Stephens and fozzy would make a 10/10 for me! Stephens would be the calming “wise” head we would need in the middle of the park. Would also add height and physicality

Love this signing. Actually comes with a better resume than Plange or Ebiowei did, for example, and whilst it might take him a little bit of time to really show what he’s capable of it’s a signing that really encapsulates that we have a future. Hopefully it pans out and we’re extending the deal this time next year. 

The club used to get hammered for making the wrong decisions - now they're taking the time to try and make the right decision, they are still getting hammered. 
I think they are right to see how it goes - he's never managed before and this could go wrong with a guy on a 2/3 year contract.

I think whoever plays full back I trust Liam to get it right. After all he played his entire career at full back (mostly right but covered both flanks) so I think he knows the position. Also in his year as a sky sports pundit was often the one to highlight our failings in this area under Lampard particularly number of goals conceded through not stopping crosses for which I think we led the way that season in the championship, though that was in part to how Lampard set up.

A cheap No.3 goalkeeper with 500 career appearances under his belt. Solid and sensible squad signing, if unspectacular.
Foulkes will be loaned out and a No.1 option will be bought in to compete with Wildsmith.

Chris Martin hadn't really scored that many when he signed for us either, just one good season for Norwich in League 1.  That type of link-up striker, that don't really create their own chances, can be very dependant on style of play and the players around them - get them in the right system and they'll score plenty.

Imagine him and Stephens are the two Rosenior said are ‘really close’ to signing.

A first half and a second half team and James Collins isn't in either of them.

I think other than the lads rhat have joined on 1 year deals, Knight is the only proper 1st team player whose deal expires next summer. If he isnt willing to renew then try and cash in this summer imo. Money from him could help bring in 2 or 3 top quality players for League 1

I think Rotherham bouncing up when they keep getting relegated shows that you need players that have been there and done it already. Rosenior has said all the players he has brought in has promotion on their CV, Stephens has that too. 
It has to be a nice balance throughout the squad, not top heavy on youth, nor top heavy on experience.

I have no issue with youth being in and around the first team, but at the same time I dont think we should be so reliant on them. The age demographic of the squad last season had a few outfield players between 24 & 32 - Byrne, Morrison & Lawrence (Shinnie before he left), so that is mainly the market we should be looking at imo as we didnt have many anyway and those 3 have all gone. Wildsmith, NML, Barkhuizen & Hourihane fit into that. Then you add a couple in the 18-23 (Roberts) & 33+ (Chester) bracket you have a pretty balanced squad.
