More fool Rangers for allowing something that size into the ground, regardless of what the image was. We struggle to get a flask of coffee and a couple of sausage rolls into PP.

That's fair. He deserves praise for getting Knight in and around the first team.

But once you join Derby, what you did in the past is no longer relevant, we can only go off the present. And so far, he doesn't get any from me, purely because he hasn't proven he's better than any of our previous managers yet, regardless of his obvious pedigree.

Because Lampard is the perfect example to contrast Cocu. I enjoyed what Lampard was doing with cups, and Cocu's decision was the precise opposite. I do think he's left himself open to more criticism, and lost a great deal of fan patience. If we end up losing to Brentford on Saturday, what are people going to say? We lost last night to save our players for Saturday, so that now becomes a must win in the eyes of many fans.
Lampard wasn't perfect, I would never paint that out to be, but I admired his philosophy on cups.
Cocu has a lot yet to prove. I'm not rushing out to praise him or push positivity, because I don't feel it, and I've yet to see any football that makes me feel positive about Cocu. When that changes, so will the tone to my posts.

So I was right then. It’s your personal pride that’s been harmed 🙄
Its the Carabao Cup. In August.
And the bigger picture is.......nothing is won in August and if you don’t trust and test youth you're only option is to spend to satisfy the impatient.

In your opinion. Others have a different one.
This was one game. One game that won't affect the outcome of rest of the season as we were highly unlikely to have actually won the cup. One game where Cocu obviously felt it necessary to put out the team that he did, for whatever reason.
The only reason a lot people have a problem with the selection is simply because it was against Forest.
Say the decision from Cocu for this season is that the league is the main focus and the cup games mean blooding youngsters, fringe players and those returning from injury to see where they are at, why should that approach change because of the balls drawn from a pot? Even if that means upsetting some people.
That's why others are talking about a bigger picture for the season, we have chopped and changed our approach so many times over the past few years, and most recently it's been through no fault of our own. If this is the plan for this season, so that we can become stronger in the long run then we should stick to it.
Many of the teams that succeed in this league are the settled ones, we have to let ourselves become one of them for the first time in a while and not be reactive to pressures and hyperbole from people disgruntled about what amounts to one game, in which there were no points at stake, in a season of at least 49 games. It's not like our manager is inexperienced and doesn't know what he is doing when it comes to ultimately winning things and bringing through the best youngsters, lets give him the time and the space to do just that.

Seems to me that a lot of fans are upset because their Forest workmates/friends are going to take the mick a bit over the coming days because they beat our second 11.  How distressing.  If anyone is getting too much ribbing please post and I am sure a good number on here can help you get through a difficult next 48 hours.

Don’t give a duck what team we put out if it’s capable of winning the match. That team obviously wasn’t, because we were hammered.
What I care about, is the fact we just got embarrassed by our local rivals. If that doesn’t piss you off, no matter what the competition is, then I don’t know what you’re doing as a football fan. The performance is what has highly pissed me off and has me worried. Our start to the season has been bank, I’ve been to 4 matches, I’ve seen 2 goals- one of which meant nothing and one was a pen. I’ve seen two points. An overreaction would be calling for cocu to be sacked or saying the youths will never be good enough. I don’t think being concerned and annoyed about our start and our current quality of squad is an overreaction to what we’ve see today or so far.

Was happy with the lineup, but knew a loss was likely. Not fussed at the (likely) result to be honest. Don't care about this competition, don't care that it's forest. Blood the youths.

Too many thinking about getting stick from Forest fans (who cares really?) rather than giving young players a shot at first team action. Those moaning about Cocu's team selection would also be the same whingeing if we'd put out the first team and got one or two serious injuries, saying why did he take the risk in a cup match.
    The guy can't win.

We can expect our strongest side to be put out against our biggest rivals. If it was Exeter City away i’d get it, but not tonight. It does nothing for the squad or the fans confidence.
