idea at the time, but given the timescale involved to reach this decision, the right decision was made.

Rooney himself reputedly... and fairly... responded thus:
"The Freedom of Derby? Was I meant to get the Freedom of Derby?” said Rooney.
“I had a great time at Derby under difficult circumstances. I never expected to get the freedom of the place. I respect the football club, I respect the fans, but there are a lot more people who deserve the Freedom of Derby more than I do.”
    Too true, Wayne.
    Cheers, 'n all that.  👍

Deserves a statue outside the club. Absolute legend. Was a pleasure to follow on here for the last 15+ years and always had a nice time chatting with him on Facebook when he would ask about Disney.

Listen up everyone! We need the all the positivity you can muster on Saturday. We need a sea of black and white and strong voices. If it ain’t going our way, get behind the lads and build them back up! Bring all the B4 energy. Wave the scraves and flanges. Sing your hearts out and clap until your hands sting in the 38th minute.

Once again I shall be incarcerated on the South Coast following the game via text feed and this forum.
But I shall think of Daniel and re-read our last PM exchanges. Such a big-hearted person who gave his time for people he never got the chance to meet.
I shall be wearing a scrave in honour. Well that, plus it's turned a bit nippy🤙
