Only the other day I added it to the watchlist. Didn't really know anything about it, but it did seem to be my sort of show.

@ketteringram Just bought The Lighthouse Sisters. It was only 99p on kindle 

Not sure if you've read it, but The Lighthouse Sisters by Gill Thompson is excellent. Well, for me anyway. 
Set in Jersey during WW2. 
I've read all of her books, and though they can get a bit samey, I've enjoyed all of them, but if you're only going to read one, make it The Lighthouse Sisters. 

Finished Queen of Dirt Island the other day. Unusual writing style, and I'm not keen on the way he does speech, but overall, I enjoyed it enough to try more. 
So have moved onto The Spinning Heart, which got delivered yesterday. Only a few pages in at this stage, but I think I'll enjoy this one more than Queen of Dirt Island. 
Did you get around to reading any of his other books?

I can browse books on my kindle but can’t buy them. I have to use Amazon on a phone etc to buy books 

I just don't care anymore. I don't care who's cheating or who isn't, to what extent they're cheating, or whether the rules are fair. I didn't develop an interest in football because I liked accounting and bureaucracy. Modern football is s***. Fans celebrating accounting tricks and balance sheets, whether in favour of or detrimental to their clubs, is pretty pathetic.

This is next on my to read list. Will probably be starting it tomorrow or Sunday. 

Finally finished Love/Hate last night. 
Long time since I've seen anything as good as that. Even though I really didn't like season 3. The rest of it was brilliant. 
As I've nothing in particular lined up, I may go straight back into a re watch. Really liked the way it wasn't afraid to twist and turn with what happens to the main characters, or what you think at the time are main characters. 
They nailed the ending too. So much happens in those last three episodes, as it builds to the final moments. 
 

Back to Love/Hate. I've just watched the last episode of S4, and the first one of S5. 
It's definitely getting better again, after the awful (to me) S3. 
That last one of S4, as a stand alone single episode, was absolutely brilliant.

I've finally finished the second season. Great ending. 
Left me puzzled though, about the delightful Mollie from the pharmacy storyline 🤔

Find a good broadband provider, then watch freeview and switch subscriptions on and off depending what you want to watch ie netflix, now tv, discovery+, apple, disney etc.

I've no issues with dialogue, having lived in Ireland for 20 years

I'm about half way through season 4 of Love/Hate.  Thanks to @Bob The Badger for the recommendation!
Think I already said this, but....
absolutely loved seasons one and two. Couldn't fault it. Really didn't like season three. A few reasons. I hated the storyline with Siobhan. Wish the writing just hadn't gone that way. Hated what happens with Tommy. Hated the fact that they even brought 'the Ra' into the story, and none of those characters worked for me. Didn't like the way the show just seemed to forget about their private life. For example, I'm pretty sure in the first two episodes of season 3, Nidge doesn't go home. He doesn't call home. Trish doesn't even get mentioned. If you joined the show at that point, you wouldn't know he had a family. 
Anyway.......season four has improved on three, but I'm not sure any of it from here, is going to match 1 and 2. 
 

 

Yes, season three is disappointing me a bit but only because of the high standards set by 1 and 2.  Not enough to stop me enjoying it though.

sadly, a colleague of my girlfriend had been struggling with mental health for a while, people were aware of his struggles, yet someone saw fit to complain about his standard of work, and reported/complained, eventually, he reached a cruel and devastating state of mind and decided to end it all. Some of my GF's friends are absolutely heartbroken having worked more closely with him (than my GF). We were in Prague over the weekend, and we had a few natural beers and it suddenly hit her quite hard, and she was totally bewildered and struggling to understand why this lovely fella had decided to take his own life.
In answer to some of her questions, I made reference to my own struggles, which I try to play down as low mood nowadays, but back when I started this thread, I was really struggling to find a reason to be alive. This shocked her a lot and I was mentioning some of the stories and explanations in this thread, and ultimately how it helped me.
I'm in a good place now, as I said a few weeks back, and I also know how to spot my decline and what to do to halt and reverse it. Basically, I jump on a treadmill 3 times a week for a month and I'm automatically on top of the world. I'm a rubbish runner, and it hurts, but sense of achievement is immense. I remember wanting to get to 1km non-stop, then 10mins, then 2km, then 2.5km nonstop, then all the way up to 5km nonstop, and then it was doing 5km in under 30mins, and eventually did it in 26mins, which for me was amazing having been medically advised to never run.
Anyway, what I am saying is, awareness is the first step to recovery, then needing to find your little cure is vital.
