Well...... Forest owner said he’s taking Forest to the Premier League and among the elite so they can’t say too much either!

Although I remember Leicester owners saying the same thing and it sounding a bit far fetched

Didn't say they are not involved in the relegation conversation, I just don't think they will go down, I may be wrong. I think it will be between Derby, Coventry and Huddersfield. I sincerely hope Rotherham don't pick up another point but I think they can be hard to play against from watching our matches against all of those teams plus and I have a feeling they will go on a good run.

Rotherham have 9 matches left. I think it’s between Derby Coventry and Huddersfield but I’m starting to think we’ve had it after watching our last few matches.

I am expecting Rotherham to win some of their games in hand. We are in an awful position. I expect Rotherham to survive, hopefully we can get 2 wins at least but I have no confidence anymore. Playing nicely is all well and good but we need wins.

You talked about trust. The truth is that the football industry is messy, tough, complicated and very difficult particularly in the 2nd and 3rd tiers. If you want to look at a ratio of money spent to success achieved them maybe Mel didn’t do very well compared to some of his peers, but just remember this, Wigan went bust, Wednesday got a 10 point deduction, Luton had a scandal, Bolton all but collapsed.
During Mels tenure ...
ticket prices were stable or reasonable throughout his time.
the club (like a most champ clubs ) lost money Mel underwrote those losses.
The academy was developed significantly and positively
Managers came and went .. Mel backed them and their efforts - good and bad
When the FFP hit the fan Mel defended the club, won and paid the price by buying the stadium which is virtually worthless without DCFC as an entity. Something he cemented after the Americans wanted out
What exactly do you mean by trust ? .. you don’t trust him to win the league ? or because a financial consortium didn’t do what they promised to do ? or Cocu didn’t turn our journeymen into a Championship Barca ? Pathetic logic

TheresOnlyWanChope got a reaction from Rammy03 in Rooney Out!
We are playing a quality team and we don't have many options anyway. We can't just go for it without any control of the match. Cocu has tried, Rooney is trying....squad not good enough.

If we get relegated from our position we deserve relegation, don't think we should worry that much about other results 2 wins and a draw from 7 games isn't that much to ask for. Just as long as we pick up at least 1 point from the next 2 and don't lose to Birmingham we should be OK.

We’ve been terrible without fans ever since the end of last season. On the whole our home record has been good over last few seasons. We have big support at home. Loud fans in general, more fans than most clubs in this league. Wembley was rubbish atmosphere wise that’s true. Lack of fans has affected us a lot in my opinion.

TheresOnlyWanChope reacted to Steve Buckley’s Dog in Season Ticket Refunds
No refund. Not for me, not the Rams Squad refund for the lad.
We are owed for 19/20 and this year, who knows. I presume this is being carried forward-heard nothing really except that we won’t get any rams squad benefits for this year, which is fair enough, although we didn’t for the year before either. Apparently we are in a queue for a refund. Long queue not moving. Last time ever that I will renew early.
Interestingly the boy won’t watch Derby on TV anymore and the only players he can name are Waghorn and Lawrence. I can’t say I blame him although how he can remember Tom Lawrence playing is a mystery.
The lack of honesty and transparency really sticks in the throat. They should just come out and say that they can’t afford to pay anyone the money owed to us and they are very sorry for robbing their most loyal customers.
They could then perhaps offer Tom Lawrence as a human sacrifice. Although yet again by not playing today his mythical status and potential for actually scoring a goal increased. So maybe we will have to settle for Waghorn. I was going to suggest his head on a plate but I don’t think we have anyone at the club capable of setting anything ‘on a plate’ up.
Grim times for the club as a whole. I am not overly optimistic for the future on or off the pitch.

TheresOnlyWanChope reacted to Van der MoodHoover in Mel had a dream
Mel had a business plan, to invest in the academy, to try and "grow our own" talent, rather than try to compete with the huge franchises in the premier league. Whilst that was being developed to produce players, it would be supplemented by astute signings to generate a squad that couild not only gain promotion but sustain in the Premier League.
As a regional club that does not have a global brand reach, or is owned by a petro-state, this is not unreasonable and shows a level of foresight. It's a sensible sounding plan.
But oh, the execution. The academy has not generated players in numbers who command decent fees (Lowe and Bogle have been the pick so far) and the players who have stepped up to the 1st team squad are now struggling, so probably the academy has yet to break even on its own. The actions on the first team have been chaotic and costly.
So the strategy has clearly not been successful - but it could have been and it's not such a poorly thought out plan that it needs the abuse that some of the fan base seem to think is their right to dish out.

Club in its current state? Would be worse getting relegated. Oh and could be stuck down there for 10/20 years, who knows?

TheresOnlyWanChope got a reaction from OoooMarkWright in Team for next season's promotion push?
I don’t think the level Wilson is playing at now is relevant or the fact a few Derby fans moaned about Keogh (one of our better defenders in the last decade). Wilson was a quality player that season for a lot of matches, above anything we have now. Mount was quality too and was the stand out player. He might be better now, more experienced but he was obviously a Premier League player then. I would say he’s very similar now to then. Clarke is good, don’t know whether he is better than Tomori of 3 years ago though, I would say that is debatable.

We had Mount, Wilson, Tomori and Keogh in that team. With that kind of quality, other players would probably up their game.

TheresOnlyWanChope reacted to VulcanRam in Louie Sibley
People are being a bit over-sensitive here. Rooney was asked about Sibley specifically and answered. He didn’t ‘single him out’.
He’s right to as well if he knows what Sibley can produce but isn’t doing so in training or when he comes on.
Today he’s had 20 mins and was anonymous as anyone else other than missing a good chance from a corner. If you’re a sub you’ve got to go on and do something different, otherwise there’s no point going on.
I’m of the opinion that he’s due a couple of starts because those starting ahead of him aren’t delivering. But if the manager thinks he will respond to a kick up the backside, then time will tell if he’s right.
