Steve bloomers washing errrrr I mean watching
Anon replied to NottsRammy's topic in Derby County Forum
Not keen on Queen to be honest, but I wish I could give more likes for you pointing out that The Killers suck donkey nuts. -
Cheers. I'd had this comment saved from earlier. It's edited now.

By sacking him they only highlight how clueless and deluded they were to appoint him in the first place. Anyone with a functioning brain could look at his first season here to see what Rooney was capable of with an average championship team, a relegation battle.

Steve bloomers washing errrrr I mean watching

Personally I like Steve Bloomer's Watching. I agree with many of the problems you've highlighted with the song, but I like that we have our own song about club legend rather than recycling other clubs' chants or crap pop songs. The idea that a f****** U2 guitar riff of all things would inspire or intimidate anyone is unbelievably quaint. -
Going to Man City was the sensible move. You'd be crazy to turn it down. Delap's done ok, but let's say worst case scenario in that the player doesn't continue to develop and even goes backwards. They'll still get more opportunities, better loans, more offers upon their release if they're coming from a top Premier League club. Tom Carroll for instance has coasted his entire career on being good in Spurs' youth team. If he'd been the exact same player, but a product of a league 1 academy, he'd be non league by now. What rankles is the way those top clubs put pressure on the football league to revamp the tribunal system so they could pillage young talent on the cheap before they can be signed to a pro contract. Even more annoyingly those same managers who hoover up all these young players are incessantly whinging about the number of games, yet barely ever use the talent they hoard in their reserves.

I try to forget that this guy ever played for us. He was one of Clough's worst transfers and he came on a free.

I agree Abba are rubbish. It's not just because it's Abba though. I dislike all musicals where they awkwardly shoehorn a plot around a group of songs that were never intended to have a connected narrative. I like the Proclaimers, but the film Sunshine on Leith is crap. It's just so lazy and pointless. If I like a band or an artist I want to hear them performing their own work, rather than a load of b list actors doing karaoke versions of the songs.

My 6 would've been; Mason Greenwood Joey Barton Toni Minichiello Ivan Toney John Yems Chijindu Ujah

Is that away at Newcastle in 2007? We deserved a win. Viduka spared Newcastle's blushes with a late equaliser. I often wonder if we'd picked up the three points here, plus a deserved point from Liverpool, whether Jewell would've gone quite so crazy with his desperate January transfers.

It's an odd decision. Having said that you could just as easily frame it as the owners appointing a guy who led Sheffield United to a 9th place finish. I hope Wilder does well. Pissing pube head gibson's money up the wall and leaving the sanctimonious smoggy Bamfords in the relegation zone particularly endeared him to me.

My dad isn't a Derby fan, but he took me to this game and developed what can only be described as a man crush on Ron Willems.

Sheffield United 1995?

It's very difficult to judge the consensus for a couple of reasons. Firstly, the footage for anyone who doesn't watch hockey looks awful. If you don't understand hockey it looks like Petgrave makes a beeline for Johnson and karate kicks him in the neck. This, along with the nature of online discourse has polarised discussion. There are people who think it's horrific that the authorities would even investigate and there are people who think Petgrave should be tried for murder, never mind manslaughter. Second, many of the more balanced forums have banned discussion both due to the emotive nature of the incident and the fact that there's an ongoing police investigation. No way was Petgrave trying to maim Johnson, but I do think it's the correct decision to properly investigate. Petgrave is a goon. He's had disciplinary issues in numerous leagues, but that doesn't necessarily mean anything since this is a legitimate role in hockey and pen minutes/suspensions are expected. There is footage of Petgrave leading with the knee in other challenges. I think it will be extremely difficult to prove recklessness or criminal negligence. Not the same sport, but if Kevin Muscat was never criminally charged I think they will have to dig up a crazy amount of footage to establish a pattern of behaviour for Petgrave.

Because it's interesting, and because we'd have no business commenting on the challenge if we hadn't watched it. For what it's worth Johnson comes out of the footage looking like a hero. He doesn't panic and immediately skates across to the bench, giving himself the best possible chance of survival in the circumstances.

No, it isn't common. Skates will rarely get up that high. Normally when they do it's a result of a player being sent flying by a check. Every player understands that everyone is skating around with deadly weapons on their feet and it's possible to lose control of your body when skating at speed. Having said that, I don't fully understand why the leg gets raised in this instance. The clip that causes the defensive player to lose control seems pretty innocuous, but momentum does weird things to the body.

It's also that the BJP have tied themselves very closely with India's national sport. Not that it's particularly unique, most nations use sport for propaganda, but it's funny seeing Modi get a bloody nose by being forced to watch India lose in the giant stadium he had built in his home town and named after himself.

I don't pay any attention when you brand something racist because it lost all meaning long ago. You're the type of person who would claim the moon was racist if the tide was in when you went to the beach.

Yes, but they were censoring the people Stive didn't like, so they were the goodies. I think it's terrible that twitter/x haven't given Stive a pocket mod to delete anything he doesn't approve of. Perhaps he's been spoiled in that regard by certain other websites?

I'm stumped with this one. I know we've been battered a few times away at Coventry, but I really don't think it was this particular season. I'll guess 2004 Coventry.

He's right. Any clown who dances after successfully doing their job belongs in the circus.

I agree. That team was great fun to watch. Idiakez is the only player I can think of where you'd be more confident of him scoring a 30 yard free kick than a penalty. I though Reich was really good too. He was massive in us surviving relegation in 03/04.
