Paul's plucky underdogs came so close to a huge upset, but it just wasn't to be today.

Think his foot was cut during a challenge. He continued on and scored, so can't imagine it is really serious one.

And if we're worried Bird might not be fully invested now he's got his move ... Peterborough have done the same with Mason-Clark and he's a much more important player for them than Bird is for us currently.

Very talented. There will be games here and there when he's not getting involved much and it can be frustrating, but when he's on it, he's a joy to watch. He's been a bit hot and cold this season and not really performed to the level we know he can, but I personally put a lot of that down to the system he's playing in. He's a midfielder who likes to pick a pass and dictate play , but is currently playing in a system that revolves around getting it out wide and letting the wingers/full backs do most of the work. We very rarely play through the middle and he's not the best crosser of a ball, so he's not doing an awful lot for us at the minute, through little fault of his own.

I thought that had already been announced, or at least it was known that we'd triggered the option? Unless you mean a new extension to keep him beyond 2025. That'd be nice! 😆

Gayle, Fosu, Onomah, Ejaria, Etebo, Wickham, Ameobi. Some decent players there, but all of them have barely kicked a ball for 6 months + and would take ages getting up to speed.

So is half our team mate 🤣 That seems to have been the strategy under Warne - buy players who haven't played much in recent times due to injury or not holding down a starting spot and gamble that they can regain form and fitness here. Waghorn, Washington, John-Jules, Wilson, Embleton, Sonny and now Adams all had injuries (mostly serious) the season before signing for us so hadn't played much football. And nearly all of them have once again picked up injuries since signing for us.

I've got a friend who's a Middlesbrough fan and he said their version of Big Trav has said they've had a bid rejected for Langstaff. So if Boro can't agree a suitable fee after just receiving a huge chunk from the Rogers sale, we'd probably struggle to find the funds Notts are looking for unfortunately.

Option 1 - Play a strong team and comfortably beat a heavily rotated mid-table League 2 team as Warne wants to win this cup. Option 2 - Play some of the kids and give them some much-needed first team experience. We decided to take option 3 which was fail at both 🤣

I've actually got a bit of sympathy for Oxford. It sounds like their squad has been crushed with injuries and so their current 11 who are fit have been run into the ground over recent weeks. They probably didn't have the players or the energy to do much else apart from sit back and defend for their lives. If not for their good start, we'd have probably given them a bit of a thumping.
