LERam reacted to uttoxram75 in Paul Warne appointed as Head Coach
Derby fans have been behind Paul Warne from the first match. The support from the fans at the matches has been loud and proud  from day one.
I think some people make the mistake of thinking a dozen posts on a forum is representative of the match going fans. Its not. The forum gives people the chance to voice their concerns or opinions, being at the game tends to bring out the positivity to support DCFC whoever is in charge.
Only a couple of hundred actually post on here regularly, 25,000 turn up week in week out and support the team and manager.
I'm not sure why some are trying to make a case that us fans are not behind Warney.
Most of us were behind Rooney and believed he did a tremendous job in the most horrendous circumstances. One or two didn't like him and thats fine but the noise and love from the stands made it clear that the match going fans appreciated him and the respect and effort he got from the players.
The Rooney song was one of the loudest and proudest songs to be heard at PP.
You will always get a few who criticise the manager, even Clough, Mackay, Arthur and Jim had their detractors, it doesn't really matter, as long as we get behind the team and manager at every game.

Its not just when we lose. Its similarly OTT when we win. Suddenly we're going to win the league, PW is god,etc then we lose and it starts again in reverse! Seems worse since we appointed PW as few fans seemed to assume we're then automatic champions.

I am finding a new breed of fan rising from ashes of admin, that seems over the top with comments.
If we lose, worst game ever, sack the players, talking like defeats aren't a normal part of the game. It's so frustrating it's like they've not watched football before.
Maybe I just missed them before but especially online at least, some of our fans are becoming very intolerable at times.
And that isn't a dig at anyone in particular, this forum is by far the best for reasonable debate and opinion. FB makes me want to just quit football at times

Comments like "I've never been more embarrassed to be a Derby supporter" and "we can't win consecutive games" are what i had in mind, just as 2 examples. Allot of the stuff goes much further than merely 'raising concerns', or at least come across to me that way. The counterpoint views have mainly been posters pointing out that we weren't playing against any ordinary U21 side and our own selection had an element of 'training game' approach which produced a poor performance that many felt others were reading too much into.
I expect negative comments after any defeat but these, coming after a good performance on Saturday seemed well OTT to me.

Didn't see the game unfortunately, but I think it was important to get that first away win for Warne early on, so for me this is worth more than 3 points.
If we'd looked average, even above average and failed to win, the worry about will we ever win away again would set in. It could easily become this annoyance in the background for Warne and his team.
That's out the way now though

That win should be dedicated to all those amazing Rams fans who have continued to pack out those away ends over the psst 40 odd games, and suffered so much dross.

