deano180 got a reaction from kash_a_ram_a_ding_dong in Chrissy Martin
I'm sure Charlie said something similar on RD before Christmas about Hourihane, my eyes told me different on Saturday. What is to say he cant adapt? Fozzy looks as fit as he did 6 years ago, astonishing job having the right attitude in a system that's managed by someone who knows what they are doing. If Martin doesn't fancy it he just wouldn't come, but if we signed him I would back our management to get the best out of him.

deano180 reacted to Jourdan in Cambridge United (H) Fri 30th Dec
We played in the Championship for 14 straight years and with the exception of 1-2 years, the football was poor.
We’re now in League 1 under significant financial restrictions, with a hurriedly assembled squad of high profile free transfers and hopeful but inconsistent young players.
You might need to adjust your expectations.

Thought the tempo was good first half, and Cambridge were lucky to survive so long without conceding. Not sure what people expect from a gruelling L1 season with a newly formed team.

We played decent football in our last game, not sure the weather or the state of the pitch helped that today.

deano180 reacted to Zag zig in Craig Forsyth - 1 year extension
Exactly, don’t get why people feel inclination to knock his odd failing, at this level his strength is his reading of the game. If he can show adaptability to play consistently well enough at centre half, it may prolong his career another season, rather than having to bomb up and down the pitch at full back or wing back.
There’s not many more versatile players, we are likely to sign any better than Fozzy.

the biggest accolade i can give Fozzy is that we are not missing Curtis , Fozzy has been immense at centre half

I hope Fozzy, just like Curtis stay around this club for years more.
Not many people like Fozzy and we’ve been lucky to have him around the club for so long.

deano180 reacted to ram59 in The Administration Thread
The EFL took the 12 points off us, their rules clearly have a defence of 'force majeure'. If covid 19 wasn't an example of force majeure, I don't know what is. Derby estimated the cost of covid to be in the region of £25M, if on the day the club entered administration, somebody had given the club a cheque for that £25M, would the club still have gone into administration? I think not, that £25M would have virtually cleared the HMRC debt.
It's rumoured that clubs are being allowed to write off player values because of the impact of covid, if this is the case, then it is scandalous that Derby weren't given any consideration regarding covid.
You use drink and drive as an example, which I would never do, but would you say rushing someone bleeding to death to hospital after being told an ambulance wasn't available, a reasonable excuse and would you not be happy with the police and courts if you were banned and lost your livelihood for doing such a thing. Things are not black and white in this world and sometimes there are legitimate reasons for breaking rules or laws.
The current restrictions seemed to be totally inflexible and unfairly restrict the new owner in taking the club forward. By all means, have a conservative business plan, in order to avoid a repeat debt problem. However, there doesn't appear to be any flexibility if the club raises it's income above this conservative estimate and to be able to use that money. Also, the club has a limit on wages and no allowance on transfer fees, why can't some of that allowance for the wages be diverted to small transfer fees? We have the bizarre situation whereby Derby are making around £150k per match extra per home game, than the business plan, that's around £3.5m for the season and if we sell the likes of Knight, there will be even more millions sitting in the coffers which we can't spend. It is virtually impossible for us to sign any player in his peak years.
The EFL's language when commenting after court cases against us, their stance on the parasites' claims against us, their forcing the administrators not to appeal against the penalties are just some of the many instances where the EFL have been less than sympathetic to Derby's plight.

I think we are all coming to the right conclusion, Paul Warne is not the right fit for this current squad of players we have. Somebody at Derby convinced Daid Clowes to bring him in and give him a 4 year contract. Clowes also stated after Warne's appointment that promotion was what he wanted this season. I stated straight away, after Warne was given the job, it was the wrong choice and I'm still convinced the club have balls up in this appointment.

Our 21s have been depleted due to our situation since administration, must be looking for numbers and these our the new numbers, chance to shine for them while helping us build back to where we need to be.

Two assists from his last two games.
what I like about him is that he has pace to burn but looks like a good footballer too. He has a great turn on him. Yesterday was his first 90 mins in mens football so I think it’s easy to forget how early on in his career he is.
think there is a lot more to come from him, Didzy, Barks, Collins to compliment NML and Sibley .. when this team start stretching their legs and go for it we could well be a formidable force in this league.
As a point of context it was a approx 2 months ago that my son asked who we should support if there is no Derby County.
well done and thank you David Clowes and to Liam and his staff

Have finally returned to the nest, fully armed with excuses.
1. They've changed the traffic management, so the home coaches leave first. Had a sneaky pint in the Yard, and the buses left just as we arrived.
Decided to wait out the traffic, and get a taxi back into town. Swift pint or three in Frankie and Bennys. Two ubers didnt turn up.
The Red Arrow was busier than usual due to the train strike, so we had to queue. Getting more beer from the shop didn't help our place in the queue, admittedly.
Pride day in Nottingham today, not a taxi or bus free to return home without encountering menacing hordes of biker types. Another few in the Six Barrels, then I somehow got cajoled into leading the march through town!
Arrived home, and burst into 'I am what i am' when the present Mrs Devil opened the door, with a requestioned rainbow boa draped around my neck. Not amused, at all.
Let her have her mini moan, then told her I wouldn't change a single thing about the day frankly, we were celebrating the fact there was even a game and a club to go and see.
Obviously, promised it wouldn't happen again, and will sleep on the settee tonight.

Yeah I’m with you on Allsop, would feel very confident if he was still here. Just felt it was a good start for Wildsmith and something to build on, if there is another keeper out there to bring in either to improve upon him or at the very least to provide competition we definitely still need it, I’m just a little more reassured after today that Wildsmith can do a job.

I browsed OwlsTalk earlier and they have a big thread on Derby and our signings.
I thought they’d understand our position a bit.
Well most are seething, feeling we have cheated with one or two even comparing our situation to Leicester.
One thing I’ve realized is the media and the EFL/Gibson/Wycombe really have painted Derby as the bad guys.
