Derby County versus Northampton Town (H) Match Thread

Good performance against one of the worst teams we've seen at Pride Park in recent years, but you can only beat what's in front of you. We absolutely must follow this up now and go into games with attacking intent, rather than approaching them as if we're the underdog. -

Sonny Bradley has been fantastic tonight. Not had an awful lot of defending to do, but no mistakes in possession and looked very calm when put under pressure. -

Fast-forward a few months and we've got a couple of injuries up top. We're losing and need to change things to get back into the game. Warne brings on Wilson to help in attack and tells the media Brown just isn't ready as he hasn't played much senior football. 🤐 -

Go and score another few here and get the confidence flowing, and then PLEASE do not turn back to the underdog mentality in the coming weeks against Barnsley, Bristol Rovers, Reading etc. -

And another penalty decision not given! The refs in this league are hilarious Edit: Might actually be the first correct decision we've seen in a while. -

Nyambe left wing back, Wilson to right wing back and once again we have 3 holding mids in the middle behind two attackers. I better get strapped in, this could get exciting!!! -

We have. Very little going forward and the defence is looking really poor so far. Cashin and Fozzy are both on yellows and have been run ragged down that side all game long. We keep giving them free kicks just outside the area as well (literally just given away another on the edge as I'm typing this). -

1 point from Cheltenham and Shrewsbury.

Cross and cross and corner and cross and long throw and cross and cross and cross and concede and cross and corner and long throw and cross and cross.

It is actually crazy how he plays so many players who's favourite position is through the middle, but we always seem to lose the midfield battle.
-
Yeah, us armchair managers have been screaming at Paul to shove Sibley out wide and continue to just cross it into the box and play for set pieces. Glad he listened
-
The same as 99% of games under Warne against supposedly inferior teams - get it out wide and cross it, or play for set pieces so we can cross it.