    Cambridge United (Away)
The first time we ever played them was 16th August 1980 in League Division Two (The Championship in old money).
It was the first game of the season after relegation from Division One at the end of the previous season.
Thousands of Derby fans travelled to Cambridge, I think officially it was 3,000 but it seemed as if many more made the journey. Maybe not all of them got into the Abbey Stadium...
My personal journey and one of my most vivid memories went something like this.
7 of us left Uttoxeter at 7am in a Ford Anglia van driven by a bloke who was a builder and became my best man at my wedding three years later. By the time we were on the A50 going toward Sudbury the first cans and bottles were open, cigarettes (mostly Players No.6) were being smoked, and that was just the driver.
We got somewhere near Leicester and had to stop for petrol, the driver got dogs abuse because we'd paid up front whilst in the pub the night before. He protested that he had filled up but we didn't believe him. We had to stop again somewhere near Thrapston on the A14, this time we had a look and the petrol tank was leaking!
We stopped at a road side pub soon after that was full of Derby fans, we got our beers and sat outside with loads of others. We saw a large van in the car park and witnessed some lads lifting one of the beer garden bench tables into the van. These lads explained there was 15 of them and no seats in the back, seemed reasonable at the time. A couple of them tried to put the swing from the kids play area in as well but they were thwarted in their endeavours by the others.
As we drove away from the pub we passed a large gentleman riding one of those bikes with a shopping basket on the front through this quiet village waving a Derby scarf above his head singing "we'll be back in "81".
On arrival at Cambridge, the car park was a field next to the ground. People were saying the pubs were full or not letting Derby fans in so we settled down on the grass, luckily we had more beer than petrol, the sun was out so a couple went off to a shop for sandwiches and pasties while we enjoyed the atmosphere.
The van we saw earlier turned up and the lads unloaded the pub table, complete with umbrella and the bloke on the bike, still singing "we'll be back in 81".
It was surreal but absolutely hilarious, the whole field was in great humour. As kick off time approached, people were packing up preparing to enter the ground when someone thought it would be good craic to open a gate adjacent to the field and let 30 odd cows stroll into the car park. Derby fans were laughing and trying to herd them onto the road, one lad even tried to lead one toward the ground but the cow was having none of it.
The police and stewards didn't know what to do, they were trying to control the cows while Derby fans were bunking into the stadium. Total chaos.
The away end was as full as an egg, spilling over onto the touchline at times, we lost 3-0, welcome to relegation.
We had a drink with a minibus full of Ilson lads somewhere on the way back, when we left the pub a couple of them were taking the one arm bandit apart for the cash while the rest were lined up at the bar shielding the activity. Bad lads from Ilson back then!
On the drive back we had to fill up the Anglia van twice more due to the petrol leak before arriving on the outskirts of Nottingham.
We all needed the toilet and a drink so we pulled into a place called, I think,  the Nottingham Knight. It was a hotel bar, quite posh for the time until us lot piled in, we sat in this lobby type space with our beers when someone noticed a glass display cabinet with photos of the gumps European Cup team in it. A Doc Marten went straight through the cabinet followed by outrage from the locals and no effs given by us. A bit of a brawl ensued in the car park before our battered, leaking, tired Anglia van somehow got us away and back home without us getting a good kicking or arrested.

I hope everyone going to Cambridge on Saturday has an equally memorable day out. ?

Think making this squad was always going to be unlikely given he hasn't even been through a pre season, the squad he really wants to make will be the World Cup, still plenty of time and games to make that.
Almost like he's become a hated ex player, don't get it, leaves or stays in the summer it would benefit us greatly if he stays fit and has a decent season there.
Ok, I would find it a struggle to wish Birmingham City do well, just Bielik on a personal level. A Bielik in the World Cup ?

    Good luck to him
Very harsh to write him off completely. The coaches and manager haven't got rid permanently so I assume they still believe he can do something. They see a lot more than we do from the 20 mins or so you might see him as a sub etc.
Players aren't robots, and a lot of things can affect how they play. Run of games, bit of self belief, experience in the adult game (not the u23's) may all help reach a decent level. I imagine seeing Plange doing his thing can put real pressure on a kid in the same position, he's probably so desperate to get some goals and get his career underway that it hinders your game. Hopefully he feels less pressure at Carlisle and finds the net.

From what I recall, there was a link circulating for a while (during the peak of fan frustration after the Kirchner bid collapsed) that allowed a complain to be made against an insolvency practitioner
However, it transpired that the only people who could realistically provide the level of details required for a complaint were those creditors who could prove that they suffered financial detriment.
Sadly "being an impatient fan who has had a couple of pints and wants to blow off steam about a process they know very little about" was not a reason for complaint

The trouble is, for every view on the subject, there is someone with the opposite view. The haphazard approach seems to appear ill thought out, but if the Monarchy or government demanded a total shutdown, there also be an outcry because we were being told what to do by the state. Different organisations have been given the freedom to show respect in a way that they feel appropiate and/or means minimal disruption to them.
Whatever arrangements are made, some people will or have been inconvenienced, but is this too high a price to pay for such an epic event, I don't think so. People suffer the same inconveniences regularly because of weather, strikes, accidents, etc amongst many other reasons.

Truly shocking the wining self entitled rubbish being spouted. It is a weekends football in respect of someone who has served this country for so long through war and peace, good and bad. Get a frigging grip!
