Last September I was playing football with my grandson, and hurt my knee. I didn’t bother the doctors because the knee gradually returned to near normal, but still quite painful at times. It was such a time I winced, and my wife “advised “ me to see the doctor, which I duly attended, knee examination, all OK, I asked for a PSA (having seen the information at Pride Park) check which he duly gave me the paperwork. The test came back 7.1, I’m over 70 so 6.5 is regarded as normal. I was dispatched to the Derby Royal, had the anal examination, ( for the first time) small lump found. In five weeks I’ve had a MRI scan,my prostrate biopsy done, and a QT scan, and I’m now on a hormone treatment plan. It appears they’ve caught the tumour early, and the prognosis is good, they say it will be eliminated. You do lose your dignity at times, but not going through that door and having the exam you could lose a lot more.
A shout out to the doctors and nurses at the Derby Royal, they have been absolutely terrific, informative, and very understanding, and caring.

I have very little sympathy for her and any other terrorist or former terrorists regardless of age, race, religion, nationality that find themselves unable to re enter this country if it’s allowed in the legal framework.
If that means some of you want to throw me into some extreme right wing category with Donald Trump, Nigel Farage and Tommy Robinson, so be it, I’m more than comfortable in my own mind to know I’m nowhere near those.
I’m not sure how anyone can be confident that she or any other member of ISIS/terrorist organisation has or can be deradicalized, would anyone be confident enough to let her share the roof above your heads?
Much is being made of her age, being a child, she was 6 months away from turning 16, at which point she would be considered old enough to have sex and start having children of her own, potentially “grooming” them into ISIS.
Reading this topic, it feels like we are not only responsible for her, but all asylum seekers and this country should be a free for all, any opposition to this is deemed racist.
If you look at the very definition of what asylum is:
Protection or safety, especially that given by a government to people who have been forced to leave their own countries for their safety or because of war
Whilst these people do have my sympathy, those that are genuinely looking for safety, would a homeless person in this country be so picky when being offered a house to come off the streets? Sorry, I don’t want your 1 bedroom flat in Chaddesden, I want a 3 bedroom semi in Quarndon.
I get the argument that they may have family over here or English being their second language makes it easier, where possible we must help those, we just have to have some control of our borders regardless of preferred destinations.
Again, we’re talking about people looking for safety and there are many countries that can offer safety from war than the UK, countries which asylum seekers pass to arrive in this country given our geographical location.
Let me be clear, I’m not against this country taking in asylum seekers, offering safety, houses, benefits to enable them to rebuild their lives. I am against a complete free for all in which we are seeing thousands each month turn up on our shores off boats they have paid thousands for risking their lives even more.
We are a relatively small island compared to many European countries, there needs to be a better system in place where Asylum seekers are processed fairly and for lack of a better word, distributed fairly given the size of the country.
We’re already struggling for tomatoes to wipe our backsides with the current population. (I had to get tomatoes in there somehow)
Back to Shamima, what next for her if we continue to deny her entry? This might sound heartless, but I simply don’t care.
Again, you can be white, black, green, red, yellow, Christian, Muslim or into Scientology, if you join an organisation which is bringing terror on innocent lives, even if it’s simply stitching the suicide belts, I have absolutely no sympathy for Shamima, Gary, Barry, Sally or whoever.
What I would say finally is, we must be consistent with this and we should absolutely not make this a one off or for burka wearers only.

Hi guys!! I just want to thank you for your welcoming in representation of all Galician Rams. We had such a nice and funny time.
Pride Park is even more impressive than we thought watching from TV, and  the team was a 10 the other day. Also, every person that we met before, during and after the game was extremely nice, and we loved not only the team, but the city as well.
I'm sure that we'll be back as soon as we can.  We had already been Derby fans for a few years, but after this experience we are Rams for life.
You people are world class. GO RAMS!!

He can also be a 19 year old kid on loan at a big but ailing club, with all the pressure that brings, who gets endless stick, way more than any other member of the squad and yet tries his f****** heart out every game, creating as many scoring chances for others as anyone on the roster.
    This s***'s easy! ?

Re: Dobbin. People have to be realistic (I know - ridiculous). If he were some kind of superstar wonder kid and/or ‘the finished article’ he wouldn’t have been sent to League 1. What he lacks in finishing he more than makes up for in overall contribution.  He’s doing well. He’s developing. Give the kid a break (I know, another ridiculous comment).

As refs go he was one of the best I’ve seen in recent times. Maybe the players were proper men on both sides, but for me there was a distinct lack of play acting on all sides, the ref did a sound job and was well balanced in consistency terms. Fozzy might be a bit aggrieved but others got away with things on both sides. He’d get 4 stars from me.

I love British TV me and especially the beeb - says the frenchman - I get french TV and it is sh!te, most of it. The equivalent of MOTD is 1 a hour program on a Sunday morning. 20 mins of adverts. For several years TF1 did not show any goals from ligue 1 cos they hadn't bought the rights, I am not making this up, a MOTD with no goals or matches highlights. Amazon Prime have got the rights now and sold them highlights but they still don't show all the goals all as it would cost them too much and there isn't enough time for all the adverts. When France are playing, half time analysis is 14 mins of adverts solid followed by a 30 secs "detailed" analysis of the first half by Deschamp. By this I mean 1 question and answer from the on field reporter " Didier, what did you make of the 1st half?"
I used to work/travel abroad quite a lot. No foreign TV gets anywhere near British TV and this is mostly due to the beeb setting a very high standard -  as mentioned in my previous post.
Be careful what you wish for.

Bigfella reacted to Crewton in Warne's managerial start at Rotherham (it wasn't very good)
Do we really judge managers on their records after 5 league games, three of which have been heavily influenced by incompetent officiating? It's not really compatible with the responsible ownership model that I think the vast majority of fans were espousing as the way forward, is it?
The collective hysteria is getting a bit much.

If anyone hasn’t heard Warne’s RD interview I would encourage you to listen to it. One of the most refreshing honest interviews I’ve heard.

Tonight wasn’t about playing style (there were far more similarities to a Rosenior team than a Warne team tonight), first half it was too slow, too safe, there was no intensity, no tackles no winning second balls, the basics. We didn’t earn the right to play and it was the worst half of football from a Derby side at home that I’ve seen since the darkest days of Nige. Warne called it abhorrent and I think that’s the perfect description.
Second half while still not where we want to be was much better, but as Warne said the result of completely wasting the first half is that we chased it too much in the second and we didn’t take care in the final third.

Only players to emerge with credit tonight are Wildsmith, Cashin, Mendez-Laing, Roberts, Foz, Didzy and Dobbin. Smith also deserves credit for filling in at right back, I don’t think Sibley will be playing left back again now Warne has realised to quote him directly“ he’s the worst tackler in the world”
Bird and Hourihane need to do a lot more and reading between the lines I think the latter has been the focus of Warne’s anger tonight. He really hasn’t done anywhere near enough since he’s come to the club despite his obvious talent.

Blow losing Chester, the squad is looking thin but positive that Collins is back on Saturday. With the injuries he might need to switch to a back 4, think there is definitely a case for dropping Hourihane and playing Sibley in a midfield 3 with Bird and Smith, Sibley is the only one in midfield carrying the ball forward at the moment. We really need more from Max, he is capable whatever some are saying.
As @Jourdansays (can’t believe I’m agreeing with him), this is definitely teething problems with a new manager trying to understand his team, we need patience. Any argument saying this is the result of Warneball over Rosenior’s playing style is frankly lazy and IMO just plain wrong.
We go again on Saturday and hopefully we get a reaction because no one wants to see a first half like that again, it was truly horrific.
