Penalty conceded sweepstake... who had 54 minute?

I love British TV me and especially the beeb - says the frenchman - I get french TV and it is sh!te, most of it. The equivalent of MOTD is 1 a hour program on a Sunday morning. 20 mins of adverts. For several years TF1 did not show any goals from ligue 1 cos they hadn't bought the rights, I am not making this up, a MOTD with no goals or matches highlights. Amazon Prime have got the rights now and sold them highlights but they still don't show all the goals all as it would cost them too much and there isn't enough time for all the adverts. When France are playing, half time analysis is 14 mins of adverts solid followed by a 30 secs "detailed" analysis of the first half by Deschamp. By this I mean 1 question and answer from the on field reporter " Didier, what did you make of the 1st half?"
I used to work/travel abroad quite a lot. No foreign TV gets anywhere near British TV and this is mostly due to the beeb setting a very high standard -  as mentioned in my previous post.
Be careful what you wish for.

Although I didn't post my prediction on here that's exactly what I predicted for the 2nd half.

They must have seen some absolute dross if that is the case.
It was our second worst performance of the season behind Lincoln.
We didn’t once look like scoring all evening and gave the ball away so many times.
The mistake cost us. But that was down to Ipswich’s organized pressing.
Cambridge could quite easily say the same in that we only beat them due to a defensive howler.

I don't know how people can say it wasn't that bad. 
Derby couldn't string passes together. There was no possession in midfield. Very little possession in the final third. I can't remember any touches in Ipswich's penalty area. Every crossing opportunity was wasted. 
It was just possession along the back before dropping it behind their defence for someone to chase. And that ball was almost always a straight one that ran to their keeper. 
Maybe Warne will be good. Maybe Derby will win every game for the rest of the season. But that was definitely crap and if Ipswich had drawn it then they'd be heartbroken. They were pretty wasteful themselves and the only thing Derby did ok was defend their area 
A cobbled together team going to a top side in the league may well not be expected to win. But string a few passes together, chuck in a meaningful attack and put something in the area that looks hopeful isn't too much to ask. If you don't do that you should be fuming with your performance

Think that is an overly positive view. I thought Derby looked really poor. Couldn’t string passes together, individual errors, Another penalty given away. Thought it was a very disappointing performance, no threat at all apart from from 85 mins on wards.

My nephew, Jake passed away on August 12th aged 23. Despite being dealt a bad hand he enjoyed life to the full possessing a sharp, dry wit and a fondness for dressing well - the other thing we had in common ? was our love for Derby County!
Many of you will recognise Jake, a life-long season ticket holder in the West Stand attending matches with his Dad.
His family are orchestrating a minutes applause at the 23rd minute during the Port Vale home match on Saturday October 8th.
Extended family will be in attendance and there will be a brief write up about Jake in the match day programme. 
These tributes are becoming more common, but I think that because they are often not official and fan-led they are even more poignant - and it would be a great gesture for one of our own.
Assistance in spreading the word from members of this forum would be so very much appreciated.

Don’t get the excitement about this appointment - he’s a lower league manager whose teams play a less refined version of Rowettball and whose tactical ‘nous’ is found out at Championship level every time. Poor from DC this, especially the 4 year contract.

Don’t see why this is so surprising. LR is interim. Has he done enough to be permanent? Possibly but then again, style of play has been questioned and the away performances have been dreadful. If he’s staying on the coaching staff then great.

Liam has only been interim manager. I think if LR had been given the job full time and he was being relieved today for another manager then the whole situation looks a bit more desperate as he has not been given time but the plan may have always been for someone else to come in. A big question is do the away performances and form look like they will change anytime soon? If the answer is no (which I assume it is as we look dire), then I think a new manager is the way to go who will bring about something different on the road.

3 wins away last season, no goals this season and no wins. It’s a disgrace- change the tactics if we can’t change the personnel. 

This away form is depressing. Not acceptable. Don’t know whether LR is the answer. I would be happy to give him more time, the squad may be on the thin side but we should be doing better away from home- not scored a goal yet. It’s worrying and we won’t be staying close to top 6 for long. 

Not entitled to expect better- abject away performances for another season, no goal away from home and outplayed by mediocre teams. I would expect better from out team- something isn’t working. This away form is unacceptable.
