I wish he'd been as aggressive with the guy that crossed the ball for their goal. Poor defending from someone so experienced.

I had a great view of it, very blatant head butt followed by some handbags. He knew exactly what he was doing and what he had done was evident with him already storming off the pitch before the red was issued. Absolutely unprofessional to the highest degree.
Just like Tom Lawrence of old, opposition players know they can wind him up easily and he'll react. I'm sure we all remember him stupidly diving into a defender on halfway vs Rotherham moments after they'd easily won the ball from him. Straight red card, stupidity just like Bradley yesterday.

    DET says:
"Bradley relying on video to stop him being hit in the pocket
...A terrible day at the office was epitomised by the red card that Sonny Bradley picked up in stoppage time and he really can have no complaints. Warne said afterward that the centre-back had protested his innocence, but he is now staring at a three-match ban at a critical time of the season.
Unless there is strong video evidence that can categorically show he didn't aim a headbutt at Manny Monthe, then he will be missing a key part of the run-in. He won't be able to face Blackpool, Portsmouth or Wycombe, three critical fixtures that are the hardest of the last six games of the campaign.
It was a needless, stupid and reckless altercation which served absolutely no purpose other than to help Northampton secure all three points. And it now has major ramifications for the team given Warne is now likely to have to switch from a three at the back given there are no other fit centre-backs available.
Warne said he will review the incident because he had not seen it again before he came out to do his post-match duties. But if it does turn out that Bradley has no defence, then Warne said a fine will be coming his way. The first thing Bradley should do is apologise to his team-mates. Yes, it's an emotionally charged game, yes there was a lot at stake, but he's let himself down at a time when Derby are virtually down to bare bones as it is."

After Saturdays disgrace where a win, in my opinion, would have seen us going into the last match in pole position with a Bolton-Peterborough tussle as the other act, a fourth place finish without the necessary game plan to get it over the line like the Billy Davies side.
Paul thinks we should have a really strong side for the playoffs though with players coming back.  He is a card. Just what I wanted to hear 20 mins after that performance.

If we play anywhere near like we did Saturday for the remaining games then we'll be a league 1 team again next season. I hope with Collins returning we can patch together a team that starts scoring and gives us half a chance.

The thing that got me with the Bradley incident was as he was walking off having received the red card, a few of their players were high fiving each other as if to say great job getting him sent off. If felt shades of Ronaldo winking having got Rooney sent off in the 2006 World Cup, apart from of course the game yesterday was more important...
Admittedly we didn't play well but I despised the total anti-football they played, apart from their great goal(!), especially in the second half with their players going down a ludicrous amount to break up the play with stoppages.
The mascot annoyed me as well, getting involved with the players, and trying to wind up our fans right from pre kick off.
The whole game was a shambles and it had the feel of Reading away as it was freezing and very windy, and we just didn't control the ball in the conditions or against such opposition.

Perhaps that is a touch over-the-top, but it was a clear foul to us, seconds before they scored.

Thought the same with Gayle last week.  He was being asked to press the goalie and was running 30 yards at pace to do so every time he had the ball at feet.  I said he'll pull up here soon. Hey presto 5 minutes later.

    At the game today.
Can't help but feel that this could / will be the defining game of the season against a very poor Northampton team lacking several first choice players and on a bad run of form.
A complete no show from 1 to 16. Add the NML injury and Bradley's stupid sending off and I fear the worse.
It's the Derby way nothing ever straight forward !!

Actually I've calmed down a bit, and the players did let themselves down, and the let the club down, and more than that they let the fans down. So apologies, your point accepted.
But it was underpinned by the tactics used today, which were woeful. When it has taken this far into the season to find that we need a third man in midfield, especially if Hourihane has to be in there (I don't remember Richi Sunack passing a law that he must always play unless injured, but it would seem to be the case), only to go with a two today. It crippled us,  especially when he took Adams off, not Hourrihane. And I don't know if you noticed or not, but we were back to the "whack it ide and lob it into the box" methodology that has never worked, and that didn't work today. When as players you know there is a much better way to play, and that you are capable of winning if only we would do it, but are forced into this sort of crapology, is it any wonder they were a bit half-arsed? Yes the players were poor, but they'd had their hamstrings snipped as they walked onto the pitch today.

