  1. Izale McLeod

Not so much a disappointment when playing as I thought he looked brilliant and a real handful. Strong, quick and powerful, a real number 9.

Disappointed that we sold him for peanuts and he smashed the goals in at MK Dons. Been a bit of a journey man since then but if we gave him a real chance he could have had a good career at Derby.

  2. This man will have better offers else where and can still do it in the Champ. I've always liked him, proper Centre Half.

That being said he is from Pinxton, down Pit. Derbyshire lad so might want to be back closer to home.

But there are so many other clubs I in the Midlands area that are much more attractive proposition than us that is still within an hour of Pinxton should he wish to be closer to home. Sheff Wed, Rotherham, Barnsley, Stoke etc. Not necessarily 'bigger' clubs but in a much better position and can probably offer him what he wants.

Our contract offer will probably tell him to bring his own pack lunch to Moor Farm as there will be no canteen.

  3. Can someone tell me where we are at please? Generally have no idea what is going on...

Chris still not bought the stadium? I have never been thrilled about him being our owner. If he wanted to buy us that bad he would just pay Mel the £20m he is asking for or whatever it is. If he hasn't got this sort of money then that worries me. It isn't a lot in the grand scheme of things. I think he's skint up and generally believe his takeover will fall through. He's not the right man at all. Going out in Derby with Bad boy Lawrence was equally as embarrassing.

The whole thing is a shambles!

  4. Whole thing smells of desperation to me. Administrators said no to him originally due to better offers, now they’ve gone crawling back to Kirchner begging him to bail them out?  Be interesting to know what kind of deal he has achieved.

I can’t get excited about Americans involved in football over here either. Remember last time we had yanks at the helm and they tried changing all the food items at the stadium, ‘long Albuquerque Chicago Rams mega XL hotdog’. Was so cringe how everything was Americanised. I can see it happening again.

The administrators have demonstrated their absolute ineptness as well. I remember that useless Hoskins going on Talksport last September with his pal Simon Jordan, both waxing lyrical about one another and Hoskins somewhat proclaiming everything will be sorted by Christmas. Why make statements like that when you haven’t even looked at the issues to begin with? The deeper they’ve delved they’ve been out of their depth.

oh well, hopefully it’s over now. Fight and win….

  5. No real arguments from me tonight. Thought Millwall looked organised, physical and regimented. Rowett ball at its best. They clearly did their home work on Festy, doubling up on him every time forcing him inside to the traffic. Or giving him a yard so if he did try and knock it past they had a head start. Impressed with their back 4 and their RB. At times they were just bullying our young lads, too physical and they couldn’t cope.

Looked a bit better with Colin up top. Putting himself about and wanting to be in a battle. Plange was as weak as a kitten at times and the difference between their hold up play was night and day. I like Plange but he definitely needs to get nastier, stronger and more aggressive and show he wants to bully centre halves. Colin’s body language you can tell he wants a battle, at times Plange looked intimidated. But fair play to their CBs.

Bennett looked strong and direct, always a player if he can stay fit.

Onto the next one, plenty of twists to come.

  6. Rooney has got it wrong today concerning left back position. He’s tried to fight fire with fire playing Buchanan against Jed Spence. Although Forsyth doesn’t have the pace he would have the know how given his experience. We play different with him in the side hitting him with long diagonal passes and it may have negated Spence having the ball so much.
I like Buchanan but he simply came up against a better player today. The second goal came from him not being strong enough and being bullied off the ball.

  7. Do we pay Rooney’s wages or is it 32 Red? I am assuming that if Everton want Rooney they would have to pay some form of compensation to Derby. In this scenario the adminstrators would probably bite their hand off if the compensation keeps the club Alive for the rest of the season. They will then just appoint someone within the club/Rosenior to manage the team until the end of the year or takeover conclusion.

But I assume that is only if Derby have Wayne tied to a contract and not 32 red?

If he does go, he will go in my opinion with a lot of respect from Derby fans. He’s given everything. Only one man to come in if he does go if we can tempt him out of retirement.

    Enter Neil Warnock.

  8. Newcastle fans are delusional when evaluating Ashley’s tenure. I am genuinely perplexed when they say he never ‘invested’ in the club:

    He purchase the following:

    Joel Linton £40m

    Joe Wilock £25m

    Almiron £21m

    Calum Wilson £20m

    Saint Maximin £17m

    Florian Thauvin £15m

    Jamal Wilson £15m

    Wijnaldum £15m

    Mitrovic £15m

The way he ran Newcastle enabled them to attract their new owners as they are in a position of stability and attract wealthy investors thanks to the way he ran their club. Same will probably happen at West Ham.

Ashley in for me, no brainer.

On a side note, glad Kirchner is out the picture. Ridiculous how he declared his intentions early and made it public when he did. Clearly couldn’t match rival bidders and tried to convince us that it was the administrators not him. He couldn’t admit he wasn’t the preferred choice. From the start I knew it wouldn’t work out given how he behaved and the way Derby fans were swooning over him was embarrassing!

    Oh well, nearing a conclusion.

  9. Best bit of Derby news this year. I am confused as to some fans view that he is a 'good player'. I've said it once and i'll say it again.. He has one half decent season at a very poor Ipswich team. When you look at his goals at Ipswich they were mostly just lucky worldies and he was just smashing them in from 30 yards out. There's no skill or finesse in that he is literally just twatting the ball as hard as he can. Anyway, that convinced Mel to fork out millions on him. When you look at his career he hasn't done much all, certainly not in a Derby shirt.

Infuriating to watch, greedy, undisciplined, and generally lacks quality. The amount of wreckless yellow cards he gets is ridiculous for a winger. His assist/goal return has been atrocious.

I can't help but put my head in my hands when we have a free kick and he is standing over it like Ronaldo. In his head he's thinking 'GoInG 2 KnUcKle BaLL ThIs ToP CoRNa LaDss'. Ends up in Row Z without fail.

Get rid, fell off my chair when I read he was on £37k a week for a mediocre championship winger. Or is he a winger or a 10 don't even know anymore. Captain as well, Jesus.

(awaits comments: 'he's got the quality just inconsistent' sigh...

  10. Reading through the past posts on this thread in which people defend Jozwiak and berate me.

the state of his performance yesterday, all to familiar. Deserved to be dragged off and should have happened earlier.

Oh well, his fan club will be out in force trying to convince me he’s good, LOL.

  11. Just now, Tyler Durden said:

I was sat right behind the dugout and it was amusing comparing and contrasting Rooney and Rosenoir - Rooney totally impassive, arms folded, Rosenoir jumping around like he had St Vitus dance.

The number of bottles of water Rosenoir quaffed was quite incredible too, maybe he's still hungover from his night out last weekend.

I would find that quite irritating if I were Wayne in that scenario. The players no doubt feed off the body language of their coach, perhaps being passive at times helps players relax, rather than screaming all the time a la warnock style. Maybe Rooney is purposely being passive to try and relax his players and if so, Liam behaving the way he does wouldn’t help and certainly sends mixed messages from the bench.

  12. Found Liam quite irritating today. He was constantly jumping from the bench in front of Rooney shouting instructions to the players. I very much doubt he was directed to do this by Rooney and was seemingly trying to manage the team as if he was head coach at times. It must have been quite frustrating Wayne, but he probably feels he cannot say anything.

I do sometimes feel Liam craves the limelight and recognition at times but fails to acknowledge he is the number 2 and at times forgets? He is very confident in his own ability but I do feel he undermines Wayne by procrastinating his own ideas as if he is the manager.
