Because financially we can afford another sacking can’t we!? And what’s a manager going to change now with 9 games to go that Rooney, Mac behind the scenes (if he’s still here etc etc) isn’t already trying?
The players are Kieron Dyer, recruitment is to blame.

I’d still much rather have an inexperienced Rooney here who as I’ve said on other threads has worked under some of the best managers of our time, who would’ve soaked their knowledge up, have valuable contacts throughout the country, who young lads are going to want to play for. He needs time and if we have it funds to build a good squad, I don’t think Klopp or Pep would get this lot playing.

That's one way of looking at it. Clearly those in charge at Birmingham, who have ten or so games remaining, feel a change of management is exactly what they have to do to avoid the drop.
Reality is, everything is to blame, not just recruitment. Manager. Owner. Players. Recruitment. Takeover. COVID.
This has been the worst season as a Derby supporter I've ever had, and I used to travel nearly two hundred miles to watch us play in that  Premier League season!

    1) Yes. We were poo without Bielik, winning all the time with him and now poo and losing all the time without him. The bounce was clearly brought about by Bielik's return to fitness and not Wazza and co. I've not completely lost faith but with Bielik we were in the top three in the form table, since his injury however...

    2) Think we should have a preferred style of play, but not to the point we try to play it against every opponent. That said, there ought to be some fundamental constants. Rooney criticised Cocu for over-complicating things yet is now doing exactly the same himself by chopping and changing both the team and the tactics every game and the players seem to be hating it.
    3) Yes and we should also play a higher line and get some runners around CKR. Having the poor lad taking on 3 defenders on his own every week is getting boring and will only work once every half dozen games and only when we score first. It's ducking dull to watch too.
    4) No. BZI ae a busted flush and there's not enough time to push through an alternative prior to season-end.
    5) No, but only because there are other teams who are marginally less poo than we are. That said, a loss to Brum and we're knee deep in the brown stuff. Wednesday, Wycombe and Rovrum still more likely to get relegated though.

There a few things I don’t like about how teams defend corners these days and we’re guilty of of all them.  Zonal Marking, no men on the post and every defending player in the box and no one on the half way line.

Or they’ve got backwards we will have to sell and get 5 million a player with having to raise money and we are skint. We will sell knight for 5 million and with our track record buy Phil jones for 10 mil

The demise of our most promising youngsters Knight, Bird and Sibley is the best thing that could’ve happened in this awful season. All 3 have bags of potential even with the poor performances we’ve seen this year. Hopefully that’s put the bidders off and with another season and pre season under their belts I think we’ll see completely different players next year. Add to that the return of Bielik, Lawrence and I still have faith Ibe is going to come good, we’ll have the foundations of an alright team.

I much prefer us playing like the former but we obviously need to dig and scramble ourselves out of this pit by any means.
That's not what I want us to play long term tho....I hated it under the likes of rowett and I hate it now.
    Needs must though.
To me the Derby way actually meant something,I miss it and I long for its return.

I enjoyed watching the football more under Mac but ultimately it didn’t get us promotion, so I’m swaying more towards making us hard to beat and do anything to get us out this league, yourself?

I had this exact thought earlier, we don’t have a Derby way anymore and can you be almost too tactical for the championship? And be worrying too much about your opponents?
I know we don’t have the players now like we did under Mac to play attractive football so you grind out results however you can.
But memorable promotion sides such as Leeds and Wolves of late, they had a style they stuck to home or away, they played their football and didn’t seem to worry how the opponents would set up against them, they just played attractive football and got results.

With a transfer window will Waz go for that blueprint and have a “Derby way” or just make us hard to beat and keep swapping and changing players and formations to suit the opponents?

It’s crazy that people think we wouldn’t find a buyer, I know I’m biased but id say we’re one of, if not the most attractive club to buy in the championship. History, stadium, fan base, academy, training facility’s, one club city just to name a few.

You can’t take away promotion & relegation to the top division it would completely kill the English game and make it pointless viewing. Football needs a reform European wide with wage caps and proper spending caps that actually get punished if broken, it’s clearly not sustainable if even the “bigger” clubs are looking for financial bailouts.

Premier league clubs also shouldn’t be allowed to keep signing the best young talent from lower divisions to just sit in the u23’s or be loaned out, I know there’s talk of a loan cap being put In place which will help that.
We also need to get with the times post covid and stick to paid streaming services, it’s a huge revenue stream, if they had a monthly subscription platform where you could watch any live game and where the money could be divided equally to all clubs, then advertising can pay for the most watched clubs/games for additional income. Ticket prices should be lowered slightly to keep stadiums filled, I know I’d pay a monthly subscription and have a season ticket if they made both available and affordable.
