    Watched Oliver! at Christmas.
Hate musicals but love this. Just fantastic acting performances all round combined with actually decent songs.

That’s true. But when they signed him he wasn’t back up, he was a big signing to be there number 1. I’m not saying he’s on 110k a week, I don’t know what he’s on, but I am saying that they have the means to spend big money on 1 or 2 players

You mean 'Plucky Bournemouth' story of the millenium who got promoted by exchanging players for tracksuits and multipacks of Scampi Fries?

Totally agree. Not only played 2 games in 4 days but one of those was with 10 men for 85 mins.
Now that the team are starting to fire, I think Palace should be seen as an opportunity for the dropped players to put on a display. Suspect Bielik and Lawrence will be particularly motivated after seeing what how well the midfield has done in their absence.
My only change to your team would be Sibley starting instead of Whittaker.

Can see Cocu ringing the changes. We’ve just played 2 in 4 days and this will be the 3rd match in 6 days. CB only position we may need to keep players in.
    Roos
    Bogle Davies Fozzy Malone
    Bielik Hudds
    FloJo Lawrence Whittaker

Pretty sure it’s Jerome. Maybe keeping tabs with club and visiting while over for holidays with family...?

And you want to sack a manager after how long.
I wonder what the team will look like when Cocu is given the same amount of time.

It’s fine that you don’t believe he is, but everything suggests you’re wrong. Cocu is a winner, both as a player and a manager. Clough played for Forest and won the Brian Clough trophy a couple of times.
He gave us stability and consistency - consistently lower mid table and near the relegation zone. The past 6 years we have been at the right end of the table and had some good moments. Not sure we regret it at all.
Cocu needs the same time Clough had, and I bet he can do more than Clough did

We miss Clarke and Keogh at CB. We’re missing a fit Bielik and Shinnie in the midfield. We’re missing a fit Marriott. Too many injuries and not enough quality on squad. Give Cocu this season and outline the plan going forward then. I still don’t think we will go down as returning players will help us tread water. But we’re a lower mid table side.
Rooney plus a couple of Cocu style additions will help his cause. Absolutely no point changing managers due to knee jerk reactions

I feel like this has to be said every transfer window, but there is a lot of wisdom going for out of form players. Butland playing well would cost 10s of millions and be going to the Prem. Having not been good recently gives us more of a chance.

Our issue in the past has been going for inform players and paying a premium. Notice lots of people suggesting Jed Wallace. He’s been good for a while, but now he’s played a few good games he will cost a lot more. Don’t write signings off because they let a bad goal in or haven’t scored for a while

This shows that there is a place for single player games in today’s market. I’m one of those gamers who would much rather play a good single player focussed game than a sub standard story mode of a multiplayer game that has been added on without an afterthought.

Looking forward to playing this in the coming months. First, though, I’m getting really into Red Dead 2 now. After the discussion a few pages back, I’ve decided to actually give it some time. Boy, was that a good decision!

I get that, and completely agree the change to the big finale ruined an amazing moment. I guess by the time I got to watching the last 2 at the cinema, I was mentally prepared for them to change the films in a bad way. I though Half Blood Prince was rubbish with the changes they made to that

I don't mind the films, but they aren't a patch on the books. The changes they made to the ending of Deathly Hallows (e.g. skipping Harry's final speech in the Great Hall and a certain someone exploding into thousands of pieces rather than crumpling to the floor) were almost unforgivable IMO. It completely missed the point. I still enjoy watching them though, simply because I love the series.

It sounds like you feel about RDR2 the way that many people do. It’s been designed for people who want to become engrossed in a story, role play as a cowboy who can make choices.

All the side quests and activities that you say are pointless, other people adore them and enjoy doing them. People want to collect cards. We all have different hobbies.
You say that it’s pointless to do all those things, but that’s why people play games.
I'm only 10 hours into Red Dead and I found the intro hour boring, the next 9 hours have just got better and better. I spent about half an hour in camp listening to people interact and playing cards, it was great. And then was off hunting wild bears, a completely different activity but equally worth my time

As a fan of the books, I didn’t like the movie adaptations until the last 2 (double parter of the final book)
Rewatched with my wife earlier this year. Enjoyed them more, the next one won’t fill you with joy either, but the Deathly Hallows part 1 and 2 are good films that round the series off
