As others have said the issue is with the weakness of our midfield. Our team isn't geared up to pump it long, which means we need to play through midfield. But our midfield isn't working. To play from the back you need constant movement and rotation from the midfielders to receive the ball. It's tough for the defence when the midfield isn't providing sufficient options.
Would any of Shinnie, Sibley, Dowell, Bird, Babos help compared with Bielik, Huddlestone, Holmes and Knight?

Carl Sagan got a reaction from DesertRam in Roos, Carson or a new senior keeper
The only goal conceded today was from a good goalkeeping save but our fullback didn't know where he was, where his feet were and where the ball was, so ended up scoring an own goal with no attackers around him. Unfortunate but not the keeper's fault. Roos tried too be brave in dealing with the press but not taking stupid risks, and went long when he had to. He made a few good saves. In comparison the Leeds keeper looked a total liability when anything went near his box. I hate the scapegoating. Why do fans have to pick on someone all the time?

Agree on both counts. Very surprised Bielik came off yesterday. It wasn't his best performance but I think he's finished every match really strongly, dominating the latter stages, when Huddlestone is pretty spent long before then. And Huddlestone doesn't have the mobility.
Evans is out for a while and Davies, for all his strengths, lacks pace and isn't as good on the ball as Clarke (even if Clarke didn't have his best game yesterday).
The whole team will look better when Bogle comes back in and the defensive balance is restored.

I always get Luton and Lincoln mixed up. Guess in a wildcard search they're both L*n. Though I don't mix them up with London town.

Bad day for Luton yesterday, losing to Hull 3-0 as well 😂

I know they've both been quite patchy so far, but I genuinely believe they'll come good and will be key when we (hopefully) finally click.
    What do you reckon?

Keogh most certainly is, and has done under many different managers we've had. He's a brilliant ball playing centre back.

Good to see him getting time in the league as he hasn’t even made the squad since the cup game

It was bloody rubbish said Mick. Even a bloke in a wheelchair got up and walked out.

Midfielders need to show more options, defenders can't play forward if their are no options.
Don't be fooled by yesterday, Leeds are the best pressing side in the league. They make you look poo at passing, but if you can beat the press you get opportunities. You have to keep trying.
If we as a team want to play out from the back, we have to keep playing out from the back. It's simply the only way we get better. We'll have a much easier time against other teams and will improve as long as we stick at it and work out the problems in training.

Correct Sir! Yet their home results are starting to show a flaw in Bielsa’s gruelling demands...they’re forked after 65 minutes so if you’re still in the game at that point you can pick them off in the final 25 mins. Credit to Cocu...he got it tactically right. He just needs to find the right starting combination and we’ll start to see more points on the board.
I’d be tempted to get Sibley in the squad. I think he’s got real potential.

I really think Bielek is restricted by having no midfielders or wide players to support.
Two holding midfielders would only work if you had someone mobile with him. Bielek would have worked perfectly with our midfield last year. He is always looking to go on the front foot. Unfortunately there was no outlet and movement in front of him which meant that he had to turn and try to take somebody on.
With the wingers we have at our disposal, I’d scrap playing them, encourage Malone/Lowe and Bogle to push forward from wide and have players with an engine either side of Bielek (ie Holmes, Knight, Sibley, Shinnie and even possibly Paterson) or a diamond and then play two up front.

For me Davies cannot come in at the back as he is so uncomfortable on the ball.

Not sure today is the best time to assess our attributes for this.
We've just played by far the best pressing team in the division.  They are exceedingly good at it, despite what the result shows.
I doubt we'll struggle so much against anyone else, and particularly at home, so gotta be worth persevering with for a while longer, at least.

All three subs made a difference. What a wonderful thing to see Chrissy Martin leading the line, winning freekicks, linking up play and scoring a fabulous goal.
In some ways we were unlucky. Never a foul for a freeekick that led to their goal, then Bamford was offside from the freekick before knocking it across, then it was a good save from Roos but with no danger Lowe lost his bearings and put it into his own net. Then their penalty was a dive by the Bamford Bamford. Then we should have had a penalty when Clarke's shirt was oh so obviously held onto in the box for several seconds as he got away from his defender for a header. You understand refs missing fleeting moments but not such defensive desperation.
We were resilient. We stayed in the game. On the whole we were pretty rubbish but if you're together, stay in the game and prey on the anxiety of their crown and players, you often get something.
And watching his performance on the pitch and interview afterwards, Chris Martin is a leader of men. He fits the Cocu way of playing. These sorts of games can be a turning point.

    DEAR NEIGHBOUR:
Hi, Max. This is Richard, next door. I've been riddled with guilt for a few months and have been trying to get up the courage to tell you face-to-face. When you're not around, I've been sharing your wife, day and night, probably much more than you. I haven't been getting it at home recently. I know that's no excuse. The temptation was just too great. I can't live with the guilt & hope you'll accept my sincere apology and forgive me.
Please suggest a fee for usage and I'll pay you.
    Regards
    Richard
Max, feeling enraged and betrayed, grabbed his gun, went next door, and shot Richard dead. He returned home, shot his wife, poured himself a stiff drink and sat down on the sofa. Max then looked at his phone and discovered a second text message from Richard.
    SECOND TEXT MESSAGE:
Hi, Max. Richard here again. Sorry about the typo on my last text. I assume you figured it out and noticed that the darned Spell-Checker had changed "wi-fi" to "wife." Technology, huh? It'll be the death of us all.
