We did get thrashed 4-1at the start of last season with Mount,Tomori and Wilson in the team. However by October the side was starting to gel. Tomori has been replaced quite well by Clark but Dowell seems to lack the goal scoring instinct of Mount and Wilson hasn't been replaced very well at all. Cocu also said that promotion might take more than one season. Bielik seems to be a good signing, and we have been unlucky with injuries and fitness problems concerning Bogle, Marriott and Holmes. Hopefully things will settle down. Lampard couldn't initially field his best side because neither Waghorn or Marriott were fit.

Why shouldn't he take it? because his penalty technique is poor. That's why.

In Waghorn's case his record is 50%. He has cost is victories to date against Swansea, Stoke and West Brom.

Please bring back Wilson. He knew how to take a penalty.

It is not unfair. He is paid to score goals and should be able to convert a penalty.

Dowell awful. Penalty misses cost us 4 points already this season. Frustrating.

Farke had an average first season at Norwich but his second season was fantastic. I don't mind not challenging for promotion this season provided the foundations are placed for a challenge next season.

Cocu also need some luck with injuries and needs Waghorn to take his chances. We could easily had nine points had Waghorn scored the penalty against Swansea and taken a gilt edged chance against Stoke. It is a shame Butland turned up for our game but not last night for Preston!

He hit the target and the goalkeeper made a good save. It wasn't a bad miss. The problem is that we generated very few clean cut chances and that was one of them.

He can start and play 60 minutes and be substituted. Waghorn is brainless.

If we are going to start with such a defensive line up, then the very least we can expect is a team that is able to defend. At the moment we can't.
I'd rather see us going gung-ho and getting caught out occasionally than playing a six man defence that still messes up.

We could play all night and we still won't score. Wilson and Mount are sorely missed. Dowell isn't in the same class as Mount.

Sir Cocu's calm and precise analysis of the Stoke match surely shows a master at work.
He's unhappy at four points lost, despite a far from ideal and rather short pre-season. This shows the high winning standard he has set for the squad. No talk of the last 12 games being the key to promotion - every game is the key to promotion from August onwards.
He explains how he saw the first half today and why he made what some saw as baffling changes. He then describes succintly the resulting improvement whilst calmly listing the failings which need to be eliminated.
He doesn't talk about Plans A or B, he analyses what's happening in the match and changes formations, tactics and players as soon as the need is evident.
Our captain who's had more than his fair share of club and international managers, says training is an eye-opener. Gradually, we can see why.
Sir Cocu is taking our club to a higher level than I can recall in many decades. No banal generalities, no superficial banter with the interviewer. The players ere expected to work hard mentally as well as physically.
It seems to me that Frank relied on a team formula of hard work, energy, and pressing whilst he motivated the players with his personality, humour and winning determination. Frustratingy it didn't always work, especially away to inferior teams. In contrast, our new management is more cerebral and concentrates on developing each player's technical and positioning and adaptability skills, as well as the team performance. So those players of any age who want to improve themselves and be stretched will relish the fabulous opportunity. Those that don't or can't will fall by the wayside, if the steely glint in the manager's eye is anything to go by.
Of course there will be setbacks and disappointments. But there's some real building work going on here and it's a privilege to see it unfold.
Thanks DCFC for the astute and synergistic investment in facilities and management.

I would agree given the money Stoke have have spent. Butland is a top class goalkeeper, Clucas, Allen,Ince ,have all cost significant money and have played in the Premier league, Hogan cost Villa £10 million, Woods was also expensive. Stoke aren't a bad side regardless of their league position. It is a good job they can't finish!
Derby should improve in the midfield once Bielik is fully fit and Bogle returns.