I'm glad though that after all 5 subs had been made, he still kept the three centre backs on. Genius tactics against the one striker.

Limp, lacking in effort and skill, felt it like lasted all night without going anywhere and ultimately just left everyone feeling disappointed and frustrated.
Anyway, enough about @Jourdan's nuptials, how bloody awful were Derby today!

Suppose it didn’t help player morale that Warne jovially told the fans forum that most of them were getting binned off if we go up anyway. Not that it should detract from wanting to win a game anyway, but I imagine it didn’t help.

Sorry mate not for your lot it doesn’t; you’re as much bottlejobs as we are and I can see you getting done at Stevenage next Friday. The only team I think have any momentum is Peterborough at the moment, who incidentally were best team I’ve seen at Pride Park this season. I don’t know how our season is going to pan out now; I have had the stuffing knocked out of me by todays result and wouldn’t be surprised if we end up falling out of the top two and getting done in the playoffs, because I honestly don’t know which Derby team is going to turn up, game after game.

    Horrible game.
Just nothing went right. Bradley was so poor today,  won't be missed on that showing.
No intensity,  no guile... I've been defensive of Warne's tactics but today there really was too much aimless hoofball.
Passing across the back 3 to wing backs who were as deep as a full back would be.. launching it when we didn't really have out and out wingers who could take advantage.  Sloppy passing.
And brain-meltingly bad ref-ing. Pathetic s**t-housing, diving, staying down etc that was appallingly handled by the ref.
Another really bad performance, similar to a few others. When we are bad,  we are abject.
Needs a massive change for the next 3 difficult games.

    It’s a combination of both.
Warne’s tactics today were so wrong it’s unreal. And his subs were even worse.
But the effort shown by the players… f*** me. I was about to have a f****** seizure I was that mad in the crowd. People clapping them off. Not a f****** chance, absolutely disgraceful performance

OK. Have your way. The players did absolutely nothing wrong and can put any poor defending, missed passes, failure to create and convert any chances etc. entirely down to Warne.

I don’t agree with throwing players under the bus but I find it bizarre to suggest they were completely blameless for today’s poor performance.

I do think we are giving Northampton a tad too much credit and tolerance for their tactics. For me their s**t housing was outrageous. Never seen a home team in the same league employ time wasting to that extent which simply disrupted any continuity in the game. The referee's tolerance for it was typical of this league but he simply didn't do anything when they continued to do it. Ok they won but if we were guilty of that I would be ashamed. Disgruntled fan on way back from match.

Sibleys not done much wrong, Should be played further up though, probably as that 10 seeing as we have no forwards who can shoot on target or avoid offsides now.

You must be new to this Derby County thing, then. This isn't a one off. This happens every single time. Every time we have a chance to move forwards and leave our opponents trailing in our dust, we get the brush and dustpan out, sweep up the dust and give the clubs behind us a tow. As many of us have said, we should be sitting in first place with 5, 6 or more points clear, because the players we have, used properly, are well capable of that. But Warne has contrived to make us set up to be scared of a team that has lost loads of matches and conceded loads of goals.
In his pre-match presser he was talking about having to defend for our live for goodness sake.  This is talking about a team that loses for fun, and lets goals in like they are on piece-rate for goals conceded. And no, we didn't even look like bundling the ball over the line.
We were summed up by Hourihane, right near the ned of the match, when he intercepted the ball in the centre circle, with everyone back for Northampton. H sent his pass towards Nelson, who was 5 yards away, but he put the ball 10 yards behind Nelson! What was Hourihane even doing on the pitch at the kick off, let alone right near the end?
