We have as much European pedigree as Spurs, and we've won the league more recently as well. Where's our invite?!

I see a lot of comments like this and have to say I'm a little bit surprised by it. Of course Premier League was created out of greed, but for me, you cross a line when you start to create competitions not based on sporting merits.

Jury's out on Rooney at the moment. His man management skills appear much stronger than Lampard's - motivating Sibley and Waghorn, getting the best out of Kazim-Richards, bringing through more young players. But the football we play is absolutely dire, and the team selections are consistently pretty unimaginative.
Some of this is Cocu's legacy of unpenetrative possession football which obviously needed fixing. The one thing you can say for Cocu is that he used the academy well and integrated youngsters into the first-team squad. I feel like we're going backwards under Rooney in that regard. Buchanan has kicked on a bit, but Knight has been transformed into a midfield runner without much quality, and Bird and Sibley are both having poor seasons.
If our goal next season is staying in the Championship while cutting costs, then we should keep Rooney. He might manage a top-half finish. But I seriously doubt he could get us promoted, unless Erik Alonso buys a new team worth £100m and loans in a bunch of Real Madrid academy players. In which case any manager could probably get us up!

I think the 'quitting' debate is a really difficult one in this situation. On the one hand, it looks awful from a branding perspective as you say. The best boxers have a screw loose and so would choose to go out 'on their shield'. It does suggest Dubois could be lacking a killer mentality.
At the same time, he's 23 and clearly wasn't ready for this fight. He looked shook up from the first time Joyce hit him. And going blind is not worth saving face, in a fight he probably would have lost anyway.
I think his trainers really let him down, you could tell Martin Bowers wanted him to tough it out and win/lose on points. He didn't show much ring IQ last night. Mouthing off about 'putting Joyce to sleep' is one thing but despite his lack of defence Joyce didn't wobble once. It's a massive step up to go from fighting bums who have probably agreed to throw in the towel after 2 rounds, to Joyce who is a top 25 HW and is never going to show Dubois that respect

Dubois quit, but no shame in that, could have risked permanent damage to that eye. I think his trainers have a lot to answer for - him quitting by taking a knee is not a good look compared to them throwing the towel in which they should have at least considered. Plus why not teach Dubois to move his head! He was eating jabs all night.
Warren is just crap. Saw Dubois as his cash cow so pushed him way too early. He was so disrespectful to Joyce afterwards as well. And the undercard was terrible

Can’t think what I’d do without these two... they really are the best, as much as I’ve rescued them they’ve rescued me! Anyone struggling I can not recommend a pet enough, gives you responsibility and something to get up for, gives you unconditional love and accepts you for who you are, they really are the best.

    Revise. Please, please revise.
You will not regret my advice. Although my advice is on the assumption you're going to uni? If that's wrong then forget this advice.
For university holds many things. Fire engine call-outs, illegal substances, take-aways, beer, football and the odd lecture and arrest.
The freedom when you've been unshackled from your cruel, cruel parents will feel like we've just beaten the likes of Watford and Bournemouth in the Premier League and have risen up the table to 16th and just a minus 16 goal difference.
You'll find people there who support teams like Coventry and Portsmouth. You can reel off all our dissapointments and see who really has suffered the worst season.
And then there's the women. Treat them with respect . Remember, they don't care about how many games you've been to, or how many times you've been away this year. They're not interested in seeing the Derby/Sheffield Wednesday bounce on Youtube, or that Wanchope goal at Old Trafford with Graham Richard's voice playing over the top.
It is the best place in the world. Freedom, lack of responsibilities, optional part-time employment only, free money to spend on dodgy haircuts and fashionable clothes that just don't suit you. You might even make some friends .
Revise. It'll be worth it. Get on the course you want to at the uni you want to.

Posh Ram got a reaction from Carl Sagan in Rate the last film you saw partie deux
Came here because of @Carl Sagan's tag, stayed for film reviews.
Hell or High Water - 7.5/10. Modern Western with Jeff Bridges, who I'm a big fan of.
The Big Sick - 8/10. Not a huge rom-com fan but watched it with the family at Christmas. This mixes up the tired usual formula and is an interesting exploration of interracial issues.
    Logan Lucky - 6/10. Decent enough Ocean's Eleven knock-off.
Inherent Vice - 9/10. Weird stoner film but it could be a cult classic. Great acting from Joaquin Phoenix/Josh Brolin.

Per whoscored, last season Bamba averaged a 7.35 match rating and picked up 5 MotM awards.
Keogh - 6.94/3 (this season he's been excellent though)
    Shackell - 7.14/1
Statistically, at least, Bamba would improve our defence but given how well our CBs are playing right now he could give us a great back 3 for this level. I have to agree with B4 here!

Matt Edmondson is by far the most irritating individual ever to be allowed on the radio.  His voice wants to make me cut my ears off, blend them and pour the resulting mulch down the toilet!!!  Other than him, I still enjoy Radio 1, however I'm getting scarily close to finding the songs they play indistinguishable from each other and switching to Radio 2.  At which point I will buy myself a pipe and tartan slippers because I'll be officially old...
