Never served, always donate to the Appeal via the Neppy. I remember on my first visit to the Netherlands aged 21 or 22. Visited the War Cemetery in Arnhem. Seeing the ages of the fallen brought tears to my eyes. They were almost all younger than I was and had made the ultimate sacrifice. I, for one, will never forget them nor the sacrifice they made.
I would dearly love to see everybody in their seats a good while prior to kick off today and to appreciate the ceremonial happenings. That last pre match beer/cola/pie/burger.... that can be taken a little earlier than usual. IMO, not being in your place by 10 to 3 today would be showing total disrespect to the fallen.

What an idiotic statement!! Nothing to do with football but why will every ground including non league and even park football show there respect today and tomorrow  ??
Some young men never got the chance to play football and today is about respecting them !! Don't bring palestine into it as today is all about those who bravely lost there lives!!!

You can only play what’s in front of you and there were some encouraging performances from the youngsters on view last night.
What I don’t quite get is the comparison of Wolves youngsters to those of Man City from last seasons drubbing.
Bit of an update on that Man City starting eleven :-
Borges (hat trick and destroyed right back Rooney) sold to Ajax £17m
Shea Charles sold to Southampton for £12m
Rico Lewis & Oscar Bobb have both appeared in the Champions League & Premier League
Katongo (Peterborough), Breckin (Wycombe) and Burns (Stevenage) all out on loan to League 1 clubs
They also payed 350k for the 18 year old goalkeeper van Sas.

How the other half live……………………...anyway, back to the real world!

I listened to Matt Hamshaw's interview after the game. Few things I took from it.
The decision to play the academy players was only made Saturday/Sunday. I am glad they took the opportunity but it doesn't seem like any sense of long term planning was involved, which I find a bit disappointing.
As a first team coaching staff they have been surprised at how quickly the academy seems to have recovered and are much further on than expected.
I know some of us on here have been disappointed and concerned with the lack of chances for our youngsters. Could it be they had no intention of utilising those players to give time for the academy to settle?
Either way, I think last night was a great moment for the whole club. 0bviously the real test is Barnsley and I get the feeling that match is key to Warne and winning back over those who are wavering. Poor performance and result and all this goodwill drifts away again. Win, it feels like everything is slowly turning our way.

Let's be right. I've been Warne out due to games with aimless lobs up the wings and through the middle but yesterday, Exeter and Northampton were a million miles from that. Did we have lots of crosses, yes did we try through the middle as well? Absolutely. The criticism from me yesterday was our abject shooting ability. If we had an on form goal scorer we would have won that by a distance. We simply don't seem to have a natural confidence in front of goal from either our forwards or midfield. Strange really.

I had a terrible case of the Brad Pitts after eating a dog burger outside Loftus Road.
The runs came on that evening when I went to a party thrown by a girl who owned a groovy flat in East London. When I rushed to the loo, I found out that one of the groovy things about the flat was that the bathroom didn't have a door, just a bead curtain. And there was a queue of girls outside the bead curtain.
So I ran downstairs and outside to find somewhere, anywhere. The car park in front of the block of flats was small and well lit. The only thing in it was a speedboat on a trailer.
And so I found my relief squatting in the small patch of darkness behind a speedboat, beside the Whitechapel Road.
    It was a memorable evening.

Can believe that. The crossing against Exeter was just really poor I mean head down lump into the box.
It's not even playing the percentages if you're only winning nearly 9% of the balls you sling into the penality area.

Its been a bit stange regarding Fornah. Against Shrewsbury did anyone else notice he was late getting on the pitch before kickkoff? He appeared late from the tunnel and wasnt on time for the minutes applause on the pitch so he joined in from the sideline. After that once the game started he just seemed off the pace and lost. Not sure what it was all about as Ive not heard any mention of it.

Hi Derby fans, I know you have bigger fish to fry in terms of wanting Warne out, but thought I would provide a little information on the current Northampton side to provide you a little context before tomorrows game.
We are very much a yo-yo side between L1 and L2 and as most expected we are struggling this season. We have not lost any game by more than 1 goal but that is not helping our points tally at all. Injuries have been a massive issue the last 12 months or so, its rare we have had less than 8 out injured. Whilst injuries are part and parcel of the game, when you already have a squad expected to struggle it creates a bit of an impossible task.
We are unlikely to have any of of injured bodies back for Tuesday, which means our best CB and best striker are injured. Considering both boxes is where we need to improve that is not good news!
Our manager Jon Brady has lived in the area for decades since moving across from Australia. Played for lots of clubs in our region and then got the permanent managers job after managing the U18's. He is extremely passionate (maybe too much so as gets booked so often), but he is also passionate about the club and area which really has built a link with the fan base. He has also done a fantastic job so far in my opinion, developing our style away from just pure long ball which we have endured a lot of over the last few decades. We are not total football by any stretch of the imagination but have the ability to retain the ball far better now. That being said he is clearly getting frustrated at the lack of available bodies and the low budget he has to work with in L1. Despite our lowly position he is still pretty much universally backed by the entire fan base.
In terms of danger man you are right to highlight Sam Hoskins. He has gone from a player who was very much a marmite player amongst the fanbase to a club legend. He has always worked extremely hard and has played in every outfield position for us during his time here. The problem was his work rate would often mean that he was seemingly undroppable which meant he was an easy target. However Brady has recognised that he is comfortably our best finisher, meaning he is now less involved in build up play but much more in the final 3rd which has seen his goal tally rocket. He was the first player to score 20 goals for us since the early 90's and is now top 10 all time in appearances and goals.
Two other players that stand out for us (that are currently fit) are defenders Sam Sherring and Marc Leonard. Sherring is a young defender who is comfortable on the ball and is continuting to develop, i have no doubt he will go onto bigger and better things. Leonard is on load for the second season in a row here from Brighton and is arguably the best natural talent I have seen in the CM for us. We have had Matt Grimes and Matt Crooks here in recent years but Leonard just keeps things ticking over effortlessly.
I wonder if we may set up with a back 3/5 (I know not popular here!) Something along the lines of....
                           Burge
               Willis Sherring Monthe
    Odimayo                               Brough
                   Mcwilliams Leonard
    Pinnock                                  Hoskins
                        Simpson

I am going for a narrow 2-1 loss which is very much the story of our season. A point would be massive for us but despite your recent troubles there are still several levels between the sides.
Looking forward to being back at Pride Park and will post my thoughts after the game. Enjoy the game and rest of the season!

What about Fornah? Unsure why, if we did have a soft underbelly yesterday, he didn’t give this lad some minutes? It was his one and only midfield signing.

I understand that when the football isn’t pretty, and the league position is dire, football fans will inevitably lash out. However, I am amazed that there are a good number on here tonight slating our owner. This is a staggering state of affairs even for our club, only some 15 months since he saved us.  Cool it down lads.

Pinched from the Rotherham forum regards today result.

Fatty Evans has won the battle of our former managers. Stevenage 3 v 1 Derby.  Absolutely painful result for the Rams and PW is looking like a dead man walking right now.

Derby fans in absolute meltdown! Tactically Evans did a right job on them. Apparently Warne clapped the Derby fans for about 4 seconds from the dug out and disappeared.
Read into that what you want!

When he managed us we had some good stuff.
    Some average and some poor.
He’s showing that if the players don’t run through brick walls for him which he installed with us he’s not very good tactically or makes good subs.
It’s inevitable unfortunately he’s just not big enough for a club like that.
You take your chances and you have to take the consequences.
    He’s a one trick pony.
