No idea.
Feels like we play Thompson as he runs a lot, can work in odd moment like last weekend. Today not though

Exactly. This formation has lo9kwd so much better with Sibley and Ward/Wilson.
It’s a back three rather than a back five isn’t it!
previously we’d end up with only about three creative players on the pitch! Is a lot more balanced now.

I think it’s working because he now has fit players on form able to fit the set up. It’s the old round holes thing.
I think the wing backs actually attacking is the big difference e

Standing and seating tickets are on sale at the same time so you can choose either, it’s the same set up as we now have at Pride park for away fans.
How do you know the vast majority want to stand, if the person in front of you is standing up you don’t have a choice. If buying tickets at the front is your only advice I assume you haven’t been to many away games in the last couple of years 😂
Just look around at games? We chant at away fans at home if they don’t stand up! Watch tv, 90% of away ends stood. A lot more home fans too around the country.
i’m not saying it’s right but I just don’t see what it’s going to achieve keep bringing it up.
What’s your advice? Keep making comments on a forum? Not sure that will help any more than my advice!

Interesting how many of the seats have gone first, I bet a good 60% of them to people with no intention of sitting down.
I'm looking forward to watching the fun!
I think people just desperate for a ticket. Take what they can.
I get what you’re saying about sitting down but doesn’t feel an argument you’re going to win. Vast majority of people want to stand. Buy tickets at the front about the only advice I can think of.

We seem to be playing so much quicker than previously, it’s really good to watch comparitvely. The attacking wing backs genuinely help going forwards, we have a lot more creative players on the pitch.
Adams been a great signing, Gayle too. Ward is like a new signing and barkhuizen been excellent last three games.
Great time of the season to be hitting form! Roll on Saturday!

Am happy to say Gayle been far better than I expected him to be! Has a lot of good touches. Was always going to be a good finisher. Looks pretty fit and still reasonably quick as well.
3 at the back working well currently, may get to a point in games where we go to a four and then two up front. Gayle think would be better with a partner up front.

I've long thought that perhaps the management team should be based away from the touchline, like you sometimes see in Rugby League (I think).
It would stop a lot of the current shenanigans involving managers and indeed the fourth official.
Surely a manager / head coach would also benefit from a decent view up in the stands somewhere.
Yeah I don’t get the fourth official role, it’s like they’re there to be moaned at.

And he has worked hard. Watched him play for under 21s recently and he put a real shift in. Man amongst boys - literally.
Fornah, on the other hand, who was also playing, didn't look interested.
Thought ward looked fitter than most yesterday, looked quick, sprinted often and made some great tackles. Really impressed

I agree, though I thought he got better as the game wore on. As someone else suggested above, I think he sometimes struggles in a back 3. It's something I hope the coaches are working on if this is the formation we're going to run with (TBH, with all of the conventional full-backs injured, do we have a choice?)
I think he has more of the ball and also space to carry it into or make a pass. Not his strength.
where as in a four you generally have the full back to pass too so is noticeable on the ball as much.
if we insist on the three, nyambe a better fit for the right sided centre back. Nelson in the middle and cashin left?

Still don’t particularly like this back three. Bradley is slow and ponderous, Nelson isn’t vastly better either. Means we play at such a laborious pace most of the time.
Today was better because the space that was in the wide areas was occupied by Sibley and Ward who are good enough going forward to use it. That hasn’t been the case for awhile with Elder, Nyambe and (shudder) left back Cashin. You can’t really play a back 3 and then two wing backs who are also bad on the ball.
Agree about Nelson, he looks a lot more exposed on the ball playing in a three. Cashin always looks a lot better in a back four as well. But feels like he is insistent on his persevering with the back three.
actual attacking wing backs helped so much though, stayed high and keeps us up the pitch

Enjoyed today, that is more what a back three can do. Our wing backs actually attacked and were an asset. Both had excellent games.
much more of a plan and could see what we were trying to achieve.
closer to having players back too! -

Yeah I’d be happy to also.

Feels weird but we just need to forget the last two games and start again.
really feels like winning five or six in a row at this point will be enough for promotion.
Hopefully getting more options at the top of the pitch, Gayle and waghorn be fitter each game. Sibley at 10 seems a no brainer in our situation currently, he at least gets shots off.
just a back to basics 4231 seems to be the way forward on this, as many round pegs in round holes as possible. The extra defender is not making us any better defensively and hinders us offensively.

I just don't understand the attitudes of some. Why come on here just to be negative regardless of the result? The game and the season aren't over yet.
Because it’s not over yet but Warne is killing any chance of promotion and stuck in this division again. We are awful
-
I know we’re second or third but would anyone be sad if Warne left?
anyone could get this much out of our players.
-
-
f**** sake, why do we never look safer with three at the back
-
Been surprised and impressed by the start! Just seems a lot more tempo and purpose than recently. Think is what we’ve all been wanting to see.
cashin seems to be playing a bit of a hybrid role.
good to see us taking the game to the opposition.

Not sure if it’s 4-3-3
Wildsmith
Nyambe Nelson Bradley Cashin
Smith Adams Bird
Wilson Gayle NML
or 3-5-2
Wildsmith
Nelson Bradley Cashin
Nyambe Smith Adams Bird Wilson
NML Gayle
hope it’s the first option personally
And me but highly doubt is playing cashin left back.

What the actual?
Agree, think looks a horrible team. Nyambe is not a wing back.
leaves it to Wilson to attack, then we have a back three and two defensive mids. Bird to push on and Gayle and nml.
we might well win, but we’re playing a team near the relegation zone, should be far less worried about the opposition.

He might think that with Adams and Smith happy to drop back to help protect against breaks, he can really release Wilson and Sibley to support the front two.
Our wing backs have often seemed reluctant to commit.
Personally I’d play 4-3-3 every week and let opponents worry about us rather than the other way round.
Yeah I agree that a back five can be attacking, have yet to see it under warne though.
yeah similar, 4231, 433 are pretty similar anyway. Usually have one of your three midfielders who attacks more anyway a la Bryson.

Today was awful, poor from first to last! Bradley really let us down, not sure I want to see him play again.
hourihane was awful as well.
changing to a back four seemed an obvious change but felt Warne had a bad day today after a few good weeks.
need a reaction friday
