Just a quick note on our form. 12 points out of the last 15 available.
18 points from the last 10 games, which is equivalent to 82 points over a season.

This is the nail on the head for me. I can only speak for myself, but exercise is my way out of low/dark moods. I’m currently typing this during a half time rest during a spinbike session (pedal to the whistle of the match!).
was in a rut in January. A vicious circle of no energy, no exercise, no rest! All affecting the other.

For me though, had to build up to a positive change, so had a week of eating, drinking, binning the fizzy pop, carbs, goodies etc.

so far in Feb, ive eaten only chicken, fish, salad, apples and bananas, oh and nuts to snack. Only drank water, milk and squash, and a mocha out of the machine at work.

Ive had 3 big spin sessions. My sleeping is better, energy is better and as a byproduct my mood is much better.

Just wished to make my self known in this thread and kudos to the thread starter.

Suffered with Anxiety when I left the Army, I think it was always there, but leaving just accelerated the process . I mentioned on a post a while back that last year was my first Game at Pride Park in 5 years or so. I broke contact with all social media and friends as I  just could not fathom the process of people and crowds, the nerves I had driving in the car, seriously I contemplated turning back numerous times . I got to the ground 50 minutes before kick off and left 15 minutes before just so I could cut any sort of social interaction or anyone seeing me at all. I still suffer, I think I always will to be honest. But, that was the biggest achievement I could have ever made. Seeing my beloved Derby County in the flesh, my childhood team that I would follow home and away. It’ll always be a part of me, I know that. I’m still doing counselling and will be for a while (thank you to a certain Military Charity) and also thank you to Derby County’s supporter Liaison officer who made that game possible.
I would love to help or speak to anyone I can regarding any problems they may have and most of all be a friend.

It may be a day late but yesterday was “time to talk day” so I thought I’d give this a nudge to the top of the list.
2020 was a tough year for everyone and I struggled for one reason or another.  A few times I’d typed a post in here to get things off my chest and ended up pressing delete.  I don’t know why - shame, embarrassment, worried my problems weren’t real issues or because I’m a bloke?  Who knows.  I ended up taking some time off work in December as I was struggling so much.  I felt trapped, stuck and unable to think clearly
I have to say having the time off was one of the best things I’ve done as most of my anxiety/stress was caused by work.  And that in itself was tough - just like I’d deleted posts, several times I put the phone down whilst waiting for the doctors receptionist to answer.  For the first time in years I was able to switch off, think about how I’d got myself to that place and, importantly, think about what I could do to solve it.  I’m now starting to see the wood for trees and I’m having CBT sessions for anxiety.
It’s a journey but I think I can now see a way forward.
If you do look at this, thanks for taking the time to read my post.  But most importantly, every day should be “time to talk” day.  And this time I didn’t press delete!!

Whenever I see your avatar as the most recent poster on a thread I think "let's see what poor sod Tyler Durdan is telling off now with his beautifully worded misery".

I've done some analysis and think the playoff charge is still on...
14 points behind 6th place Bournemouth: we've taken 4 points off them and they look poor. Lost 3 on the row now and could be within sight if both our form and theirs continues for a couple of games.
12 points behind 7th place Boro with game in hand: 4 points from last 5 games, beat them and win game in hand then we need to make up 6 points over 18 games. Easy.
11 points behind 8th place Blackburn: probably hardest to catch as on good form. Will need them to start dropping points soon to put the pressure on.
11 points behind 9th place Bristol City: did you see them today? They are rubbish.
10 points behind 10th place Stoke with a game in hand: just 3 draws from last 5 games. Looked poor against us. Very catchable.
8 points behind 11th place Preston down to 2 points behind 17th place Coventry. 3 teams we have games in hand over and all the teams in this group of average.  Good chance we'll finish above all of these.
Summary: We'll need Bournemouth's poor form to continue but only them and Blackburn look tricky to catch.
We're 5th in the form table over 10 games and 1st-6th contains us, plus the top 5 in the league. We just need to find a way to beat the weaker teams now.

Its not 1 million profit though is it. We have spent so much money on our academy and spent a lot of time and effort on this kid alone, let alone the cash side. What's the point of an academy if your attitude is, well he might not make it anyway let's sell him at the first opportunity.

Derby fans getting riled up about us being referred to as "County".
We were formed out of the County Cricket Club and the team represents Derbyshire, not just the City of Derby. So suck it up, it's part of the clubs identity.

My wife kept her maiden name. No changing to mine, no double barrell stuff. In fact, sometimes I get called Mr Brennan, which is kind of weird but not an affront to my masculinity. I'm quite happy not to own her.

Not eating these tonight, but will definitely sample part of one tomorrow.
I decided to try my hand today at making a hand-raised pork pie (actually, I made two). In the process, I test-drove my new meat grinder - perhaps the best £25 I've spent recently that wasn't on beer. I must have read about 10 methods, and all the recipes were vastly different as far as the hot water pastry was concerned. Some had twice as much lard as water, some had twice as much water as lard, and so on.
Another issue was making the pastry case separate to the pie, by using a jar, bottle, dish or anything like that as a mould, then putting it in the fridge until the pastry hardened, then trying to remove the (uncooked) pastry from the outside of the mould without breaking/damaging it. In the end, I decided to just roll the pastry out, mould the meat into the dimensions I wanted and then hand-raise the pastry around that. It seemed to work fine.

Several men are in the locker room of a golf club. A mobile phone on a bench rings and a man engages the hands-free speaker function and begins to talk. Everyone else in the room stops to listen.
    MAN: "Hello"
WOMAN: "Hi Honey, it's me. Are you at the club?"
    MAN: "Yes."
WOMAN: "I'm at the shops now and found this beautiful leather coat. It's only £1,000; is it OK if I buy it?"
MAN: "Sure, go ahead if you like it that much."
WOMAN:"I also stopped by the Lexus dealership and saw the new models. I saw one I really liked."
    MAN: "How much?"
    WOMAN: "£60,000."
MAN: "OK, but for that price I want it with all the options."
WOMAN:"Great! Oh, and one more thing... I was just talking to Janie and found out that the house I wanted last year is back on the market. They're asking £580,000 for it."
MAN: "Well, then go ahead and make an offer of £500,000. They'll probably take it. If not, we can go the extra eighty-thousand if it's what you really want."
WOMAN: "OK. I'll see you later! I love you so much!"
MAN: "Bye! I love you, too."
The man hangs up. The other men in the locker room are staring at him in astonishment, mouths wide open.
He turns and asks, "Anyone know whose phone this is?"
