Hi all - I’ve written a piece assessing the academy “Success” of the last 20 years for Derby.
Interesting that despite Cocu’s youth policy this season, he’s not yet had as much success as other managers.
Warning - it’s a long read! Available on Steve Bloomer’s Washing Podcast blog: https://stevebloomerswashing.com/2020/07/29/is-cocu-derbys-best-youth-promoter-ever-analysing-the-rams-academy-over-20-years/amp/?__twitter_impression=true

This is absolutely why Mel has taken separate ownership of the stadium. It is his bargaining tool to ensure the club cannot be asset stripped.
He will surely pass this over to a trust fund for the fans in years to come.

Jonesy90 got a reaction from SKRam in Relegation or Rowett?
Have Derby got the bottle to stick by Cocu as he builds but takes the club on a downward trajectory?
This smells of a season of huge disappointment and the lack of quality, unfortunate injury record and off-the-field events are confirming this suspicion.
The question is, will impatience in the face of an impending investment in the club mean Derby act sooner rather than later? Rowett would be the go-to manager - Derby would just have to swallow some pride and footballing quality to make the decision.
    I sense tension mounting...

Poor results and performances, Threats of legal action from Boro, Rumours of takeover from dodgy investors, its all looking like a car crash season 😯
With the way we've started the season on and off the pitch I cannot see anything other than automatic promotion.

For those of you that doubted the need for this thread and my opinion of apparent “doom and gloom” around Derby and the awaiting media bashing we will soon get...
In the last two weeks, Derby have been linked with a dubious investor from the US...

    AND
Two Derby players have now been arrested for drink driving which will make the national press.

    Useless fact of the day...
4 of Derby’s 7 signings averaged a higher win percentage than Derby last season (43.4%)
    Shinnie 52.6%
    Dowell 56.5%
    Bielik 56.5%
    Clarke 54.3%
    Rooney 36%
    Paterson 41.3%
    Hamer 7.89%
I always think it’s better to buy/loan players who have had a good season previous.
