Carnero reacted to SparxTheRam in El DerbyCo
I think he originally was of the opinion that he wanted it to go to someone he felt would love the club like he did as a fan...
As time has gone on, his health has deteriorated and absolutely as you've said he's seen that even 200m of his own money doesn't garner you anything but hate and vitriol he probable changed his mind and thought screw it... I just want rid...
Why should he care about the fans now when they have so clearly demonstrated they have nothing but contempt for him?

I'd reply with, what the hell has it got to do with you? This is part of the problem nowadays, these journos think they are entitled.... Maybe we should ask Craig how much he gets paid per article, where is his bank account, what are his sources,
Turnabout is fair game surely?

What's this, the Pessimism thread?
Whatever happens tomorrow, this damn awful season finally ends. We're edging out of lockdown. The sun is shining.
New owner, new manager, either way......
This is now a great opportunity to reset.
Let the good times roll again! COYR ?

Plenty of freebies available who thanks to Covid will have to get used to lower more affordable salaries whether at Derby or any other lower champ/L1 club.
Plenty more youngsters coming through too to help fill out the squad (yeah yeah I know... I'm not saying to completely rely on a team full of youngsters before anyone starts!).
3 grizzly centre halves and another centre forward option would make the world of difference to the youngsters they'd be playing with.

Carnero reacted to VulcanRam in Derby vs Sheff W (H) Matchday Thread
Well amid all this negativity and "I'm not watching", I'm really looking forward to this. A cup final if ever there was one and the first time since Leeds away in the play offs, a game to get really excited and nervous about. If we win, we deserve to stay up, if we lose we deserve to go down, so ultimately we will get what's coming to us!
Regardless, I'll have a couple of beers and enjoy it as a game that actually, really and properly matters.

100% the club is a mess - but they always report the extremes.
It was always going to be highly unlikely, but they lead with 21 point deduction and made it sound like a certainty. You don't see the headlines from the Mail anywhere else.

I’m not sure I’m convinced about the criticism for the second goal.
Some say his positioning was bad but, it’s not as if he had plenty of time to chose where to stand and, if he’d been further over to cover the near post it would have left a gaping hole for the rest of the goal.
Maybe he could have got a stronger hand to it and blocked the shot but, it came at him pretty quickly and I suspect many keepers would have conceded from that position.

I missed all of those comments.

Okay, I don't know what to believe on the latest Erik Alonso story, but I do know one thing - he is right that the only thing the club should be concentrating on today is the game tomorrow.
However, it totally suits the Daily Mail agenda to run as much poo on us as possible to try to derail the club further.

You can make up a lie which is very specific - In fact common wisdom suggests that the more intricate and convenient the detail the more likely it's a lie
The Mail are more interested in selling newspapers / driving clickbait than they are reporting the truth - Jordan doesn't have that necessity
That said - I also don't know who to believe
The worst allegation people seem to be able to throw at Alonso seems to be that he's trying to re-finance the ground in order to buy players instead (take on the debt himself so the club has money for players) and then use Derby as a breeding / showcasing ground for talent he can sell on (the Brentford approach which so many seem to like) - He'd need us to stay in the championship at a minimum for that plan to work and (preferably for him) the Prem

Question is who are the Daily Mail’s sources? This could be the American consortium stirring the pot trying to undermine his deal? That would be plausible if as believed Sam Rush is involved in that. Could be Gadsby for similar reasons? Hell it could even be Chansiri!!!
Im confident the EFL have got this and if he doesn’t pass the test then he doesn’t buy the club. IF that’s happens, then there can real serious questions about Mel’s intentions and judgement here, especially if the reports are correct there is a credible consortium in the background.

Carnero reacted to StantonRam in Show of support at Pride Park - Saturday 10am
Right, here's what I am going to do.
I think that it will help the players to know that we're behind them on Sat, no matter what we think about the situation both on and off the pitch.
Therefore, I am going to drive down, try to park somewhere, maybe even the rail station car park if there isn't anywhere closer (e.g. Holiday Inn was always my favourite on match days), walk to PP and show my support, even if it's just me. Then I'm going to walk back to the car and listen to the game on Radio Derby whilst driving home.
I'm going to do this because whatever the outcome I want to go to sleep on Sat evening knowing that I did what little I could to encourage the players to give their all in this crucial, season-defining game.
I will feel better doing this than if I just watched or listened at home carping from the sidelines.
Just as in the days of the 3 crooks when we protested outside the ground, now is the time to stand up and be counted.
I will socially distance and wear a mask.
I will be there at about 10am.
Even if it's raining.
Message ends.

We did win 6 out of 8 early on in his tenure, but since the injury to Bielik we've gone into an absolute tailspin!
