First promotion for 17 years. First automatic promotion for nearly 30 years. Let’s counter your argument and say you think that finishing 3rd, playing good football but failing where it really matters is an achievement?
The arrogant attitude that anything less than running away with the title with triple figure points is a failure is why big clubs like Sunderland, Ipswich, Notts Forest etc got stuck down here for longer.
Less than two years ago we had about 6 players, no academy, no manager and had to play pre-season in temporary shirts because we didn’t even have kits. We were also put under restrictions, which still haven’t run out yet. So yes, I think getting automatic promotion in this timeframe is an achievement. A very good one, actually.

In_The_Dark_Ram reacted to Day in Is this forum now counter-productive?
Not sure how the forum can be seen as counter productive, at the end of the day it's just a bunch of fans opinions. It's no worse or better on other social media platforms like Twitter and Facebook.
The novelty factor was always going to wear off as frustration crept in, the we're just happy to have a club feeling was never going to last forever and we're now back to the we're Derby County, we should be beating teams like Exeter.
I have to be honest, I'm enjoying reading the football arguments over what is happening on the pitch, not off the pitch with finances and football laws. This is what football should be about.

Mr Clough has unfinished business. Would be my number one choice in this situation, would be loyal, focussed on the job, gets players in on cheap and develops youth. I have always had sour taste about him being disposed of last time.

    Bring Clough back for me.
The new season is rapidly approaching, we have minimal players and a limited budget, as much as I would normally like to give Rosenior or Jody Morris a shot I think a period of practical stability would be far more beneficial and set us up better in the long run.

Agree with all that. If we want to protect football clubs across the land maybe councils should own them the board. He’s happy to lease but not from MM think that’s also clear.
Comes down to what is the club worth. £55-£60m is the twice the value of a L1 club. A deal like this enables the creditors to be paid in line with EFL rules and avoid points deductions or worse having the golden ticket removed. Having to pay £20m for the stadium would’ve made those scenarios inevitable.
I understand why people are nervous about the stadium condition, it’s also effective negotiation tactics from CK to put the pressure on those dealing with that transaction. But if there wasn’t a very real possibility of the council stadium deal happening then I honestly don’t think he would be here in approaching the final stages to completion. I also think with Team Derby involved there is too much momentum for this not to happen.
Here is hoping the bedwetters only have one more week to wet the bed and we can look forward optimistically to the future. We need it, we’ve suffered enough.

You do seem to think its ok though Roy for Morris to STILL have some influence in our future ...How would you genuinely feel if Morris scuppers this deal because from what I've been reading you think its CK who should be questioned ? a man who at this moment in time is supposedly doing positive things to ensure we survive as a football club

Because, I assume, he wants to deal with a dispassionate stable organisation rather than a tainted local businessman who has a bad reputation. Far more stability going forward. Isn't that obvious?

I've never known any fanbase, anytime, anywhere, call for their owners to stop spending money on the squad.
Stop beating yourselves up over this. It was up to the club's owner and senior executives to adhere to the rules and manage the club's finances. They failed Derby County, not the fans.

Here’s four local MPs – DCFC matters beyond the city:
    1.       Derby North - amanda.solloway.mp@parliament.uk - Conservative
    2.       Derby South - margaret.beckett.mp@parliament.uk - Labour
    3.       South Derbyshire - heather.wheeler.mp@parliament.uk - Conservative
    4.       Burton - kate.griffiths.mp@parliament.uk - Conservative

What to say? Up to you, be polite, but things like:
    ·       The importance of the club for you, your family and community etc.
    ·       How you feel the fans and city are being punished and EFL seemingly more obstructive than constructive to the future of a founding member of the league.
    ·       Ask what your MP is doing to help save DCFC.
    ·       Ask your MP to raise the issue with the EFL.
    ·       Ask your MP to raise your serious concerns with Nigel Huddlestone MP - Minister for Sport, Tourism, Heritage and Civil Society.

Given the Middleboro FC claim is a big issue, if your MP is Labour perhaps ask them to raise this with the Middlesbrough MP - Andy McDonald
Given the Wycombe FC claim is an issue, if your MP is Conservative perhaps ask them to raise this with the Wycombe MP – Steve Baker
