r4derby reacted to angieram in B4 - for ever a Ram 🐏
I have some very sad news this evening. Daniel (B4) died earlier this week. He was just 38.
As you know, he has been battling numerous health conditions for a long time, but always remained cheerful and was the most loyal supporter of his beloved Rams, home and away.
He was at the match at Crewe and gave his full support as always.
Daniel leaves behind a grieving dad, mum and sister. Our thoughts go out to them and we only hope they get a little comfort from knowing how well loved Daniel is by all who know him.
Here are a couple of photos that his dad agreed could be shared. I'm sure many of you have others, as Daniel loved a selfie at the game.
David is hoping to arrange a more fitting tribute in time, but for now please raise a glass in his memory and a good Derby win today. I am sure that's what Daniel would have been doing tonight.

r4derby got a reaction from angieram in Hourihane gone in January?
He did well in the ‘quarterback’ role against Northampton. But he’s not mobile enough to be more than that. With his passing and reading of the field, he should thrive in a confident team with runners ahead of him, which is what I hope we become. Against a midfield that are physically superior, will need to show a bit more.

Making the trip over the A52 for this, not been able to much recently. Wouldn’t say I’m excited, I’d almost call it a ‘trudge’ this evening. But I keep reminding myself - I felt so low a few years ago when I wasn’t sure what would happen to our club. I’ve still got that club, and I can go, so I should.
Would like to see some more play ‘between the lines’, instead of the one dimensional attack of get it wide. At least have an inside option for the winger to drive into the box.

r4derby reacted to i-Ram in Cool the anti-Clowes rhetoric
I understand that when the football isn’t pretty, and the league position is dire, football fans will inevitably lash out. However, I am amazed that there are a good number on here tonight slating our owner. This is a staggering state of affairs even for our club, only some 15 months since he saved us. Cool it down lads.

r4derby got a reaction from Ramarena in Pro Warne
I’m not baying for blood yet. As a few have mentioned, there have been factors that have impacted our start to the season. I’m not going to back PW though, or say it’s been ok performance wise, as it hasn’t. Oxford at home was one of the worst matches I’ve ever seen us (that was my last match, 2 months ago, and I’ve not missed it much)
I do think someone’s mindset effects what they see. If I’m negative about someone/thing, I’m going to be able to see and highlight the negatives with relative ease, while not noticing any positives. If it came out that PW had the next 3 games to impress/change things, I’d find that fair. If he goes by next weekend, there can also be no complaints.
I’m not calling Warne out, but I also don’t mind the fan next to me shouting it on Tuesday night. So maybe that shows my changing mind…

Did the Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse / Multiverse double bill on a whim. I usually struggle with animated stuff, but I'd read and heard good things and I have to say, I thought both were great. The artwork is amazing, the voicing is excellent and it's a really enjoyable way to while away a few spare hours. Far better than the movies, I reckon.

A midfield that contains Fornah and Embleton appears a lot more mobile (on paper) add in Hourihanes quality of passing and it’s probably good enough to be seen as best in League 1. Just need the back line and front line to click next…

I think it’s got something to do with helping blood circulation…or he’s been watching a lot of fashion TV and likes the ripped jeans effect

r4derby reacted to valakari in Derby vs Fleetwood - Match Thread
Ok, to split hairs..Rooney is a defender..right backs are defenders!
Forsyth played most of last season as a CB..and did very well.
Elder has always been a left back, not a LWB.
Waghorn has played most of the last few years either wide or as a second striker...
My round pegs fit pretty well ta..just Sibley who isn't quite fit yet..

Also been suggested that Thomas is the one recruiting for the academy/U23 squad, including the lad from Rangers etc. they could turn into solid players in a season or 2

r4derby got a reaction from Hector was the best in v Oxford United (H) Match Thread
It wasn’t just pace and youth that made them quicker though. Theirs players wanted the ball more. They beat us to most first balls and nearly every second ball. Our players were on their heels far too often. They were in our faces as soon as we got to their half, not giving us time or space. And then they sprang forward when they got it back. Whereas we lacked any ideas about how to get forward when we got it, short of kick it long.

My first game this season last night, and I’ll sadly disagree. Second half was just as bad as the first. In fact, it was probably more disappointing. Oxford stepped off us a bit, but there was a passage of about 5 minutes where we didn’t have the ball, apart from 3 times…and all 3 times we played it forward to their midfield and gave up possession.
It was embarrassing. We got lucky to get our goal (good finish from Waggy) except it wasn’t. I actually think their goalkeeper looked poor, but we didn’t test him at all. He constantly fluffed or nearly dropped high balls, and kept ripping things over the bar that weren’t that close to going in. I think Warne tried to look for positives, but worryingly saw some that blatantly weren’t there last night

r4derby reacted to Ram1988 in Derby County v Oxford Utd: Player Ratings
I feel it's too soon to give out ratings as I would give out too many 2 and 3's. I do however feel Waggy and Thompson where bright when they come on and surely both deserve to be in contention for Saturday.

The frustrating thing is - he’s known about these departures for a while. Didzy was earlier in Summer and interest in Knight had been around for a while. You prepare for that. You make that a priority. Instead, we’re left chasing our tails! So frustrating
