May Contain Nuts got a reaction from G STAR RAM in James Collins
Yawn. More divisive b******* that completely (intentionally) misrepresents people's arguments.

May Contain Nuts got a reaction from i-Ram in Paul Warne
As has already been said - EVERYTHING on here is opinion. Some opinions are stronger than others. Everybody (well... mostly everyone) expresses their opinion differently.
My opinions are based on things I've observed when watching Derby play, arguments and analysis I've either done myself or seen other reputable posters put forward in a clear and concise manner. When I'm writing a post I try to put things in an order I can understand, a logical and analytical path I can follow. It's a process to help me keep things clear in my head.
Sometimes I write and re-write things so often, trying to cover as many bases as possible while keeping things 'straight', that it actually ends up making my posts into a bit of a jumble.
...and sometimes I just think f*** it, I can't be arsed to spend 15 minutes turning it over and just post on the fly.
I'm sorry if it doesn't meet your pre-approved idea of how someone should type out their opinion on a football forum.

That's inaccurate. Clough improved Hartlepools significantly in his near 2 seasons there. He was appointed October 1965 with them having only won 3 games from their opening 13 - they improved to finish 18th and the following season, they finished 8th under his management. Derby then offered him the job that summer & the tangible improvement will have been a big factor in that; To put into context, Hartlepools had finished bottom 2 of the old Division Four 5 of the preceding 6 seasons
By contrast, Warne's career to date could best be described as 'mixed' & whilst he has success at League One level, there is nothing in the 3 seasons/129 games he managed in the Championship that indicates he is capable of securing the Championship midtable consolidation we would need should we go up. I imagine the club will do some serious thinking in May about how credible it would be for him to continue should we go up, particularly as we will be small fry in terms of budget at that level - something Warne struggled with when at Rotherham. After all, we wouldn't baulk at some of the current playing squad being moved on should we go up, why wouldn't it extend to the manager if it was deemed he also wasn't capable of stepping up?

Wrong.
Other factors like the experience they've gained from careers played at higher levels, the current quality of opposition they're up against and the standing of their current team within it, the quality (and type) of teammate too because one season you could be playing alongside a greedy b****** who gives you no supply, the next a selfless player. You can throw in popularity with fans as well, and personal circumstances away from football make a difference too.
It's not a fair crack at the whip you want him to be given though, it's for him to be given all the credit for his grandmother's ability to suck eggs.
Nowhere did I say that Warne isn't a contributing factor, but attributing the reason for them having their best directly to Warne is just daft.
Nothing I've posted is unfair on Warne, it's just an assessment based on what I see while holding him to the standards set by his billing, his comments and our aims and objectives.

There's not really that much that gets posted which is really "Pro-Warne" as such, you still rarely see any well constructed posts that actually explain why they think he's the right man for the long term etc, or give evidence that actually proves people's concrns unfounded. You do get the odd PR statement full of ifs, buts and maybes designed to make people doubt what they've seen with their own eyes, of course.
Perhaps that's because the evidence doesn't or can't really exist yet (until we are in the Champiuonship with him), or perhaps it's just easier to shout people down and be part of the 'in crowd' because you get less hassle that way, and rarely have to actually explain yourself?
I'd much rather be on their side of things, or on your fence, truth be told. Except I can't be, because I'm true to myself and I feel what I sfeel / see what I see.
No, rather than pro-Warne it's mainly "Anti-Anti-Warne" which is fine I guess, but it gets annoying when it becomes "Ridicule and round on anyone who's Anti-Warne" "Accuse people who are Anti-Warne of ruining the forum", when people try to throw a fire blanket over the slightest spark of doubt that Warne's doing a tremendous job and act as if his management is beyond reproach etc.
It reminds me of when Keogh was here and there was almost like a 'wall' of posters ready to jump in ahead of any criticism they perceived was about to come his way, whether it came or not, and whether whatever had caused this pre-emptive strike actually was down to Keogh or not - he became made of Teflon, anyone criticising him was accused of being unable to let Wembley go and that was that.

I think that’s what happens with regards to people categorising my stance, I’ve regularly looked to explain I’m more pro-patience than pro-Warne per se. I agree with those concerns around youth development that others voice, I don’t think he’s as adaptable tactically as he could/should be (often too slow to react to opponents tweaking things tactically, especially last season) and I spend pretty much every match thread crying out for subs.
Conversely I don’t think his signings have been all bad, I like that we score lots of goals more than we don’t, I like that we’re at the business end of the table with the chance to be promoted, I like that we’re a bit more athletic and robust cause I felt like we spent years being steamrollered by teams who had that in them when we were lacking it, I like that we win away etc.
As I say, sat on the fence of “he’s the manager for now, some of what he does I like, some of it annoys me, but I can accept it until such point that I can’t or it changes”. But yeah, people have and do identify me with an extreme I guess 🤷🏻♂️

You could copy and paste this almost word for word the other way about any number of different posters. It depends on your perspective.

You seem to not understand the concept of a forum. You might want to consider changing your name to On the Same Page the amount of times you bang on of your appreciation of all things Paul Warne.

If we won them all 3-0, I bet the most vehemently disgruntled would at least be less vitriolic in their criticism, which would be a start.

The Paul Warne "Out Out" and "Pro" topics have been locked in favour of a single place for discussions.
This is it.
I would ask members to refrain from opening any further topics with in/out or similar in the title and continue to post their opinions in here, regardless of result/league position.

A siege mentality comes from being underdogs and having something (real or imagined) to fight against. You're asking for the impossible if you're after that in our current situation.

I've found plenty of things to criticise over Warne's tenure. Collins has never been one of them. He's put the graft in and scores goals. I've no idea why a section of our fanbases doesn't get behind him.

Unless the club almost goes under again we'll never have that again. We need to accept that.
Sometimes to foster a siege mentality you need to actually be under siege.
We are now in a league in which we should be acting like the biggest club around, because we are the biggest club around. We need to foster a ruthless "we're here to batter whoever is in front of us" mentality instead.
We should fear nobody in this division.

Richie Barker said post match Cashin was cramping up having not really trained for a week with a tight hamstring, also that CBT was taken off as a precaution for a complaint with his hamstring.
He also spoke a lot about the team playing/pressing a different way tonight, something about us surrendering possession, like it was intentional to play on the counter. I didn’t notice anything particularly different to how we’ve approached other games this season, though did notice and comment in the first half how the press wasn’t quite clicking so perhaps there was something different 🤔
Anyway here’s the video for anyone interested;

I tend to look at it as they both have to play us. Those are opportunities for us to put a gap on them IMO. I only mentioned the others in reference to it being a tough end to the month, not them being the only obstacles. In any case, I've said all season that I don't believe we should fear anyone and that's still the case now.

Quite funny to see some of the meltdowns over the ref. He was giving nothing to either team
1st half Derby wernt great apart from a moment of magic from birdy
2nd half Derby were far more solid and a class above
My favourite moment of the game though was when winning 3-0, 6 foot 5 Sonny Bradley swore at a ball boy so said 13 or 14 year old ball boy looked him dead in the eyes and threw the ball straight on the floor, to which said 6 foot 5 31 year old professional footballer started crying at the ref, to which his audible response was-'he's a child, man up'. Absolutely effing brilliant, shithousery at its best. That kids going far.
